Chapter 52
Sherry sensed that Clarence was referring to her. "Stella, what happened?" she questioned, glancing at Stella.
Stella had a jumbled mind. "Nothing, I..."
Clarence gave a snort. He looked away and then strode off.
Stella wanted to murder this miserable man! Just a few sentences had put suspicions on him. Then he pivoted and walked away. Sherry was no idiot. As she considered Clarence's remarks, Jolie's provocative actions, and Liam's irrational actions, she also remembered Stella's earlier reminder.
Sherry immediately became calm. "Stella, please show me the video."
It was Liam who became frightened initially. It never occurred to him that Stella would have videotaped the crucial piece of evidence.
He pulled Sherry quickly. "Babe, let's go home..."
Sherry used strength to shake off his hands. "Don't touch me!" She gave him a smile and remarked, "You look so frightened now. I don't think seeing the video is required. Would you like to come clean or should I find the bitch and ask the two of you to face each other?"
"It's not what you think, baby. She is unrelated to me in any way. I simply..."
"I am aware. You simply couldn't keep your little party under control, could you? Liam, fantastic! You are really naughty to me!"
"Please listen..."
Sherry inhaled deeply before stating icily, "Fuck off now! Otherwise, I'll tell everyone you know about your affair. You will get fired a lot!"
Liam clenched his jaw and decided swiftly. As soon as he was gone, Stella muttered, "Sherry..."
Sherry turned to face Horace and her. She tried to grin. "Don't worry. I'm alright. It's advantageous for me to be aware of his identity so that I was prepared with her words.”
Sherry had been planning to wed Liam recently. Sherry went on, "I'm going home now. Liam Keith's belongings need to be packed as quickly as feasible. Please, Horace, could you send Stella home?"
"Sure."
Stella tugged at her. "Sherry, please let me stay with you."
"No, thanks, Stella." Sherry grinned. "I was simply duped. It is not significant. Go home and make an early bedtime. I am able to manage it on my own.”
She finished her sentence and waved to them as she went off. Her inflamed eyes were visible to Stella.
Horace reassured her, saying, "Stella, don't worry. She will be alright.”
Stella nodded, unable to say anything. She was among those who saw Sherry and Liam fall in love. She had no idea how things would work out for them.
Horace's phone rang at that very moment. Annie had called after being unable to locate him anywhere. Horace scowled and hung up right away.
When Stella came to, she remarked, "Horace, you don't have to send me home. I am able to return home on my own."
"But, Stella..."
Stella grinned. "I must go. Goodbye.”
Just as Horace turned to face her, his phone rang once more. Stella had entered the elevator when he was taking a call.
Nathan was standing in the restaurant's courtyard.
He approached Stella after spotting her. "Good evening, Ms. Radomil."
"Where is your Mr. Conrad?"
Nathan stole a step back, seeing her angry gaze. "Mr. Conrad is waiting for you in the car."
Stella didn't turn around as she made her way to the most noticeable Rolls Royce. Clarence was hunching over in the automobile, leafing through documents. The back door was ajar, but he didn't glance up at the intruder.
After giving him a couple glares, Stella leaned in and took a seat. She forcefully shut the door.
With a small grimace, Clarence cast an angry glance at her.
"Mr. Conrad, I am aware that you never hesitate to act without considering the opinions of others. Did you just act a little nosy?"
Calmly closing the documents in front of him, Clarence inquired, "Are you here to question me?"
in a casual manner. Stella gave a smirk. "No, I'm not. Mr. Conrad, I simply think you shouldn't have carelessly around people you don't know well."
She was not someone Clarence wanted to listen to. He said, "I thought you came here to explain why you haven't eaten for two days and washed your hair for a week."
Stella was inconsolable. This was something she had all but forgotten about. She didn't appear as haughty right away. "I came out for dinner because I haven't eaten in two days," she gently excused herself.
Clarence gave a snort. "Stella, do you think I'm that stupid?"
There was a little pause before Stella said, "I'll move tomorrow."
"Go now."
"But it's so late now..."
"Has it impacted your date with Horace Jason?" The tone of the wretched man was harsh.
Stella refused to acknowledge her loss. "Exactly." The temperature in the Rolls Royce quickly fell as she replied.
Nathan could not help but shiver from his position 10 meters away from the car. Stella felt OK, therefore it was probably only because a pregnant woman's body temperature was higher. Brazenly, she inquired, "May I go now? I am still out on a date.”
"Have you admitted it?" questioned Clarence icily.
"What?"
"You divorced me because you want to be with Horace Keith."
After a brief period of shock, Stella retorted, "If you believed so, I can't do anything about it."
Phoebe left the restaurant as the tension in the car grew more and more intense. She noticed Clarence's car was parked here and that his helper was also waiting. Nathan gave her a small nod upon seeing her. "Good evening, Miss Steward."
Phoebe took a quick look at the black Rolls Royce. "Is Clarence in?"
"Yes, he is."
"All right. I would like to inquire about something with him. Phoebe started to move forward, but Nathan stopped her. "Miss Steward, might you kindly wait a moment? Mrs. Conrad is conversing with Mrs. Conrad?"
Phoebe furrowed her lovely eyebrows. She quickly realized to whom he was referring.
"Haven't they got divorced?"
Nathan found it difficult to understand Mr. Conrad's erratic thinking. The Rolls Royce's rear door opened while he was considering how he should respond.
Phoebe looked at Stella's vanishing form and pursed her lips slightly. She squeezed her fingers into fists subconsciously. They were already divorced. Why would Stella still bother Clarence, she wondered.
Was it as a result of... Phoebe remembered Stella from when she'd met her in the ICU; her eyes went black. Phoebe thought Stella was a very cunning woman if she became pregnant after marrying Clarence and he was the baby's father. She would need Clarence for more things now, wouldn't she, because she could use her pregnancy as a reason to compel him into marriage three years ago?
Nathan said, "Miss Steward, please pardon me. Kindly give it a moment. I will let Mr. Conrad know that...”
"No, thanks," Phoebe grinned and declined. “It's not a very significant issue. I suddenly realized that my belongings are upstairs. I have to return."
Even though Nathan thought she was quite strange, he didn't press. "All right," he said. “Goodbye, Miss Steward.”
