Chapter 79 79
"Is there something you want to ask or talk about?
We have been standing in the driveway for sometime now. Or… are you purposely stalling me?" Brooke asked with a furrow brow.
'Nathan, just go to the point. You are being caught.' an inner voice said to him. He takes his hair with his hand and clears his throat. "Bee, I have a favor to ask."
"And what is this favor -" Brooke began but was caught off guard. She felt Nathan wrapped his hands around her and embraced her.
With his eyes closed, he stroked the back of her head and inhaled her scent. "Thank you Bee. Thank you for everything. I just wanted to feel you close and I want you to feel the sincerity in my words. I missed you so much, Bee." He confessed.
They remain in each other's embrace for another second or two. Brooke gently pushes him away after that.
"It's getting really late. You should go. I also need to get some rest.." Brooke said, avoiding to comment on what Nathan said. "Don't be late tomorrow." She added.
"I won't be." Nathan promised. "Goodnight, Bee. Take care."
"I always do. Goodnight." Brooke said as she turned and began towards the entrance. Without looking back, she walked into the house and shut the door behind her.
Only then did Nathan get into the car and his driver drove out of the Turners residence.
He asked the driver to take him back to the hospital. He picked his mother up so that she could get some rest at the hotel. While Mrs Scooter stayed back at the hospital. Keeping watching fi
"Your father woke up earlier today. He will be moved to the private room tomorrow." Marise reported. She did not receive any response from Nathan, which made her turn to look at him.
He seems to be in private thoughts. He obviously didn't hear what his mother said. He was looking out the window and smiling like a lost and found puppet.
"Nathan, are you even listening?" She probed. She believed whatever it was that was making her son smile from ear to ear has to do with Brooke. "Son, I didn't get to ask. What did you and Brooke talk about?"
Marise gasped when she thought of the possible reason for her son's behavior. "Are you and Bee back together? Please tell me that is what it is. Tell me that is the reason behind your smile."
"Huh! What did you say, mother?" Nathan finally turned to his mother.
"I said are you and Brooke back together? Is that the reason you have that smile on your face?" Marise asked again, hoping the answer would be a positive one.
"Oh..." Nathan chuckled. "No, we are not. At least, not yet. I don't know if she is going to let me redeem myself. But I hope as time goes by she does."
Marise was disappointed at his response. "Then Why are you acting as if she has? Could there be anything more important that happened?" She probed further. "Because you just gave me false hope. I was getting excited over nothing."
Nathan chuckled again. He moved closer to his mother and gave her a side hug. "Like I said, that hasn't happened yet. However, I have great news, mother. I am sure it will put a smile on your face as well."
"What is it?" Marise asked, still wondering what it could be that was making him excited.
"I just found out yesterday. Brooke and I have a son together. I have a son, mother." Nathan reported. He couldn't contain himself with the joy he was feeling at that moment.
"What?" Marise asked, wondering if she didn't hear him well.
"Mother, I have a son with Bee. You are a grandmother. I officially met him today. He looked so much like me." Nathan continued.
"How is that?" Marise asked with a knitted brow. Because she was still confused.
"It turned out Bee was pregnant with my child before she left Silverbrook. But she chose not to tell me about it. This might be my chance to get her back, mother." Nathan said.
Marise was quiet, comprehending the information she just received. "This- this mean I am a grandmother?" She stuttered.
"Yes you are, mother. And I am a father. His name is Liam. The same Liam I was jealous of." Nathan said.
Marise clapped her hands and then covered her mouth. She gasped and then chuckled. "So all along, you were jealous of your own son? My grandson?" She said, pointing at Nathan.
Nathan gave a small laugh as he nodded.
"Your grandson." Nathan echoed. "And mother, you are going to love him. He is so adorable. I instantly fell in love with him too." Nathan added, raising his hands in the air.
"I am a grandmother." Marise repeated. "I haven't met him yet but I already love him. This is exciting news. When do I get to see him?"
"Oh, that is the good part. Tomorrow. He is going to spend the day with us." Nathan told.
"Really!" Marise exclaimed. "That is wonderful. I can't wait to meet him." She leans on Nathan's body. "Your father is going to be elated from this news. I can't wait for him to hear that he has a grandson."
Nathan pecked his mother's forehead. "He is going to be very happy. These are the times to give him good news to help him in his recovery."
Marise abruptly sat up. "Son, this changes everything. You have to do everything you can to get Bee to forgive you. You two have to get back together and let your son have a family." She suggested.
Nathan nodded. That is his intention too.
Marise held his hand and added. "Son, promise me that you will do everything in your power and will to win my daughter-in-law 's heart again."
"I promise, mother. That is my intention all along. Even before I knew about Liam. Now, he is just an added bonus. His presence gave me more morals." Nathan spoke.
"I will not rest until I get my Bee back."
