Chapter 631 Meeting Victoria

Chapter 631 Meeting Victoria

I originally thought this trip to Everglade City was just for relaxation, but I didn't expect to get a call from an unknown number.

"Hey, it's Victoria. Matthew must've told you, right? I'm in Everglade City for a commercial shoot, and he said you could look after me."

As soon as I answered the call, Victoria's voice came through. Hearing her voice made me frown. This was a blatant provocation.

"Just to set the record straight, Matthew didn't tell me to look after you."

No sooner had I said that than my phone buzzed with a message from Matthew. Reading the message made me even angrier.

Matthew: [Victoria is in Everglade City. Please take care of her. She's very picky about accommodations, so make sure to find her the best hotel. I'll cover all the expenses.]

After reading it, I wanted to throw my phone, but I quickly realized that I had bought it with my own money. Breaking it would only hurt me, so I dismissed the idea.

"Looks like you got the message. How about you treat me to dinner tonight? And I need your help finding a good hotel. I don't know which ones are good here."

"Fine, I'll send you the location. You can come find me."

I sent Victoria the address of my new company, planning to take her to the cafeteria for dinner when she arrived. As for the hotel, Seraphic Heights Hotel would do. Even though Trent had been arrested, the hotel was still operating. I had heard from the five bosses during their casual chats that Seraphic Heights Hotel was about to be renamed.

I asked Maria to book a deluxe room at Seraphic Heights Hotel and requested the cafeteria to prepare a few extra dishes for dinner. Although I wanted to give Victoria a bit of a hard time by making her eat at the cafeteria, I still wanted the food to be good. After all, I had to eat too.

Victoria arrived at the new company soon enough. When she called, I deliberately didn't answer. To my surprise, she showed up at my office.

"Since you're busy, I thought I'd come to find you," Victoria said with a smug smile. Her smile was full of pride and hostility. Honestly, I found these two emotions to be quite contradictory. She was proud because she thought she had the upper hand with Matthew. If she had already won him over, there would be no need for hostility towards me, right? Conversely, if she was hostile, what was she so proud of?

Thinking this way made me feel a lot better, so I smiled and said, "I'm not busy, I just didn't want to come to greet you. We'll be eating at the cafeteria. You can choose to leave now if you don't want to."

Maybe she already knew what I was planning, but when I said we'd be eating at the cafeteria, she still frowned slightly and stubbornly said, "The cafeteria is fine. I'm tired of fancy food. A change of pace will be nice."

I initially thought that a big star like Victoria wouldn't be able to handle cafeteria food and would be unhappy once inside. But I was wrong.

Victoria was the kind of person who could enjoy both high-end restaurants and street food. After a brief moment of discomfort, she quickly adjusted and naturally joined me in the cafeteria, eating with great relish.

She even praised the chef, who eventually recognized her and insisted on getting her autograph. Once she signed, word spread quickly that Victoria was eating in the cafeteria, making the already crowded place even more packed. Even the five bosses, who never ate in the cafeteria, came to join the fun.

Watching them get excited over Victoria's autograph, I was unimpressed. I didn't understand the whole celebrity worship thing. If I were to idolize someone, it certainly wouldn't be Victoria. I didn't even think she was better-looking than me.

If I were to idolize someone, it would be someone like Matthew, a real heartthrob. Right?
