Rhiannon went back home as she was tired of people talking behind her back.
Although she knew that she shouldn’t care about what they said, she still felt uncomfortable listening to what the people were saying out there.
At present, her image was ruined because she was a ‘bastard’ child and they even scolded her mother.
What she hated most was people talking ill of her mother thus instead of giving them a chance to continue slandering the mother and daughter, she felt that she needed to be kind of strong and go back. After all, some of the things Melda said were true even if she was angry at her.
Marriage has its problems. The couple can fight, and quarrel but the only reason it remains firm is because they talk. They talk about where the issue is and they try making some changes. She didn’t do that, instead, everything she argues with Octavius, she would just run away from home or sleep in her mother’s room.
She sighed as she wondered whether people really saw her as a spoilt brat who didn’t know anything.
“Madam, please stop worrying so much,” the driver said as his eyes shone pity while she saw how tired and stressed out Rhiannon seemed.
He was her chosen driver. Although Rhiannon had a lot of cars and anyone could become her driver as they were chosen by the elders at the organization, Rhiannon still chose one of them from the group that had been sent.
Hearing her driver’s words, Rhiannon came back to reality and looked at the man.
“Stop stressing out? Who said I am 'cause am not?” Rhiannon asked as she smiled to reassure the man.
The man was ten years older than her and she could call him brother. When choosing the driver, she chose someone who wasn’t so old or so young. So young to prevent her jealous husband from getting jealous over petty things like that while old men because Rhiannon wanted to build her own trusted people inside the organizations who were just youth like her as they were tomorrow’s future.
“Madam, anyone looking at your face can see how deep in thought you are and you keep frowning. If I were asked, you should try not to think of anything. You have been so busy with the perfumery making and even the preparations of the launch forgetting that you need enough sleep,” the driver said as he really worried about her.
In the short time they had met together as employer and employee, the man understood the young lady. After all, Rhiannon was still inexperienced in the eyes of someone who had more than ten years of experience.
“Although work is good and there is a target you are aiming at, you need to get enough rest. What kind of success or achievement would that be if you fainted even before finding out how the kids did?”
Rhiannon sighed as she wondered why people seemed to be more interested in her life than theirs and what the future holds for them.
She felt that it was as if they were just worried about what was happening to their current companies failing to depend on how the future would be and if they didn’t play it well on time, they might regret it soon and she didn’t want any of her men and women regret.
“I am not mad. I am just thinking of what the future holds for us,” Rhiannon said causing the man to stare at her as he wanted to open his mouth and shout the word lies.
He nodded his head as he knew where to stop and when to ask the question. He didn’t want to make the woman mad at him and send him back to the organization.
Although Rhiannon seemed lenient by sending Melda and telling her that she should be the one who said what she did, the truth was that the elders already knew what had happened. Also, to make matters worse, Melda might be punished twice as she knew that they would make mistakes and yet continue.
He really wanted to stand in front of the council of elders and answer questions as he even didn’t know what kind of questions he could answer.
“Miss, we have arrived,” he said as he drove past Rhiannon’s home gate.
Rhiannon immediately looked up to see whether it was true or not.
Just as the car stopped at the front, Rhiannon grabbed her handbag and got out of the car without waiting for anyone to open the door for her.
“Rhiannon dear?” Nanny Mary called when she saw her walking into the living room where she was watching the TV.
“Nanny,” Rhiannon called out as she rushed towards the latter and hid her head in the latter’s bosom as she embraced her and refused to let go.
Seeing this and how firm the hands were around her Mary frowned as she wondered what the problem was.
“What is it?” Nanny asked as she patted the atter’s head gesturing her to lift her head and let them talk.
“N, I just want to hold you like this for a while,” Rhiannon said as she wanted to remind herself what it meant to have a mother, and currently, the only mother figure she had was the nanny.
“Oh? Then why do I feel as if someone wants to breastfeed?” Nanny asked with a smirk on her face.
She had thought that Rhiannon would get from her embrace and then retort the word but she was shocked to see that the latter only held her firmly.
“Well, I don’t think that I can be breastfed as you don’t have any mild,” Rhiannon replied shamelessly as she giggled since she had not thought that there would be a day when her many would still use such baseless words to get what she wanted.
When she was a child, immediately she was told that she would let go and ran to her room locking it in the process as she was afraid that her nanny might breastfeed her.
Hearing her words, Nanny Mary chuckled then her eyes started to be watery as she couldn’t believe that her young miss had already grown into a big and perfect mature lady.
“You are back? When did you arrive?”
