Chapter 22 He Got into Trouble, I Will Make Sure You Die with Him!
Sophia frowned, obviously taken aback by the sheer distrust everyone had for her.
After a moment, she got it.
She had never shown her medical skills before.
But still, it was tough to swallow being doubted as a healer.
"I get it, you guys have your doubts, but Benjamin is hanging by a thread. You really wanna waste more time arguing with me?" Sophia's eyes narrowed as she scanned the room, finally locking onto Amelia.
The room went dead silent.
Benjamin was in critical shape, and who knew when Elijah Martinez would show up.
If they kept stalling, things could get really bad, really fast.
Sophia let out a cold laugh and started toward the room.
But as soon as she moved, someone grabbed her arm.
Sophia turned to see Amelia sneering, "I'm Benjamin's mother. I call the shots on who treats him! I don't see you as my daughter-in-law, and I'll never let you treat Benjamin!"
Amelia clutched Sophia's arm, clearly set on keeping her out.
Sophia was almost amused by Amelia's attitude.
She never thought a mother could be so desperate to see her own son suffer.
Compared to Olivia, Amelia was even worse!
Thinking about how Benjamin had been abandoned and hurt by Amelia, Sophia felt a sharp pain in her heart.
She looked at Amelia with a cold, mocking gaze, "Mother? Do you even deserve that title? Amelia, if anything happens to my husband, I'll make sure you pay for it with your life!"
With that, she shook off Amelia's arm and quickly walked inside.
The once neat room was now a disaster.
The lamp on the table had been thrown to the ground by Benjamin.
Expensive clothes were scattered everywhere.
The wardrobe had been knocked over and was leaning against the wall.
On the bed, the once-tall and stern Benjamin was now restrained.
His hands were cuffed to the bed frame, and his legs were tightly bound with ropes.
Benjamin's eyes were bloodshot, filled with a murderous rage, struggling desperately like a caged beast trying to escape.
Low, suppressed growls of pain filled the room.
This was the first time Sophia had seen Benjamin in the throes of his condition.
He was a completely different person from the gentle, smiling man she knew.
Sophia's heart ached, and she quickly walked to the bedside.
Two subordinates, seeing Sophia enter, immediately expressed their concern, "Mrs. White, please leave. When Mr. White is like this, he attacks anyone he sees. It took us a lot of effort to restrain him."
Sophia's eyes reddened slightly. She bit her lip, turned, and took a delicate box from her suitcase in the wardrobe. "Hold him down. I'm going to treat him."
"This…"
The two subordinates hesitated, exchanging uncertain glances.
Treating Benjamin was no small matter.
Even the experienced Elijah wouldn't attempt to treat him during his most violent episodes.
Could they trust Sophia?
"Do you have any other choice right now?" Sophia quickly took out medical supplies, her gaze icy as she looked at them.
"Let her try." A deep, resonant voice came from the doorway.
It was Preston, his tone firm and resolute.
"Let her try. If anything goes wrong, I'll take responsibility."
Amelia rushed to Preston's side, "Dad, do you really believe she has the skills? If something happens to Benjamin, her life won't be enough to compensate!"
Staring at Sophia's back, Amelia's heart filled with hatred.
This wretched girl, who had come out of nowhere, kept embarrassing her.
Today, she dared to threaten Amelia with accompanying Benjamin to the grave!
Seeing Sophia approach the bed, Amelia bit her lip, wishing she could see Benjamin, in his madness, tear Sophia apart.
A crazed Benjamin would attack anyone in sight.
Amelia had witnessed such a bloody and brutal scene firsthand.
After that, she had nightmares for a whole month.
Every night, she dreamed of Benjamin, covered in blood, walking towards her with eyes like a beast ready to pounce.
Since then, Amelia refused to acknowledge such a madman as her son.
Preston was unaware of Amelia's thoughts.
He stood straight, watching Sophia's back, his deep voice tinged with helplessness. "Let's give it a try. It's a gamble."
Inside the room, Sophia took out a Revival Elixir and placed it in Benjamin's mouth.
Benjamin's bloodshot eyes glared at Sophia, his expression ferocious as she approached.
Sophia gently touched his handsome face, "Does it hurt?"
Benjamin's violent struggles paused for a moment, then resumed with even more intensity.
Sophia caressed his face, confirming that Benjamin had heard her.
This meant his condition wasn't beyond hope.
She leaned down, planting a soft kiss on Benjamin's smooth forehead, whispering gently, "Don't be afraid, honey. I will always be with you. I'm going to treat you now, so don't move."
As Sophia leaned closer, a fleeting clarity passed through Benjamin's red eyes.
He gritted his teeth, the veins on his forehead bulging from the pain. "Go, leave..."
The broken words squeezed out from Benjamin's lips, followed by a pained groan.
Sophia understood.
He wanted her to leave.
He was afraid of hurting her.
"I'm not leaving! I will cure you!" Sophia's nose stung as she began the treatment.
Outside the room, everyone held their breath.
Any mistake from Sophia could cost Benjamin his life.
But Sophia's movements were astonishingly swift, without a trace of hesitation.
Her skillful actions seemed as if she had practiced them countless times.
Preston frowned.
Elijah had treated Benjamin this way before.
But each treatment was done with extreme caution.
Sophia's technique... it seemed more like she was playing a game, as if she wasn't saving a life.
"Dad, do you see? Sophia is just messing around!" Standing beside Preston, Amelia couldn't help but sneer after seeing Sophia's methods.
Her eyes were full of mockery as she looked at Sophia's back.
She was determined to drive this defiant, humiliating woman out of the White Family!
Hearing this, Preston felt his last bit of confidence waver.
He began to question if he had been too impulsive.
