Chapter 26: Everything Good!

I woke up after exactly an hour and sighed. I have to go to the hospital.

I took my bag and headed towards the hospital. I had already combed my hair, otherwise, I would look like a monster!

I entered and went inside Daniel’s ward. He was sleeping. 

I smiled at him. I don’t know why I did it, but I did. Then I went and sat on the bed beside him. Yeah, there were two beds. One for the family too. The only thing was that it was on the ground. It was foldable so that it can be arranged to be kept aside during the day.

I closed my eyes after laying down on that bed. It was a good feeling. Maybe because I was tired.

“Why are you here?” I heard him and opened my eyes. My eyes were filled with sleep and I wanted to sleep so badly. I couldn’t even keep them open properly. I yawned.

“Hm?” I repeated.

“Why are you here?” 

I looked up at him. He was looking at the ceiling. I sighed. “because I am your wife and you need me”

“Despite what I did to you?”

“Yes”

“Why?”

“I don’t know. I wish I knew”

“Do you hate yourself for caring so much for someone who hurt you so badly?”

“Nope!”

He sighed and I looked down. “Are you sleepy?”

“Oh-- oh maybe. Why?” 

“Nothing. We will talk tomorrow. Sleep”

“Alright”

I closed my eyes and fell asleep immediately. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, once I am sleepy, I will sleep.

I woke up to the sounds of the surroundings. I opened my eyes and saw the time on my phone. 6 AM. 

I sighed. Why does the hospital make so much noise at such an early time? They should let everyone sleep till 12 or something. They will recover fast.

“Awake?”

I looked at my right side, he was there, standing. 

“You should sit down and have a rest. What are you doing?” I raised an eyebrow and stood up. he is so stupid to stand like this.

“Well, just exercising”

“Exercising!? What the hell is wrong with you?”

“Nothing,” he smirked. “Why?”

“You are ill. You were shot! You need to rest”

“Yeah, that’s what I am saying. I was just shot. Nothing else”

“So what else do you want?”

He sighed. “You are asking silly questions--”

“Oh you should sit down” 

He sighed again and nodded. “Okay, Mrs. Sullivan''

I blushed. He is so stupid. he calls me whatever he wants to, anywhere. He should at least be in limits here!

“uh uh yeah”

He smiled and sat down on the bed. I sighed in relief. He is so stupid. What if he has a stretch? or a seizure? He should at least think about me if no one else!

“So, yeah. Why were you here yesterday?”

“We have talked that before”

“Yeah, we sure have”

“Then?”

“Tell me, Kate. What do I mean to you?”

Avril

I smiled and left her house. I was really excited to talk to him. How happy would he be after talking to me? I mean, I just remember his face after my reply. He was so sad. but I hope he knows that it was a lie because I actually like him.

I was moving towards my car when suddenly someone grabbed me from behind. I turned around and saw him. Eric.

“hey” I wished him.

“Hey. Were you waiting for me?”

I got a little away because he was near to me. “N-no”

“Then?” 

I sighed. “I was not waiting for anyone”

He looked into my eyes. “Avril. Your reply?”

“You know--”

“Don’t tell me you don’t like me at all” He sighed.

I sighed too. I like you, but what if you hurt me?

“uh...” 

He made a cute face.

“Tell me that you like me girl” he smirked.

“Ah first get aside”

“What? No way! Tell me first”

I sighed. I wish I knew what was correct at that time. But I had no idea and I knew I had to listen to my heart because what matters is that we get happiness in this life. And he looked like no danger anyway. 

“Okay… I am gonna tell you, get ready”

“I am ready”

I sighed. “I like you”

He looked at me and then smirked. I looked at him suspiciously. He pulled me close and kissed me. I kissed him back, even though it was unexpected. 

I got away but his hand was still on my neck. He looked in my eyes with love. I just stood there with a smile on my face. 

He smiled back at me. 

“Thanks, Avril”

“Why thanks? 

“I don’t know. Maybe for being my biggest happiness?”

“That’s so sweet, you know?”

“I do”

I laughed and he did too. He just looked at me and traced my face.

“I never wanna lose you”

“Me neither”

“Oh, you also know how to express love?” He acted shocked. “WOW! How?”

“Huh!” I looked away and he smiled and kept my face between his hands. I looked at him. “What?” I asked.

“Are you angry?”

“Yes”

“Oh, how can I make it up to you?”

“By loving you”

“I love you”

“Then I am not angry. Will never be”

He smiled and I saw a little blush going to his neck. I smiled.

“You are blushing”

“Can’t I?”

“Of course you can”

He smiled and took my hand. “So, plan on spending the day with me?”

“Sure”
