Chapter 173 Cave
"Sophia, why are you still here? Didn't they say there's going to be another heavy rainstorm?"
As soon as Joshua walked into the tent, he saw Sophia changing into rescue clothes.
While he was speaking, Sophia was putting on a raincoat.
She slowly turned her head, "Joshua, Sawyer and Cillian haven't been found yet."
Joshua immediately understood what she wanted to do. He frowned disapprovingly, "It's too dangerous here. I don't agree with you going. The rescue team has arrived, they'll go look for them. Don't make things more complicated."
"I want to go find them myself, otherwise I won't feel at ease." Sophia bent down, shouldered a backpack, her tone firm, her clear eyes showing a serious expression.
Joshua: "...You're really something, won't even listen to me anymore? Go back now, this isn't a place for a girl to be."
Joshua lowered his eyes, his tone somewhat heavy, "Besides, the missing people aren't just Cillian and Sawyer, there are also two actresses and three extras."
Sophia wasn't surprised by his answer. She smiled lightly and patted the backpack behind her, "That's exactly why I need to stay. If we encounter any serious injuries, I can help out."
"You..."
Joshua didn't expect Sophia to be so stubborn.
He gritted his teeth, picked up another backpack from the ground, and walked outside, "If you're going, fine, but I'm coming with you. I won't stop you from trying to save people, but I need to make sure you're safe."
Sophia sighed helplessly and tried to persuade him softly, "Joshua, you should stay here. In case they come back on their own when the rain stops, you'll be here to receive them."
The veins on Joshua's temple tensed up, his lips pressed into a tight line, remaining silent without agreeing.
Sophia reached out and tugged at his sleeve, promising seriously, "Joshua, don't worry, I absolutely won't let anything happen to me! Sawyer is technically my blood-related second brother, and Cillian is Benjamin's brother. I can't just ignore them."
Seeing he couldn't persuade Sophia, Joshua sighed, "Cillian is one thing, but what is Sawyer to deserve your concern?"
Before the rainstorm, Matthew had come to the crew and told him everything that happened to Sophia.
So Joshua knew all about the grievances Sophia suffered at the Brown Villa.
Before that, Joshua had always admired Sawyer greatly. His acting skills were exceptional, the characters he portrayed were incredibly vivid, and at such a young age, he surpassed many actors in the entertainment industry who didn't properly hone their craft and were too impatient.
Unfortunately, he was from the Brown family.
After learning that Sawyer was Sophia's biological second brother, Joshua's attitude toward Sawyer turned sour, and the more he looked at him, the more displeasing he found him.
He wondered if everyone in the Brown family was blind, otherwise how could they mistake fish eyes for pearls?
Sophia smiled lightly and shook her head, her eyes calm and peaceful, showing no trace of sadness, "Joshua, those things are in the past, I don't care anymore. I've severed ties with the Brown family. To me, Sawyer is just an artist under StarVibe Entertainment, nothing more."
Joshua looked into Sophia's eyes, and seeing there was indeed no sadness in them, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He reached out and ruffled Sophia's hair, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly, "Having us is enough for you. They're blind and don't know how good you are. They'll regret it someday!"
After leaving the tent, when Sean learned she was going to help search for people, he immediately assigned several subordinates to go with her.
Sophia couldn't refuse and had to let them follow her.
But Vast Mountain was really too large, making it difficult to search for people. Moreover, after the rainstorm ended, several landslides and mudflows of various sizes had occurred on the mountain.
Several subordinates accidentally slipped and rolled down the slope.
Fortunately, they were trained and didn't suffer any serious injuries. They were also stopped by trees blown down by the storm and quickly came to a halt.
Sophia carefully walked down a few steps and reached out her hand to them, "Come up quickly."
Their eyes lit up, and they looked at Sophia gratefully, grabbing her arm and struggling to climb up.
After this ordeal, their clothes were covered in mud, but they couldn't care less about that.
Because the weather was changing.
The dark clouds that had finally dispersed were gathering again overhead.
Rumbles of thunder approached from the distance, and the sky grew darker and darker.
Only blue-purple lightning occasionally flashed through the thick clouds, looking particularly frightening.
"Miss, maybe we should go back, it's too dangerous here."
"It's about to rain, we can't go back now. Let's find a place to take shelter first." Sophia looked up at the sky, her expression growing increasingly grave.
They walked forward for a while longer when one of the subordinates suddenly exclaimed, pointing ahead, "Miss, look! There's a cave up ahead!"
Sophia looked in the direction the person was pointing and her eyes immediately brightened, "Let's go check it out."
The cave was hidden among the mountain forest, with many trees blocking it, making it easy to overlook.
Sophia led several subordinates toward the cave.
The cave wasn't very large, and inside it was pitch black with no visible light.
Sophia immediately took out a flashlight from her bag and shone it into the cave.
At that moment, a sound suddenly came from inside. Everyone outside the cave tensed up, staring at the entrance.
"Could it be a wild animal? I heard there are many wild animals on Vast Mountain..."
He didn't continue, but his voice was already trembling.
"Don't be afraid, don't make any sudden moves." Sophia raised her hand to those behind her, signaling them not to move forward.
Hearing Sophia's voice, everyone's panicked hearts seemed to calm down.
Looking at Sophia's slender figure, they felt they had found their anchor, and their hearts gradually settled.
"Is someone there?"
Just as Sophia was hesitating whether to go in, a weak and feeble voice suddenly came from inside the cave.
Sophia's heart suddenly clenched, and she quickened her pace toward the cave.
Seeing this, her subordinates immediately followed.
Entering the cave, Sophia finally saw the figure inside by the light of her flashlight.
It was Sawyer, who had been missing for two days. In the corner, there was another person curled up, whose face couldn't be seen clearly.
The person was covered with a thin jacket. Judging from the build, it should be a man.
Sophia guessed this person was probably Cillian.
But it was just her guess.
When Sawyer heard footsteps outside, his eyes immediately brightened.
The rainstorm on Vast Mountain came suddenly, without any warning. Sawyer and Cillian, taking advantage of a break from filming, had wandered around the mountain.
The air here was good, and with no signal in the mountains, they could temporarily forget about all the troubles in the entertainment industry.
