Chapter 249 Losing Rationality
The moment Anna saw Cecilia, her eyes flashed with seething hatred.
She shot her friend a knowing look.
Her friend caught the hint immediately and raised her voice, shouting at a young waitress passing by, "Hey! Come here!"
The waitress was a recent graduate on an internship. Startled by the shout, she flinched and hurried over. "Miss, how can I help you?"
"What kind of attitude is that!" Another socialite jabbed her finger at the table. "Where's our coffee? It's been ten minutes and still nothing?"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry. We have a lot of customers today. I'll check on it right away." The waitress apologized quickly.
"So, having a lot of customers is an excuse? Are we just regular customers?" Anna took over, her voice laced with arrogance. "Do you know who we are? Get your boss out here. I want to ask her if this is how she treats VIP guests."
The waitress was so scared she was almost in tears, standing there completely at a loss.
Cecilia saw everything clearly from the second floor, her eyes cold as ice.
She knew Anna was still as shameless as ever.
She walked down the stairs and came to their table.
"My restaurant serves customers, not VIPs." Cecilia first patted the visibly shaken waitress on the shoulder, signaling her to step back, then looked at Anna.
"Ms. Clark, the Clark family is bankrupt, yet you're still acting like a spoiled heiress. Can you even afford to pay for this meal today?"
"You!" Anna was hit where it hurt, her face instantly flushing red. "Amelia, don't get cocky! You damn bitch! If it weren't for you, the Clark family wouldn't be like this!"
"Did I tell you to hire someone to kill people? Or did I tell you to lose control on that cruise?" Cecilia's voice remained calm, but every word made Anna's face burn. "Anna, be reasonable. Your family ended up like this, not because of me, but because of your own stupidity and cruelty."
"I'm stupid? I'm cruel?" Anna thought this was ridiculous. She jumped up and pointed right in Cecilia's face, screaming, "No matter how cruel I am, I'm nothing compared to you, you bitch! You used dirty tricks to seduce Stefan and deceive Ms. Saunders. You're the most disgusting person!"
Cecilia couldn't be bothered to waste time with her.
She crossed her arms and looked at Anna coldly. "Are you done? If you're done, take your people and get out. My restaurant doesn't welcome you."
She waved at the security guard nearby. "Security, please escort these ladies out. They're disrupting the restaurant and trying to dine and dash. If they resist, call the police and charge them with causing trouble."
"How dare you!" Anna was furious. She didn't expect Amelia to show her such disrespect.
Just as the security guard approached to grab Anna, she saw Dione walking toward them, and her eyes lit up.
She grabbed onto her last hope, broke free from the guard's grip, and clutched at Dione's leg.
"Ms. Saunders! Ms. Saunders, please save me!" Anna cried pitifully. "Look at her! Look at this cruel woman, Amelia! She's humiliating me in public and having security throw me out! This is how she treats customers! She doesn't deserve to marry into the Hensley family!"
While crying, she secretly glanced at Dione's expression from the corner of her eye, expecting her to fly into a rage as usual and tell Amelia to get lost.
But she was disappointed.
Dione just looked down at her, her eyes showing no anger, no sympathy, only utter indifference and disgust.
"Anna," Dione spoke, her voice flat and emotionless. "Have you caused enough of a scene?"
Anna's crying stopped abruptly. She looked up in disbelief. "Ms. Saunders, what... what did you say?"
"I said, have you caused enough of a scene!" Dione repeated, then forcefully pulled her leg from Anna's grasp and took a disgusted step back.
"I saw everything clearly from the entrance." Dione's gaze swept over Anna and her equally stunned friends. "You were deliberately making things difficult for the waitress, and you were the one making unreasonable demands and yelling."
"No... no, that's not... Ms. Saunders, it was Cecilia..." Anna panicked completely. She pointed at Cecilia, stammering incoherently. "It was Cecilia who humiliated me first! She..."
"What did Cecilia humiliate you about?" Dione interrupted her, her eyes even showing a trace of pity. "Which part of what she said wasn't true? Isn't it a fact that the Clark family went bankrupt? Isn't it a fact that you came here today deliberately looking for trouble?"
Looking at Anna, whom she once admired so much and even treated like her own daughter, Dione felt the last bit of affection completely disappear.
On the cruise, Dione had already seen through Anna's cruelty. Today, she witnessed Anna's stupidity and refusal to repent.
Such a woman didn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Amelia.
"Anna, stop calling me Ms. Saunders." Dione's voice was ice cold. "The Hensley family and you, and your Clark family, have nothing to do with each other from now on."
After saying this, Dione didn't spare Anna another glance. She turned to a stunned waitress nearby and said, "Hello, please arrange a private room on the second floor for us, somewhere quiet."
The waitress instinctively looked at Cecilia. Seeing Cecilia nod, she snapped back to reality and bowed. "Yes, Madam, this way please."
Without even looking at Stefan, Dione followed the waitress straight toward the stairs to the second floor.
This action was like a hard slap in Anna's face in front of everyone.
She used the most direct way to make her position clear — I came here today as a customer to visit my future daughter-in-law's restaurant, not to back you up.
Anna collapsed on the floor, watching Dione's resolute back, feeling all her strength drain away.
It was over.
Her last support had completely fallen.
No! She refused to accept it!
Why! Why was everyone on Amelia's side, that damn bitch!
The overwhelming despair and jealousy made Anna completely lose her mind.
Her eyes blazing red, she leaped up from the floor and, like a madwoman, charged at Dione, who was about to go up the stairs.
"It's all because of you! You're all on her side! If I can't be happy, none of you will be!"
Anna used all her strength and pushed hard at Dione's back.
