Chapter 38 38
Inside a luxurious car, is Nathan, his assistant and his lawyer. The car was at the gate of the old Turners mansion. Soon, the gate opened automatically and Nathan's driver drove into the mansion.
This time around, he asked for permission from the new owners of the mansion to come to the house. He has an offer to present to them and he has a good feeling about this. That they will accept the offer.
When they stepped out of the car, a maid guided them into the house and they settled in the living room.
"Good morning,Mr Leo." Margaret said after walking into the living room with her husband.
"This is my husband, Mr Elvis Philip. The last time you came, he wasn't home." She introduced the man before they both sat down.
The three men greeted back before settling back on the couch.
"Welcome to our home, again." Elvis said.
Nathan felt a little odd to the man's words. He must have been told what happened when Nathan visited for the first time.
"Thank you, Mr Philip." Nathan said.
"What brought you here this time?" Margaret asked.
"I have a business offer for you." Nathan said. His lawyer passed a piece of document to the couple before they could even ask what the offer was.
The elderly couple accepted the document and began to go through it. Their expression was hard to tell as they kept flipping from one page to the next. When they were done, they turned their attention back to Nathan.
"Mr and Mrs Phillip. I want to buy back this house. I am offering you double the amount you bought it. If that is not okay, you can name your price. But please, consider my offer."
"This is my ex-wife's family home. I will want it to remain that way. Please let me buy it back."
The elderly couple looked at each other and then back at Nathan. They excused themselves to have a private discussion in a room close by.
Moments later, they came out. Nathan crossed his fingers, hoping to get positive news.
"Mr Leo, this is a lovely home and my wife likes it a lot. Besides, we just moved in not very long ago." Elvis began.
His words were making Nathan weak in the knees, he could feel rejection to his offer is what will come next. But he was determined not to give up that easily. Even if it means he will be the one to find them a new home and take responsibility for their moving.
"However, the amount you offer is too good to be turned down. Plus my wife is not yet too attached to the new home. So we accept your offer." Elvis concluded.
His wife nodded in agreement.
Nathan couldn't hide his excitement. He shook the hands of Mr and Mrs Phillips and expressed his gratitude.
He felt relieved and fulfilled. Buying back the Turners' mansion was nothing as close as getting Brooke back in his life. But he felt this was a good step. He will keep hoping that one day, Brooke will return.
One day, she will also forgive him.
And one day, he will give the Turners their home back as a gift.
Just, one day. He will keep hoping that the one day will come and no matter how long it takes, he will be waiting, patiently.
When one door closes, another one opens. At that moment of the closure, we might be disappointed and heartbroken. But at the end, we will appreciate the new path that opened for you. It will turn out to be a great gift for you my friend #XOXO Bee.... See you soon...
Brooke smiled at her friend Nicole's comment. It is a caption under a picture of the three of them that she posted and added the caption.
I don't care how busy I am. I am dropping everything for my dearest Bee.... I can't be left out of this trip. I will be there too.
A comment came from Kate.
Brooke's smile grew wider. She shook her head and smiled. Brooke robbed her belly that is still flat. She is standing outside the lecture hall of her next class. She decided to go through with her friend's plan to fly out to Emberwood to see her for the first time since she moved.
It's been three weeks since Brooke found out she was pregnant. At her birthday dinner, she told her parents about it.
They were surprised at the unexpected news. But as the loving and caring parents they are, they took it well and they told Brooke she has their support. Whatever she decides, they have her back.
Her father began to look for ways to help Brooke with her studies through medical school. If there is any possible way for her to get through the school faster than she would initially do.
She later walked out of the school with confidence and satisfaction. With her parents' love and care and her friends' support, she is going to do great. She is going to succeed and become a great doctor, just like her father. She feels it is going to happen, it is just a matter of time.
Brooke walked out of the school gate and began to look around for her driver. But he was nowhere to be found. Instead, she saw a familiar person standing by his car.
Brooke sighed and walked up to him.
"I told Doctor Turner I will pick you up today. That is why your driver is not here." Ryan said. "I will be leaving Emberwood for sometime. So I came to say goodbye. Not forever, though." He clarified. A smirk formed on his lips at the end of his sentence.
Brooke only shook her head and walked to the other side of the car. They both got in and Ryan drove.
He drove for a while until they got to a coffee shop. He confirmed if Brooke will be bothered by the coffee smell. She assured him it was fine.
They walked to the coffee shop and settled outside at a table before Ryan went in to place their orders.
Soon, he came back with their preferred choice of coffee and sat opposite Brooke.
They spent some minutes talking about Brooke's school and Ryan's job. He decided to probe a little in her personal life.
"Bee, I didn't mean to probe but I was wondering, what have you decided about the pregnancy?"
Brooke remained silent for a while.
"You don't have to answer if you don't want to." Ryan added. He didn't want to put her in a position where she would feel forced to discuss something she might not want to.
Brooke let out a breath. She waved him off.
"It's fine, Ryan. You already know so much, there is no point in hiding my decision on this either." Brooke began.
"I have decided......"
