Chapter 49 CHAPTER 49
Hawkins ran with us. That is when things started to change my body changed. I had Spirit, she is my wolf. I started doing strange things. Having strange feelings. Spirit started telling me we had to leave and start our journey home. That I would have many trials along the way. I was aware that Hawkins was my mate. One night at the place we were stopped for days because of the snow thing got a bit out if hand between Hawkins and me. I asked him to come to my room after everyone had gone to bed. But he didn't. I felt rejected. So, when we went back on the road I had planned my escape. Spirit had taught me how to make illusions. So, when the truck blew a tire. I had nothing do with that. I made my escape in the middle of a snowstorm. But before I left I stood at the edge of the forest line and rejected Hawkins like he had me. As I walked away I could hear him howling in pain, and I smiled." I told Luna then took a drink of my coffee.
"From your drawings you hurt for a long time. But I see in between you were drawing Titan." I said.
"I had no idea who he was or why I was drawing him. But he grew depressed over the period I drew him. I wondered what he was looking for when he stood at the window for hours." Raven said with sympathy for Titan.
"Well, now you know he had been waiting for you Raven. I said to her.
Sprite told me she was not permitted to help me other than heal me on my final test. But she interfered and protected me from the last part of the beating. She ended up blind too. I heard nothing from her for a month I thought she was gone. But she can see now and I can't. She is my eyes sometimes, but she has told me I have to learn to use my other senses in place if my eyes. Dr. Michael think my blindness is temporary, but I know it is not. Luna Loira, no one will accept a blind rouge as their Luna. That is why I must reject Titan so he can have a proper Luna for the pack." Raven said and started to cry.
"Raven do you feel the mate bond?" I asked.
She just nodded her head and pointed to the easel. I went over to it.
"Are you sure you want me to look at it?" I asked.
"Yes," was all she said. I lifted the cloth that was covering it. The picture shocked me. Raven and Titan stood in front of the pack house in wedding attire what was so shocking was the people from the pack were gathered and were throwing rotten food at Raven. I covered the picture back up.
"May I ask you something Raven. Do the thing you draw always happen?" I asked. Raven cried and nodded. I went and took her into my arms.
"You know we can always change what has not happened yet." I told her. Her mood did not change. I called Michael and had him come give her a mild sedative to help her rest. I had Kendra come help me change her into a long white night gown and put her to bed. I kissed her forehead good night. I sat in the overstuffed chair all night. Watching over Raven wondering what other gifts she had and where was her mother and brother now? They needed to come home. Did her mother possess the same abilities? Were there more like Raven out there who had not made it home? I had so many questions. Titan woke me it was eight in the morning.
"Mother did you stay here all night?" He asked.
"Yes son, I hope you brought us hot coffee and breakfast?" I asked him.
"Valen is on his way up with it now. Did you have a good talk last night?" he asked, sitting in the chair beside me.
"Yes we did, go easy on her Titan she has been through so much. Oh, I found out last night her blindness is permanent." I told him.
"How, did you find that out?" He questioned.
"That will be up to Raven to tell you, you have a long way to gaining her trust again after last night." I said my voice almost cracking as I was on the verge of tear I could feel her pain; we had made a connection last night that is very rare in other packs.
"Mother are you okay?" Titan asked. Valen was just coming in with the coffee and breakfast, and Raven was just starting to stir. I got up and went to her bedside so Titan could not see the tear that escaped my eye.
"I'm fine, please pour Raven and I some coffee? I put my hand on Ravens shoulder then helped her with her house coat and slipper.
"You go do you business in the bathroom I will have your breakfast and coffee on the coffee table." I told her.
"Thank you, Luna" Raven said. Then gave me a tight hug, Before making her way to the bathroom.
"Good morning Alpha and Valen." Raven said as she passed the sitting area. Titan looked like he was getting up set. I gave him a look and he stopped.
"Good morning Raven." He said instead. I linked him.
"You best heed what I told you son." I told him.
"Yes Mother, I hate her calling me that she is my mate."
"Starting over suck doesn't it. You should have thought of that before you hurt her." I said and closed the link. Giving him a smile for everyone to see. Raven came out and I took her to the couch showed her were he coffee and food was then sat back in the chair beside Titan’s. Sipping on my coffee waiting to see how this was going to go.
RAVEN'S POV
I could not believe Titan was in my room before I even woke up. Maybe he came to see his Mother. I knew Luna has spent the night in the chair I had woke up and I could hear her sleeping. I rolled over and had gone back to sleep. I picked up my coffee and sipped it. I was not really hungry, but I tore off a piece of the toast and nibbled on it. There was an uncomfortable silence in the room.
"Did you have a good sleep, Raven?" Titan asked me.
"Yes, thank you for asking Alpha Titan." I answered. I knew he hated me calling him Alpha, but it was pack ways. I saw his face turn red.
"Is there something wrong Alpha Titan?" I asked. I could see him trying to control his anger.
