Chapter 44 CHAPTER 44
I could smell wolf on him. But not of him. That was his second mistake coming here to my office.
"Alpha Titan is it. Let me get straight to the point I request you turn over the fugitive rouge you are harboring." He said to me.
I went behind my desk and sat down in my chair. My men took their places in the room.
"Tell me how did you find my pack?" I asked him. He looked me in the eyes.
"We have been searching for it for a while." He said. Lance came into the office. Alpha Hal looked at him and offered his hand.
"My name is Alpha Hal; it is a pleasure to meet you." Hal said if that was his name. Lance ignored his hand as well. Lance linked me.
"There is no record of an Alpha Hal anywhere on this continent." He said and closed the link.
"Where is you pack? Alpha Hal." I asked.
"We are temporarily up in the caves northwest of here." He said.
"Why are you in caves?" I asked.
"The woman you are harboring and her rouge friend killed most of our pack including our Alpha Luna and Beta. Those who were left made me acting Alpha for the time being." He said with confidence that I would believe him. We had heard of a pack a couple of years ago being wiped out. Maybe some had escaped. But I refused to believe Raven had anything to-do with it. Lance was busy confirming his story on the council website.
"If what you say is true how many Rouges were there? And why single out one?" I asked.
"There were a large group of them, the woman was their leader." He again weaved another round in his web of lies. I linked Valen.
"Can you please ask Raven 2 years ago how many rouges she was with. I asked him and waited for him to give me her answer. Just the five of them the woman Imara, herself and the three men, Alpha."
"Thank you I told him and closed the link."
"Let me tell you what we know Hal. Your pack was attacked. But according to the recordings of the high council there were no rouges in your area. Also, your pack allies say it had to be an inside job, as you Alpha was a kind and gentle Alpha." I told him. The look on his face changed from confidence to fright.
"You made a mistake coming here to my pack demanding that I hand over my mate and our Luna. Tell me are you even a werewolf Hal?" I asked. He swallowed hard and went to get up.
"You are wrong. That woman attacked our pack. I demand by law her brought to me to pay for her crimes." I stood my wolf came forward.
"Where do you think your going Hal?" I asked as he was moving backwards towards the door.
"Put him in the dungeon. Then scout the outer perimeter of the pack lands I'm sure he did not come alone. Kale and Deisel grabbed him and dragged him from the office. Lance was busy having the warriors and scouts sent out to find the people he came with. When he was finished. I told him about reassigning Valen to be Raven bodyguard and about her little adventure a few hours ago.
"She is getting more confident. She just had no idea what she was walking into." I told him.
"Valen is a good choice. He will be good for her, and she will keep him busy with his son mated and not available much having all those children." Lance said.
"Hopefully not that good for her." I said Lance laughed at me.
"This is embarrassing but I have to tell you this Lance. Last night after you all left Raven wanted to go to sleep. I helped her into bed. Then laid on top of the covers beside her. She lost it on me. Yelled I was not sleeping in the same bed as her. I thought she was messing around she counted to three saying she would not be responsible for what happened to me. I didn't heed her warnings. Her eyes turned deep purple and she some how threw me across the room. My head still hurts where It hit the wall." I told him.
"Is that was what that loud noise was last night." Lance said laughing.
I'm going to go shower and get dressed then check on Raven." I told him getting up from my desk.
"Aww, I thought pajamas was the new look for the office." he laughed as I went out the door.
RAVEN'S POV
It was mid afternoon Titan, and I were not really talking. Valen had gone off to do some other duties. Clare was given the afternoon off. I got one of my new book and closed my eyes and let my mind take over the pencil. Titan was working on his computer doing what I did not know. He never talked about pack business with me, which was fine. I had finished the drawing and put the book away. I was just getting up to use the washroom when there was a knock at the door.
"I will get it!" Titan said
"Thank you." I replied and went into the washroom after I did my business and washed and dried my hand I went back to the sitting area of my room. My foot got caught on something and I went headfirst into the coffee table.
"Raven, are you ok? What happened?" Luna Loria asked helping me up, with Kendra's help.
"I tripped over something." I told her.
"I could feel and smell the blood running down my face. Titan came in off the balcony; he was talking on his phone. He either did not notice Kendra cleaning the cut on my head or after last night did not care which was fine with me. I could feel tension in the room from Luna Loria and Kenda they were upset.
"Tea and lunch is on the way up. Kendra let me see how bad it is." Luna said to her daughter. She looked at me head and put a cool cloth on it.
"The bleeding has stopped it will be tender for a couple of days." Luna told me. I could hear Titan walking around the room he was getting upset with someone on the phone.
Kendra sat down beside me.
"Mother is in the chair across from us. She is waiting for Titan to get off the phone. She is angry with him." She said quietly.
"Why?" I asked.
"You will find out in a minute. What was that loud bang in here last night it shook my walls six doors down." Kendra asked.
"Titan hit a wall," was all I would say.
