Chapter 238: Love and Concern

The two people in the living room stopped what they were doing and stared at Madison in shock. How did she figure out everything?

"Good, good, come to Grandpa." After the old man came back to his senses, he gleefully clapped his hands and said. He was so happy to be recognized by his granddaughter. Initially, he was scared that he would face resistance from her, then what was this situation before him.

"Why are you here by yourself?. Don't you know you are still weak?" As Wesley said this, he went ahead and supported her. Madison wanted to retort, but when she saw how caring and concerned he looked, she decided against it.

"Brat, don't you dare scare my granddaughter away!" The old man threatened.

Wesley was speechless. He could feel his lip twitching because he had no idea what to comment. Who was bullying whom in the situation before them? He felt like he was the one being bullied, actually. Since he had no evidence, he decided to stay quiet lest he underwent another round of bullying.

After he took her to sit next to her grandfather, Wesley took a seat opposite them. He silently watched their interaction.

"It was just a few years ago when I saw you. How did you grow up so fast?" As her grandfather said this, he held her hand and examined her. The lass had the green eyes. And those green eyes reminded him of late son. Overall, she had the looks of her mother. The old man was a hundred percent sure she was his granddaughter just by looking at her. He had no reason not to. Considering he was very familiar with that face of hers.

Madison usually hated having contact with people, but she didn't feel repulsed whatsoever when her grandpa held her hand. Maybe that was the power of blood relations? She still had a bitter feeling in her heart whenever she thought about how she had been left alone to fend for herself. She wanted to know why. She would definitely ask when the time came, but at that moment, she chose to relish in the moment.

Her grandfather also noticed the sadness on her face and sighed. He would tell her everything himself because he couldn't hide it forever, could he?

"Shall we have dinner first?" When Wesley saw the somewhat somber atmosphere, he chose to break it with that statement. What always ticked him was seeing his Maddy sad. He had promised to make her happy all the time.

"Sure. I've been starving for ages after all." Grandpa said and held his tummy with his empty hand.

Wesley once again was speechless. Wasn't the old man the one who said he wasn't hungry ? Why did he feel like the old man was complaining that Wesley didn't feed him?

Anyway, he just wanted people to eat first before talking. Wesley knew the two had a lot of things to talk about, but he wouldn't want them to have that talk on an empty stomach.

The meal was sumptuous, and all three enjoyed it. Madison had food piled on her plate, thanks to Wesley and her grandpa. She felt warm after seeing the genuine concern and love in their eyes as they took care of her.

Just then, the old man's cellphone rang.

"What brat is calling me now?" The old man complained but still wiped his hands with a towel before picking up the call.

"Oh, it's my grandson." The old man said as he glanced at the call ID.

Grandson?
