Chapter 43 What Do You Think of Stellar University?
After another half minute, Benjamin still couldn't fall asleep.
He glanced over at Sophia beside him, thought for a moment, then gently lifted her head and slid his arm underneath, letting her rest on it.
Satisfied with his actions, Benjamin nodded contentedly.
He gazed at her delicate face, feeling a rush of emotion in his chest.
Leaning in, he placed a soft kiss on Sophia's smooth forehead and whispered, "Goodnight."
Unaware of what Benjamin had done, Sophia just felt like she had the most comfortable sleep that night.
When she woke up the next morning, the spot next to her was already empty.
Benjamin must have gone to work.
She opened her eyes, stretched lazily, and was about to drift back to sleep when a knock on the door interrupted her.
"Mrs. White, Mr. Alaric White is downstairs waiting for you. He wants to know when you'll be ready."
Sophia rubbed her sleepy eyes, suddenly remembering something important.
She quickly got out of bed. "Tell Alaric I'll be ready in ten minutes."
Rushing into the bathroom, she washed up at lightning speed. After changing clothes and quickly tying her hair, she headed downstairs.
At twenty years old, Sophia's skin was flawless and radiant, needing no makeup to stun anyone who saw her.
As she descended the stairs, she garnered numerous admiring looks.
She greeted everyone with a sweet, innocent smile, exuding a charm that was both adorable and genuine.
She was like a perfect doll in a display window, every feature flawless.
Many couldn't help but blush when they met Sophia's gaze.
Sophia's beauty was on par with, even surpassing, that of any celebrity.
In the entertainment industry, her looks could easily outshine many stars.
Standing before Alaric, Sophia beamed with energy. "Morning, Alaric."
Alaric looked up, a hint of amazement in his eyes, then smiled warmly. "Let's have breakfast first, no rush."
Sophia's smile deepened. "Thanks, Alaric!"
She hurried to the kitchen but didn't waste time. She grabbed a sandwich and a cup of hot milk and was ready to go.
Alaric, seeing this, said nothing more.
He stood up and headed for the door. "Let's go."
On the way, Alaric occasionally glanced at Sophia in the rearview mirror as she eagerly devoured her sandwich, a smile playing on his lips at her resemblance to Benjamin. "Take your time eating. No need to rush. Don't choke."
"It's so good!" Sophia chewed in small bites, her cheeks puffed up like a hamster sneaking a snack.
It was very adorable.
Alaric shook his head, amused, thinking she was just a kid.
As Sophia finished eating, Alaric spoke softly. "My team includes four people, including myself. Two women and two men. They're all top professionals in the medical field."
After Alaric's brief introduction, Sophia understood the origins of his team.
There were four members in total.
Alaric graduated from the renowned Celestial University with a full scholarship.
The other three were his classmates and mentors.
Soon, the car slowly drove into Stellar University and finally parked.
Alaric led Sophia to a building.
He pointed to the lab building ahead. "This is Stellar University's lab building, a key national medical research base. Most of the experiments here are pretty straightforward. For more classified research, you need to go through rigorous assessments."
Alaric paused. "Stellar University is currently expanding its team members. They're in the assessment phase now."
Sophia nodded in understanding.
She had heard of Stellar University's projects.
Alaric suddenly stopped and turned to Sophia. "Sophia, are you still in school?"
At just twenty, with exceptional medical talent, it would be a shame if she wasn't studying.
However, she had lived in the mountains for a long time, so he wasn't sure if she had attended college.
"If you want to go to school, I can arrange it. How about Stellar University?" Alaric's tone was casual, as if getting into Stellar University was the simplest thing.
Anyone hearing this would likely be stunned.
Stellar University was one of the top five schools in the country.
Every year, countless students fought to get in, but for Alaric, it was just a matter of a word.
Not just because the White Family was wealthy, but also because of Sophia's extraordinary medical talent.
Sophia smiled and shook her head. "Thank you, Alaric, but I've already graduated from college."
Hearing that, Alaric was stunned.
Sophia nodded firmly, scratching her head shyly. "I skipped a few grades as a kid, so I graduated early."
Alaric was shocked.
He knew Sophia was exceptional, but not this exceptional.
But upon reflection, it made sense.
Sophia was different from most people.
Though simple-minded, she was very smart.
Her medical talent was also high.
Thinking this way, Benjamin was really lucky to have this wife.
Realizing Sophia was his brother's wife, Alaric felt a surge of pride.
Suppressing his excitement, Alaric said to Sophia, "I teach at Stellar University, so the school rented me an empty lab. My team and I have been conducting research here for years."
"We've extracted samples of the toxin from Benjamin's body but haven't identified the virus."
Years of research had yielded no progress.
Just when he was about to lose hope, Sophia appeared.
Sophia obediently followed Alaric, attracting countless stares from students due to their striking looks.
They even encountered some of Alaric's students.
Seeing Sophia and Alaric, they assumed she was his girlfriend, their faces filled with excitement and curiosity.
Alaric could only explain with a wry smile.
After clearing up the misunderstanding, Alaric looked at Sophia. "They were just joking. Don't mind them."
