Chapter 378 Secretly Kissing Her
Finnley's deep voice carried a seductive quality that was incredibly alluring.
A faint blush spread across Sophia's fair, delicate cheeks.
Her long, curled lashes blinked innocently, then she shook her head. "No, your punishment period isn't over yet."
Finnley froze, his eyes full of disbelief. "Sophia, do you have to be this cruel?"
His desire had already been stirred up, his whole body radiating heat, and he was clearly struggling to control himself as he spoke.
Hearing Sophia's rejection felt like someone had dumped a bucket of cold water over him. His body stiffened, frozen in his previous position.
Sophia pretended not to notice his awkwardness and said casually, "I only said you don't have to kneel on the keyboard tonight. I never said I forgave you."
If she forgave him now, wouldn't that show she had no principles?
"Sophia..."
"Honey... can't the punishment continue tomorrow?"
He couldn't control himself anymore. Making him stop now was practically killing him.
Sophia silently turned her face away, refusing to look at him.
Finnley let out a deep sigh, gazing at Sophia with pleading eyes. "Honey, can't we really make love?"
"Can you really bear to see me suffer like this?"
He was met with endless silence.
Sophia pulled the blanket over to cover her face, secretly leaving half an ear exposed to carefully listen to the movement behind her.
Sophia unconsciously held her breath.
With her back to him, she couldn't see what he was doing, but from the sounds, he seemed to be undressing.
Her heart tightened, her hands hidden under the blanket clenching quietly. She thought that if Finnley really couldn't control his desire, making love wouldn't be completely out of the question.
Actually, she wasn't that angry—she just wanted to make her point clear.
She didn't want something like this to happen again.
However, she didn't hear Finnley approach. Instead, she heard him get out of bed.
Steady footsteps moved farther and farther away from her.
Then the bathroom door was pushed open and closed again.
The sound of water reached Sophia's ears through the wall.
She quietly pulled down the blanket, revealing her big eyes as they scanned the room.
After confirming that Finnley had really gone into the bathroom, she sat up in bed, a triumphant smile slowly forming on her rosy lips.
Meanwhile, Finnley stood under the shower taking a cold shower, silently cursing Celestia hundreds of times in his mind.
It seemed he needed to teach her a proper lesson, or she'd never learn her place.
After a long while, Finnley slowly exhaled a heavy breath.
He leaned against the cold wall, clenching his fists until his knuckles cracked, a bloodthirsty glint flashing in his dark eyes.
When he came out of the bathroom, Sophia had already fallen asleep leaning against the headboard.
Finnley dried his wet hair with a towel and walked over to sit on the bed.
He gazed at Sophia's sweet, adorable sleeping face, his lips unconsciously curving upward.
It seemed his Sophia did care about him after all—otherwise she wouldn't have been leaning against the headboard, falling asleep in such an uncomfortable position.
His heart stirred, and he slowly leaned down, planting a kiss on the corner of Sophia's lips.
"Good night, my Sophia."
Sophia, sound asleep, felt a tickle at the corner of her lips. She reached up to scratch it, then suddenly wrapped her arms around Finnley's neck.
Caught off guard, Finnley was pulled into her embrace, his body falling toward her.
To avoid waking Sophia, he quickly extended his hand to brace himself against the bed.
He stared at Sophia's sleeping face so close to his, momentarily dazed. As if possessed, he lowered his head and kissed her soft lips.
Sophia's lips were perfectly shaped, soft to the touch, and carried a sweetness like honey that was utterly addictive.
Finnley pecked at them again and again, feeling like he could never get enough.
The desire that had finally been suppressed by the cold water surged up again, this time even more intensely.
It finally dissolved into a helpless sigh that disappeared into the endless night.
And Sophia, dreaming sweet dreams, knew nothing of all this.
The next morning when she went to the bathroom to wash up, Sophia noticed her lips seemed swollen.
She frowned in confusion. Why were her lips swollen?
They also felt slightly tingly and numb.
She narrowed her eyes suspiciously and turned to look at Finnley beside her, her gaze examining and scrutinizing.
Her fair hand pointed at her lips as she asked doubtfully, "Did you do this?"
Finnley's hand paused while brushing his teeth, but he didn't answer her question.
Clearly, he was admitting it.
Sophia couldn't help but laugh in exasperation.
Earlier he'd said all those nice things about listening to her.
Now he dared to secretly kiss her while she was asleep!
"Honey, I promise I only kissed you and did nothing else!" Finnley raised both hands in surrender.
Sophia shot back, "Really? What else were you planning to do?"
Finnley felt uncomfortable under her stare and quickly changed the subject. "Honey, let's move back to our own place, okay?"
"Where to?"
Sophia's attention was indeed diverted as she looked at him questioningly.
Finnley spit out the foam in his mouth and said deliberately, "Back to Maple Grove Villas. We're married now—we should have our own private space."
He wanted to spend more time alone with Sophia, not constantly being interrupted like they were now.
Besides, last night he'd specifically had Chase investigate Celestia and discovered she had inappropriate feelings for Matthew.
Although Celestia was his cousin, he had to admit that Matthew was completely out of her league.
Since Celestia wanted to stay at the White Manor to see Matthew, they would just move out voluntarily.
Without them at the White Manor, Matthew naturally wouldn't come to the White Manor either.
Celestia's schemes would be wasted.
Sophia thought for a moment, then nodded. "Okay. Even though I've lived at the White Manor these past two years, Maple Grove Villas has always been maintained. We can move back anytime."
The reason Sophia had returned to the White Manor was because Preston didn't feel comfortable with her staying alone at Maple Grove Villas, worried she might harm herself or something.
Now that Finnley was back, those concerns no longer existed.
Hearing Sophia agree to his suggestion, Finnley's lips unconsciously curved into a smile.
After washing up, Sophia and Finnley changed clothes and headed out together.
As they were going downstairs, they happened to run into Celestia.
Celestia hadn't forgotten the humiliation Sophia had given her yesterday. She glared at her viciously before stepping onto the stairs and heading down first.
Finnley frowned, about to call out to Celestia, but Sophia stopped him.
He turned to look and saw Sophia shake her head at him. "Forget it, don't stoop to her level."
For someone as arrogant as Celestia, ignoring her was the best approach.
Finnley felt displeased but ultimately followed Sophia's advice and didn't make a scene.
He wasn't in a hurry—when it came to dealing with Celestia, he had plenty of methods at his disposal.
