Chapter 521: Becoming More and More Brazen
He had checked the accounts of the White Group branch. The money transferred from the White Group headquarters was sufficient.
So there was only one possibility - someone was embezzling and profiting from it.
The White Group used to have very strict management and would never allow such things to happen.
If such incidents occurred, the person would be fired immediately and never hired again.
It seemed that cutting corners had only started in the past two years.
However, this couldn't really be blamed on Alaric.
He had originally studied medicine, and having him manage the company was just a desperate measure.
After what happened with Lachlan, the White family's reputation took a big hit.
Even some companies they used to work with regularly were starting to consider breaking their contracts.
But they didn't dare openly go against the White family. After all, the White family was still not someone they could afford to offend.
The White family hadn't fallen yet and was far from that point.
Benjamin was taking this opportunity to see clearly which companies had become disloyal.
As for the company employees, it was time for a thorough cleanup.
Sophia happily finished her lunch and noticed Benjamin sitting there in a daze. She didn't know what he was thinking about.
She leaned over, blinking her eyes. "Honey, is something bothering you?"
Benjamin snapped back to reality and noticed her face close to his, along with a pair of lively and playful eyes.
He instinctively reached out, pulled Sophia into his arms, and gently stroked her hair. "It's nothing, just work stuff. I can handle it myself."
"Okay, but if you need my help, just tell me anytime."
Although Sophia knew nothing about running a company, she could be a listener.
Plus, she had Robert and Matthew around.
If she and Benjamin ran into trouble, all she needed to do was say the word.
Matthew would definitely come help her.
Benjamin smiled helplessly. "Okay, I'll be counting on your help from now on."
After eating, they left the company together, and Benjamin drove Sophia back to the hospital.
As Sophia got out of the car, a pair of familiar eyes suddenly flashed through Benjamin's mind.
He paused and unfastened his seatbelt, too. "I'll go up with you."
Sophia looked at him suspiciously. "Mr. White, you're hiding something from me."
Her tone was certain, her eyes slightly narrowed, staring at Benjamin without blinking.
Benjamin reached out and casually ruffled her hair. "You're too smart. I just saw someone I know at the hospital entrance, but I'm not sure if it's her."
"How can you be sure she's someone from the hospital? Maybe she was just here to see a doctor and left after?" Sophia said.
"No, I saw her wearing the same clothes as you."
Sophia was stunned. The same clothes?
Could it be a white coat?
She had been in a hurry when she left and forgot to take off her white coat.
Who came out with her... could it be Odette?
But didn't she just recently return to Novaria?
Francis had said that Odette hadn't been back to Novaria for seven or eight years.
She told Benjamin Odette's name, but Benjamin looked completely confused. "I haven't heard that name, but someone I know also has the last name Chambers."
However, he wasn't quite sure yet whether the person he knew had any connection to this Odette.
"Okay, come in with me."
Sophia didn't ask any more questions and brought Benjamin into the hospital with her.
But unfortunately, the nurse at the front desk said Odette had gone out at noon and hadn't returned yet.
Benjamin wasn't too disappointed. He lowered his head, kissed Sophia, and left.
Sophia stood there, touching the spot where he had kissed her, and smiled helplessly.
He really was getting bolder and bolder.
This was a hospital, and her colleagues were all around.
What she didn't know was that Benjamin wanted the whole world to know about their relationship.
That way, no one would dare have designs on Sophia.
The receptionist looked at Sophia with envy. "Dr. Brown, your husband is so good to you, and he's so handsome!"
The receptionist saw all kinds of people every day, but had never seen anyone more handsome than Benjamin.
And Sophia - her face was breathtakingly beautiful.
If it weren't for the white coat Sophia wore, walking through the hospital, she would definitely be mistaken for some celebrity.
And these past few days, they had all seen that whenever Sophia got off work, her husband would always be there on time to pick her up.
Sophia's husband couldn't be more considerate.
They wondered if they would ever have the chance in their lifetime to meet such a handsome, rich, and thoughtful boyfriend.
Sophia smiled, sweetness welling up in her heart.
Benjamin really was wonderful.
She believed that no one in this world could be better than him.
After seeing Benjamin off, Sophia turned to go upstairs. She didn't notice that after she left, a figure quietly emerged.
It was Odette.
Odette glanced in the direction Benjamin had left and followed after him.
