Chapter 53 The search
Three days passed
It’s been a total of five days since the tragedy happened.
Fernando had seen the news about the fire and he knew immediately that it was Ana’s parents' house. For the past five days he has been searching for Ana and her family. He has searched every hospital in the city but no trace of them. He was losing his mind at this point.
His people have been searching, checking CCTV footage and small clues of their whereabouts. From the police report her father was the only one who died from the fire and the hospital her mother and sister were taking to it was reported that they were transferred to another hospital but no information of where they were transferred to in their system.
Fernando had threatened to shut down the hospital and sue them to court if they did not provide the information of their whereabouts.
The hospital directors were scared of his threat because they knew he would carry it out. The doctors in charge were all suspended and there is possibility of their license being seized if the location of the Lopezs were not discovered.
“Why can’t they be found? I rule this city and yet I can’t find them!!” Fernando banged his hand on his desk in anger.
He could not even find Ana. She was not in the fire but where was she? Fernando ran a hand on his hair in frustration.
Fernando’s mind went to Emiliano, he should be the one who did this. But why was he hiding their location. And what happened to Ana?
“Find me Emiliano Rodrigo’ now!!”
“I will be on it now” Erik said and rushed out to go do what he was told.
Fernando had hackers working under him but it seems all of them were incompetent including his assistant.
He sat on his share and the image of Ana appeared in his head “Ana where are you? Where are you hiding?” he said in worry.
Meanwhile, Silvia had long gotten information from the kidnappers who successfully escaped that Ana was dead. In order for them not to refund the money, they had to lie that they had done the job.
Silvia was pleased with the news. She had employed the service of these killers through an anonymous link. So she was confident that once the investigation of her death starts it will not link back to her.
She wondered why Ana’s death hadn’t been reported like her father’s death was reported. She concluded that the killers must have thrown it into the ocean.
Silvia wished her mother and sister didn’t survive the fire, but she was still glad that they were half burnt.
Silvia looked at her face in the mirror and smiled “I warned you Ana that you will regret seeing the evil side of me. I told you I will come for you and your family and I’m glad I fulfilled my promise” she said to herself in the mirror and laughed.
“Although Fernando might be searching for you and the rest of your family that survived. But he will get tired once he is not able to find you cause you are dead, ha ha aha ha” Silvia laughed like she was crazy.
“Soon he will come back to my arms completely. He will forget you ever existed and both of us will leave happily ever after” Silvia sighed happily.
She felt so at peace. The last time she killed someone was high school and she promised not to kill again but Ana had successfully made her break the promise she made to herself.
“You can’t blame me, you did it to yourself, rest in hell” Silvia laughed.
Emiliano had taken Ana and her mother and sister to a hospital in a very distant town in the city where no one would find them. He had erased their hospital information so they couldn't find them.
Whoever tried to kill Ana and her family will surely come after her when they realize she is not dead. Emiliano was suspecting the Buenavista’s.
He had things to collect from his apartment. So he had left the town for the city.
After collecting all he needed from his apartment. He opened his front door to leave when he saw Fernando standing outside the door waiting for him.
Fernando approached him "Where is Ana and her family?”
“I do not know what you are talking about?”
Fernando clenched his fist “You know where they are, you had erased their hospital information and kept them hidden. Now tell me where they are!!”
“I too have not heard from Ana for 6 days now. I saw the tragedy that happened at their house. I heard that her mother and sister survived. I also went to the hospital and did not find them and the hospital also told me they did not know where they were. Emiliano lied so confidently that Fernando believed he did not know.
Ofcourse, how would Emiliano have been able to keep them hidden without him finding out when he had more connection.
Femenado looked at the things he carried “Where are you going with those?”
“It’s personal but to clear your suspicions. I’m leaving the country soon, so there are things I want to do before I leave. Now can you excuse me”
Fernando moved out of the way for him to pass.
Emiliano closed his door and headed out when Fernando called him back.
“Aren’t you an hacker?”
Emiliano turned and looked at him “I see you did your investigations”
“Ofcourse, you weren't even surprised to see me here when this is the first time I’m coming face to face with you like you already knew my relationship with Ana and why I came,” Fernando said.
Emiliano nodded “Yes, I and Ana were very close. She told me everything about you. How she became your fake wife”
“Do you even care about her?”
Emiliano nodded “yes so much”
Fernabdo nodded “Then you should take her disappearance seriously. Doesn’t seem like you care as you said” Fernando said.
“And what makes you think I have not been looking for her. I’m just doing it my own way”
“Then please inform me if you find her, please” Fernando said. He is not the type to plead especially to someone he doesn't like. But it was about Ana and he cared so much about her.
Emiliano could see the worried and concerned look on his face. Fernando really cared about Ana. For the richest billionaire in the city to come here himself and plead it means he really cared about Ana and this made Emiliano feel a kind of way because he had thought differently about him until today.
“Sure” Emiliano lied as he left in the elevator.
Fernando stood there for a while before leaving.
For the first time in his life he felt helpless and his money and connection felt useless. What is it all for, if he could not use it to find Ana?
Emiliano made sure to take different underground train stations and always looked around him to make sure no one was following him before he took the train heading to the town Ana was in.
When he boarded the train, he received a call from the doctor in charge of Ana and her family’s situation. The doctor had told him that Ana had finally woken up and asked so many questions.
