Anabelle who was in charge of launching the products was told by her secretary when she walked from the stage and frowned as she couldn’t believe it.
“Which company?” she asked.
“Madam, it’s the Ruven Company,” the assistant replied without looking at his boss.
“Them? Interesting. Those girls are very talented. I am looking forward to seeing what they have come up with. Buy me the perfumes they launched,” Anabelle said excitedly causing her secretary to frown.
“Miss, if anyone hears you then they will think that our company is behind the Ruvens. Please control yourself and stop buying their products,” the secretary said causing Anabelle to roll her eyes.
“What do you know? Those girls are talented! Let me ask you, how old did they start making perfumes?” Anabelle asked.
“But aren’t you a prodigy just like them? When you were sixteen, you already had your own companies, Listed ones. I don’t see anything special with them as they still fall behind you since they don’t have their own company,” the secretary said causing Anabelle to shake her head.
“Yes I might have but you seem to forget that Ruby participated in the international competition since she was five and her sister seven. Those kids are promising. Also, I have seen and talked to their mother who told me that the company will be left to them. I opened my company because I wasn’t living with my parents. At that time, I even didn’t know whether I was swapped at birth. I opened to change my future, If I grew up with the Rodrigues, I would have relaxed,” Anabelle said shutting the secretary.
“Those two, Ruby and Raven were born on silver plates and grew up in riches yet they started working hard when they were kids, they haven’t even reached twenty-two,” Anabelle said causing both her assistant and secretary to roll their eyes.
“But madam, we were launching the product today because we feared in a week, a lot of companies would have. Now the amount of customers we were going to get would be divided by two,” the assistant said in a low tone.
Anabelle looked at her and shook her head.
“The customers weren’t ours in the first place. We are just riding on the popularity that the three companies made to achieve whatever we will achieve today. Also, there is nothing else we can do as we have already launched the products, we can’t say that we will start selling them tomorrow because they launched theirs,” Anabelle said.
“What we should know do is watch and see whose perfumes will be sold out quickly, get the most reviews, and sell in large numbers. Oh, don’t forget what I told you. Buy me the two perfumes before they are all sold out,” Anabelle said before she started walking and leaving the two there,
They looked at each other and shook their heads. Although they wanted to speak, they knew that her words were right.
They separated, one went after Anabelle while the other went outside to look at the perfumes.
“Aah, I can’t believe it,” Ruby screamed when they were all in the office causing everyone to look at her.
“What is it?” Raven asked as she couldn’t understand her sister’s outburst.
“The Rodriguez have also launched their perfumes today. I can’t believe we are out of luck,” Ruby complained while all the other eyes fell on Rhiannon.
“Why are you all looking at me? I don’t have a say in what my husband’s family does. I even didn’t know that they were going to launch today. If I knew, we would have launched ours yesterday,” Rhiannon said and they knew that she was right.
“I never expected that even them would have a shallow mind to compete with other companies and even ride on our other companies' popularity,” Raven said as she stomped her feet while Rhiannon fell silent.
She remembered telling Octavius which were her perfumery companies thus he knew. Thinking of that, her eyes darkened and she took out her phone, switched it on, and dialed his number.
“Hello, have you missed me?” Octavius asked immediately the phone was connected causing Rhiannon to scoff at his shamelessness.
“Missing you my foot! Why can’t you let me do my work instead of you sabotaging it?” she asked angrily making everyone in the room stop talking Octavius on the other side halted what he was doing as he couldn’t understand her outburst.
“What do you mean because I can’t understand anything you are saying,” he said in a calm tone.
“You knew that my companies are the ones that have been launching the perfumes. Cause you didn’t want us to beat you, you had to launch your products today,” she said and Octavius understood everything.
“Love, the business industry is not a joke. Its competition. Also, although you are my wife, I have to do what benefits my company,” he said in a serious tone.
Yes, he had done that as he didn’t want to give the Ruven Company a chance to shine. He knew that their company lacked talented perfumers like Ruby and Raven whom she was sure would take the first, second, or third position in the international competition.
If the Ruvens launched their products successfully and the products were to be hit, he was sure they were going to take the second position in the domestic perfumes industry and if the two girls got those ranks during the competitions, they might rank first domestically.
As the Rodriguez Company CEO, how could he let his company be overthrown from the first position to the second position? He would fight to nil, and use despicable methods to win as always no matter who it was.
However, at the same time, he felt guilty and regretted not telling her. He knew that this was her first business and the company's success was important to her but what could he do? He felt that she could do whatever she wanted with her companies but not work very hard tiring herself as he was the man of the house and should protect her when in times of danger.
“Now you think that you won? How naïve of you! Since you have already started scheming against your own wife and don’t want me to succeed, then don’t blame me for scheming against you till I take all the ranking from your company,” Rhiannon said coldly causing Octavius to hold his breath.
“But unlike you, I won’t compete with you in the IT industry for now. Try provoking me and see whether I won’t enter that industry! Perfumes and cosmetic industry, jewel and outfit industries, and lastly entertainment and catering industries are mine! I have notified you to use all despicable methods you want but don’t blame me if you go far. I will take everything from you and you will lose me, your own wife!” Rhiannon said and hung up the call.
Octavius looked at the phone and breathed out feeling frustrated.
He wondered whether he should apologize or remain silent.
“The battle has started,” a text from Rhiannon popped out making him confused.
On the other side, immediately Rhiannon hugged Uo and sent him the message, she smirked confusing the others.
“Rhiannon, why are you making enemies with your husband? That isn’t right,” Melda said in a disapproving tone.
“Aunt, he knew about the four companies. Because he was afraid of what would happen if we launched our products before theirs, he launched his today, how do you expect me not to be angry? A good husband should support his wife not doing what he did,” Rhiannon said as she tried to be calm.
Melda stared at her and sighed.
“Now that you have told him that, what will happen next?” Raven said in fear as she didn’t want Rhiannon and her husband to separate cause of trivial reasons.
“They have already launched the products, and so have we. Since the products are out in the market, we should just observe what will happen. Between the two of us, who will receive the best and most reviews, whose products will be sold out first, and how many,” Rhiannon said.
“This is the best competition we could ask to beat them and take them down from their first-ranking position,” Rhiannon said with a smile.
“I don’t think it's that bad. Cause if our products have the best and most reviews. We sell the most products, that will tell everyone that our company is far better than theirs and we deserve the first position. He didn’t want us to take that position but now, I don’t think that it's quite far,” she added with a smirk.
“So we should observe the results today and tomorrow. The other products sold in two days,” Ruby said and Rhiannon shook her head disagreeing with her.
“Three days. We will observe the situation these three days.”
