Chapter 350 Wish List
M asked helplessly, "So you've officially left GeneCipher Society now?"
"Yeah, I've cut off all ties with them."
M wasn't surprised by this - it was exactly the kind of thing Finnley would do.
But thinking about GeneCipher Society's powerful influence, he still gave a reminder: "Watch out for them. You screwed them over, they won't let this go."
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
After hanging up, Finnley noticed a shadow appear in front of him.
He slowly looked up, meeting Sophia's clear, bright eyes. "Who were you talking to? That was a long call."
He had never talked to her on the phone for that long.
Finnley reached out and pinched Sophia's soft cheek, teasing, "What? Are you jealous?"
"Yes, I'm jealous of my own husband. Is that not allowed?" Sophia stepped forward, wrapped her arms around Finnley's neck, and sat right on his lap, facing him.
Finnley's lips curved up in a bold, unrestrained smile. "It's allowed, and you're welcome to be jealous anytime."
With that, he stretched out his arm and pulled Sophia tightly into his embrace, planting a kiss on her smooth, full forehead.
Sophia's cold expression instantly changed, and she couldn't help but laugh.
She pinched Finnley's face too and planted a firm kiss on his handsome, refined face. "That's your reward."
"Once isn't enough." Finnley held the back of Sophia's head and kissed her back.
Finnley's posture was forceful and left no room for refusal.
After who knows how long, Sophia leaned weakly against Finnley's chest, breathing slightly heavily, her eyes shimmering with light.
"Don't think kissing me will let you off the hook. Tell me honestly - was that a man or woman on the phone just now?"
"A man."
"I don't believe you!"
"It really was a man."
And a disfigured middle-aged man in his forties at that.
Finnley thought to himself.
At the same time, far away in Celestria, M suddenly sneezed.
"How do you prove it?"
Sophia kept one arm around Finnley's neck while the other hand tugged at his tie, refusing to let go. She was being impossibly demanding.
It wasn't that she doubted Finnley - she just felt something was off.
Sophia had never seen him talk on the phone with anyone else for that long before, so naturally she felt a bit uncomfortable.
Finnley chatting so happily with someone else on the phone - how could she be happy about that?
Finnley thought for a moment, then unlocked his phone and held it in front of Sophia.
Sophia glanced at the phone screen and lifted her chin proudly. "I'm not trying to check your phone, I'm just a little curious."
Sophia was actually just being stubborn - she was dying of curiosity inside.
Finnley had long figured out her personality and could naturally guess what she was thinking, but he didn't dislike this feeling at all.
In fact, he found it novel since he'd never experienced it before.
He nodded and said, "You're not the one asking to see it - I'm offering to show you."
"That's more like it." Sophia hummed lightly and happily took Finnley's phone.
Finnley's phone home screen was very simple - besides the default apps, there were just some finance-related apps.
Sophia only looked at the contacts and found that the most recent call was from someone named M.
She looked at Finnley questioningly.
Finnley explained in a low voice: "He's my business partner. He saved my life before."
"Is he a foreigner?" Otherwise why would he use the name M?
"No, he's from Novaria, but he won't tell me his real name. He just wants me to call him M."
Actually, Finnley was also curious about the man's true identity, but he wasn't the type to dig into everything. Everyone has their own secrets.
As long as he was sure M wouldn't betray him, that was enough.
Sophia nodded and handed the phone back to him. "Okay, I've checked. My husband is still as faithful as ever."
Finnley couldn't help but laugh. "You didn't even keep looking. How do you know I'm faithful?"
A sly glint flashed in Sophia's shimmering eyes. "I just know. Otherwise I wouldn't be here right now."
If Finnley dared to betray her, she probably would never let him find her again in this lifetime.
Still, she was quite curious about this M person.
"He'll be back in the country in a while. I'll introduce you two then." Finnley lowered his head and kissed her cheek, feeling like his heart was completely full.
How could his wife be so adorable?
"I should thank him properly. If he hadn't saved you, we probably would have had a hard time reuniting."
Sophia buried her face in Finnley's shoulder and nuzzled against it, her heart aching with a dense, spreading pain.
What exactly had Finnley gone through these past two years? Why was he injured? How badly was he hurt?
So many questions swirled in her mind, but Sophia didn't ask them right away.
She wanted to give Finnley enough time and space - when he was ready to talk about it, he would tell her naturally.
She wasn't in a hurry, she just felt heartbroken and guilty.
They stayed like that, holding each other on the sofa, chatting for a while longer. Sophia gradually got sleepy and started yawning.
Seeing this, Finnley said softly, "Go take a shower. It's getting late, time for bed."
"Okay." Sophia released her arms from around Finnley's neck, obediently got off him, and went to the bathroom.
Finnley leaned back on the sofa, looking up at the ceiling. After a long silence, he slowly got up and walked to the bed.
The room was incredibly quiet. The sound of water came from the bathroom, and Finnley's mind started to wander.
He got up and opened a drawer, reaching inside for a box of condoms, only to discover it was empty.
He frowned. They were gone already?
He remembered preparing several boxes of condoms before.
He sighed deeply and started searching through the nightstand drawer. He didn't find any condoms, but at the very bottom he discovered a very simple notebook.
Brown cover - clearly not Sophia's style.
Could it be something he used before?
His heart stirred, and he took out the notebook.
The first thing he saw was a page filled with writing.
Wish List: Watch a movie together, take wedding photos, go to an amusement park...
It recorded many things couples often do together. Several items were crossed out - probably things they'd already done.
As for the ones not crossed out, they probably hadn't gotten around to them yet.
The handwriting was bold and powerful, with a commanding presence - identical to his own handwriting.
Finnley pressed his lips together, feeling something subtle in his heart.
He randomly flipped to another page and found a folded piece of paper tucked inside.
House rules?
Finnley raised an eyebrow. He never thought he would have written something so childish before.
When he read the contents clearly, he couldn't help but laugh. No need to guess - these were definitely rules specifically set up for Sophia.
Just then, the bathroom door suddenly opened from inside, and Sophia walked out wearing a nightgown.
Her hair was still dripping wet, with a few thick, damp strands clinging to her cheeks, adding an indescribable allure.
The sexy red spaghetti-strap nightgown clung to her body, her fair, smooth shoulders exposed under the lights, so white they were almost dazzling.
Finnley looked up, his deep, dark gaze falling on Sophia. His sexy Adam's apple bobbed...
