Chapter 556: The Grand Finale
Chapter 556: The Grand Finale
A while ago, Sophia had renovated the entire garden, and she hadn't had time to plant new flowers yet.
So the garden should be empty right now.
But now...
Sophia stared blankly at the garden packed full of flowers, unable to react for a long time.
"So Niamh didn't go out to play today, but spent the whole time helping me plant flowers?"
Benjamin nodded.
Sophia's eyes welled up, and tears instantly fell down her cheeks.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
Sophia thought about how fierce she had been to Niamh just now, and an uncontrollable wave of guilt surged through her heart.
Benjamin explained helplessly, "Actually, I just found out too. When you took her to bathe, the servant quietly told me."
Sophia stared at the garden in front of her without blinking, deeply moved.
Her Niamh was so good, so wonderful.
Benjamin pulled her into his arms and said softly, "You're the best mother in the world. You deserve Niamh treating you this well."
"Benjamin, thank you."
She felt so lucky. Although she had gone through so much hardship as a child, after all the suffering came happiness—she now had the best husband and child in the whole world.
Benjamin lowered his head, gently cupped Sophia's face, and moved closer bit by bit.
Just as his lips were about to touch hers, a rush of hurried footsteps suddenly came from behind him.
"Benjamin! My dad is looking for you..."
Emilio ran over, and seeing Benjamin and Sophia kissing, he silently covered his eyes with his little hands.
"I—I didn't see anything, you can continue..."
He seemed quite used to this sort of thing and handled it with practiced ease.
Sophia quickly pushed Benjamin away, cleared her throat, and said, "Emilio, what did you need us for?"
Emilio slowly lowered his hands and explained why he was there.
"My dad wants to propose to my mom and asked you guys to help come up with an idea."
"Really? That's wonderful!"
Over these years, Odette had been focusing on recovering her health.
She had been through so much trauma, her body was seriously damaged, and she needed a long time to rest.
Alaric had gradually fallen in love with Odette while spending time with her.
But Odette always felt she might not live long and didn't want to burden Alaric, so she kept refusing to be with him.
Five years had passed, and Alaric didn't want to wait any longer.
He had been working hard to prove that he could give Odette happiness and didn't care whether her body could still bear children.
After all, he loved Odette as a person, not as a baby-making machine.
Besides, they already had Emilio as their son, didn't they? For him, that was enough.
So after much thought, Alaric decided to propose to Odette as soon as possible.
Alaric chose an exhibition hall as the location for his proposal.
An artist that Odette really liked was holding an exhibition in Silverlight City, and Alaric decided to propose there.
Many people came on the day of his proposal.
Odette was moved to tears by Alaric's proposal, but she still hesitated.
She didn't come from a good background, her health was so poor, she needed constant care...
Hearing this, Alaric held her hand tightly and said word by word, "The White family has never needed marriage alliances—family background isn't an issue at all. Besides, I'm a doctor, and I need to be responsible for my patients. Odette, will you let me be responsible for you for the rest of my life?"
Emilio cheered from the side, "Mom, say yes! Say yes..."
Niamh was still young and didn't quite understand what a proposal meant, but she clapped along too.
"Odette, say yes, say yes..."
With everyone cheering, Odette excitedly nodded.
Alaric had waited so long for this moment. As soon as she nodded, he immediately pulled her into his arms without a second thought.
Thunderous applause and cheers instantly erupted around them.
"Kiss! Kiss..."
Odette's cheeks flushed bright red. Alaric smiled and asked her, "May I?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Cillian immediately pushed him from behind, "Why are you even asking? If you don't kiss her now, when are you planning to?"
Alaric was pushed forward two steps by Cillian. He lowered his head and kissed her.
Sophia watched from the side, also moved by the scene.
Benjamin wiped her tears while laughing helplessly.
"It's someone else's proposal—why are you crying so much?"
Sophia sniffled, her eyes slightly red. "I'm just so touched. Alaric and Odette are finally together. I hope they'll be happy forever."
Benjamin nodded and murmured, "They will be."
Sophia stood on her tiptoes, took the initiative to wrap her arms around Benjamin's neck, and kissed him on the lips.
"We'll be happy forever, too!"
"We will be."
In the noisy, bustling exhibition hall, Benjamin held Sophia tightly, immersed in their kiss.
