Chapter 29
Karin's POV
Oh my God, what the hell was Adrien doing here? I stepped back from the blond god, and he grabbed me and pulled me back toward him. “Don’t,” he snapped.
“Don’t you,” Adrien growled. He pulled me out of the guy’s arms and held me against his chest. “I said she’s with me,” he repeated.
The guy stared at me, and I nodded softly. I didn’t want any trouble, and I just wanted this guy to disappear. “I’m with him,” I whispered.
With one last look between Adrien and me, he turned and stormed off toward the bar. I turned my attention to Adrien Vale, the infuriating prick, and I pulled out of his arms. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“What do you think you’re fucking doing?” he growled.
“Don’t you swear at me.”
“You came here to pick up a man?”
I put my hands on my hips in outrage. “I came here to dance. What are you doing here?”
“I’m here with my brothers.”
“So go back to your brothers and ruin their fun,” I huffed. I went to turn, and he grabbed my arms, pulled me to the side of the dance floor, and pushed me up against the wall.
His body covered mine, and I felt his hard erection up against my stomach. We stared at each other, and instantly the air between us changed.
“Don’t,” I whispered up at him.
“Don’t what?”
“Hypnotize me with that magical dick.”
He gave me a cheeky wink. “You’ve got that the wrong way around, baby. I’m the only one who’s hypnotized around here,” he whispered as he leaned down toward me. His tongue slowly slid through my lips. He kissed me again, with just the right amount of suction, and my knees began to buckle beneath me.
Dear God . . . the man could kiss.
“Adrien,” I breathed against him. “We shouldn’t.” His hands roamed up and down my body, and God, he felt so good.
“Don’t fight me on this,” he murmured as he ground me up against the wall with his hips.
“I can’t.”
“You can, and you will. Why would you deny your body what it so desperately needs from me?”
Oh God, he was so right. My body did need his body . . . hard. So fucking hard.
Our kiss turned desperate, and my hands went to his hair. I knew this was crazy, but I wanted him . . . all of him, and not just his body.
For a long time, we kissed like we were the only two people left on earth. Hidden up against the wall, his body grinding on mine. Two bodies chasing their own pleasure in the darkness.
“I need you,” he murmured against my lips.
I panted as his open mouth dropped to my neck. God . . . the way he touched me was just so . . . “Adrien.”
“Now.” He pinned me to the wall, and I felt his cock pulse.
Jesus, he was close. He did need me.
“My place,” he panted against my lips.
“My place,” I fired back.
“No, my place,” he demanded.
I pulled back to look at his face. “It’s my place or nothing. Take it or leave it.”
He clenched his jaw; it was obvious he hated losing a fight . . . any fight. “Fine.” He grabbed my hand. “This way.”
“No.” I pulled my hand out of his grip. “I don’t want anyone to see us.” He frowned in question.
“You’re my boss,” I reminded him. “I’m here with work friends.”
He rolled his eyes. “Fine. Go and say goodbye, and I’ll wait for you downstairs. You have two minutes before I come up and drag you out.” He gave me a long, lingering kiss, and I turned, and he swatted me on the behind.
Adrenaline coursed through my veins as I walked over to my friends.
He was here. I was going with him. It was on.
Excitement filled me, and I tried to act casual.
“Hey, where’s the god?” Renee asked.
“Oh.” I frowned. “He was a dick,” I lied.
Aline rolled her eyes. “Typical. Men who look that good can’t be blessed with brains too.”
I smirked. I knew someone who was blessed with both, but I kept that under my hat. I looked over and saw Adrien walking toward the elevator, and he gave me the hurry-up look. I smiled; the pull to him was strong.
“Guys, I’m going to go.”
“What?” Their faces fell. “Why? The night is young.”
“I know. I’ve had such a great time, but my feet are killing me. These stupid new shoes are hell on earth. Next weekend I’ll make it up to you. I promise. I’ll just jump in a cab downstairs.”
“Okay.” They rolled their eyes and kissed me on the cheek.
“Text me when you get home,” Aline said.
“I will.” I smiled, grateful that they weren’t bothered at all. “Thanks for asking me to come.”
Two guys walked up to us, and the girls both smiled broadly. I took that as my out. “See you,” I called as I walked toward the elevator.
“Bye,” they called.
I jumped in the elevator. “Where to?” the attendant asked.
“Ground floor.” He pushed the button, and we made our descent. My heart hammered in my chest. Adrien Vale made me nervous as all hell. I couldn’t remember when a man had made me this excited to get him alone.
Act cool . . . just act cool.
The elevator doors opened, and I walked out and looked around. Where was he?
I continued through the foyer and peered out to the busy street; I couldn’t see him. What the hell? Had he left without me?
“Lose something?” a deep voice asked from behind me.
