Chapter 78 CHAPTER 78
"I just got a call from one of the council members to let me know when you get there your going to be arrested and taken into criminal court where Tod will present documents and the charges against you will be dropped. Then you and I will go into the council chambers you will sit beside me when we take our chairs to hear evidence against the pack." Garrison told me.
"It is stupid that they are going to arrest me, they have the criminal who attacked that pack." I said. Annoyed.
"I know, put until Tod testifies your still charged with harboring a fugitive. They did not tell anyone where they found Hal and the others. You could get in trouble for having them in your dungeon." He said.
"Hal came trying to get Raven, and the others attacked us. I'm with in my legal right to protect my pack." I told him.
"I agree but other may not. So, where they were found is not being disclosed to council members." Garrison said.
"I hate this council shit; we are supposed to be invisible to other." I said.
"Times have changed since your grandfather's, even your father's time. You have to accept that you can't live in the past. You need to embrace who you are as a people and become known to everyone. " Garrison said. I looked at him shocked he would say that.
"You pack will never grow powerful and strong waiting for wonders to come home. Look at Raven you almost lost her before you ever found her. How many have died trying to get home. Your grandfather was an idiot, and you know it." Garrison said getting out the whiskey and pouring us each a glass before we go to council. As soon as we walked in sure enough Tod and Sands approached us.
"Alpha Titan you are under arrest for the harboring of a criminal." Tod said and put me in cuffs. Then led me to a court room. There was only one judge.
"Detective Tod is this the man?" The judge asked.
"Yes, judge this is Alpha Titan." Tod said.
"Pleasure to meet you Alpha Titan. How do you plead?" He asked.
"Not guilty." I said.
"Judge here are the file to prove Alpha Titan is in fact not guilty," Tod said handing the judge a bunch of papers. After about ten minutes the judge put down the papers and looked at me.
"Sorry to inconvenience you Alpha Titan you are free to go. Tod file this paper and give a copy to Alpha Titan. Next case." The Judge said. Tod took off the cuff and took me out.
"I will have the papers sent to you, you should join Garrison over there good Luck, witnesses’ testimonies can be so boring. If you ever need us I will put my direct line on your copy of this release form. Have a great day," he said and walked away. I walked over to Garrison who handed me a black rob. Then we went and sat at desks three high and six on either side of a large chair. Once we were all seated. A man stood in the middle of the room yelling all stand. We all stood.
"High councillor Heart, will hear these testimonies for this case." The man said. When the High Counciler was seated. He waved us to be seated.
"Ladies and gentlemen I understand this will be a long process but keep in mind happened over a number of years, please be patient with the witnesses." The High councillor said. One after another after another woman came up into the witnesses’ box and told their story. We broke for lunch at two then were back in the court room by three.
"I would like to call Hawkins to the stand."
A man stood and walked to the stand he was shaking. They swore him in.
"Hawkins how old were you when you worked as a patrol guard for the pack." The prosecutor asked.
"In my twenty third year sir." Hawkins said.
"Please describe what happened the first time you realized what was going on." The prosecutor told him.
"I was on patrol of the front gate on night shift; the trucks were going out somewhere as the usually did once a month. Alpha stopped his truck and told me to get in the white van the driver would tell me what I would need to. I did as I was told and got into the white van. The drive gave me a clipboard and told me to get names and birthdates. That we were not to leave the truck. We went to the first pack and that was when I realized they were taking women from other packs and bring them to ours. I was freaking out. I wanted nothing to do with it. The drive pulled out a gun and told me names and birthdates. I did what I was told to do. Then we went to the last pack the houses were search and they brought out one female. Before Alpha put her in the truck he told her she would benefit from giving up some other females.
She gave him the names Clare and Raven. After a time were brought to our truck I don't know where he put the first female. As we drove to leave Alpha stopped us and he talked to the Alpha of the pack house and talked to the Alpha who pointed to a man. The Alpha then pointed his gun at the man and shot him in the head. One of the girls Raven started screaming. I could do nothing but sit there with a gun pointed at me." The man Hawkins started to cry uncontrollably.
"Ten minutes recess?” the prosecutor asked, the Judge granted it. I was so angry this was one of the men who took Raven from her mother and brother. Watched her father get shot. My wolf was forward I wanted to jump out of my seat and kill him. Garrison grabbed my arm.
"Why are you growing Titan?" He asked. He took Raven my Raven watched her father get shot and did nothing." I said growling.
"Pull yourself together, or we will never get the information we need." Garrison said.
"Councillors is there an issue over there?" High Counciler asked
"No sir, Garrison told him. Sorry for the disturbance. I mean it Titan push him down."
I told Thunder to back down he argued with me but finally did. I knew what had happened but to hear it from someone who was responsible made my blood boil. When we returned to hear the testimony of this Hawkins and the Clare and others I could not concentrate every word they said made me more angry. When we left for the night and went to the hotel I finally got a chance to call Raven. I sat on the bed with a large whiskey in my hand and waited for Roman to pick up.
"Hello,?" Roman said.
"Hi, Roman, can I please talk to Raven?" I asked.
