Chapter 90
The secret that she was keeping from her husband was finally out in the open, and the result was the opposite of what she was expecting.
I'm lucky... Cassia thought while staring at her husband, who was caressing her hair and cheek. I'm really lucky to have married him.
Thorn could have any woman as his wife, any woman, but God gave him her like a gift from heaven. She did not have anything to offer other than her love and loyalty.
"Marrying you was like winning the lottery," Cassia said while looking at Thorn. "I'm glad to be your wife."
Thorn smiled at his wife teasingly. "Winning the lottery—hmm, did I make you rich?"
Cassia nodded. "Richer than I ever thought possible."
Thorn chuckled before leaning down to kiss Cassia on the lips. "When did you become a smooth talker?"
Cassia pouted slightly. "But it's true."
Thorn laughed softly, then gently cupped his wife's cheek. "Get some rest, the doctor said. You need to rest properly for two weeks. Total bed rest means no working for a while. I think Zehannah can run your agency alone for the time being."
Cassia nodded. "Don't worry. I will rest really well. I don't want anything to happen to our baby."
"That's good. Rest. I'm just here. I'm not leaving."
Cassia nodded and was about to close her eyes when a knock on the door interrupted her, and when the door opened, a smile appeared on Cassia's lips when she saw the Amazonas with flowers, get well soon balloons, cakes, and fruits for her.
While Thorn was seeing the Amazona, he got up after kissing his wife on the forehead and excused himself to give them some privacy.
"Baby Cass! Are you okay?" Anniza asked, who immediately approached Cassia with the Amazons as soon as Thorn left the room.
Cassia smiled. "I'm okay now.Doc said. Baby and I are fine."
"That's a relief," Grace said, then handed over the cupcake she had cooked. "Here. Get well soon."
The other Amazons winced, but Cassia's smile widened. "Thank you, Gracey! I love your cupcakes."
Hearing that, Grace smiled smugly at everyone, especially at Themarie, who just shook her head.
"We were so worried," Anette interrupted. "I don't want you to experience that kind of pain."
Cassia smiled at Anette. "Thank you, and I'm sorry for worrying you all."
"Aww," Raine said, hugging Cassia. "It's okay. We're happy that you and the baby are okay."
"Yes, wait. Ruth looked around. "Where is Cza?"
"It's at the Nurse station," Gladz answered. "Didn't you see him? He seems to be busy charting."
"If he wasn't the only one who gave birth to me, I wouldn't believe that he is a Doctor," said Krisz.
Haze chuckled. "At the mouth of it, not even me."
"What is he writing on his charts?" Tessmarie suddenly asked. "That one is still crazy."
Mhelanie shrugged. "Who knows, maybe she's different at work."
"Nah!" Haze and Anniza said together that she is Doc's best friend. Cza.
"Anyway, I'm glad you're safe," said SM, who just spoke. "Are you feeling all right?"
Cassia nodded and smiled. "I have a very supportive husband. With him around, I feel like I can take whatever the world throws at me."
Everyone smiled at what Cassia said because they could all relate to her.
"That's good to hear," said SM before excusing herself. He said he was just talking to someone.
When SM got out, the Amazons' conversation continued while Thorn, who was just outside the room, looked at SM when he got out the door.
SM smiled at Thorn. "Thank you."
That made Thorn frown. "Ah? For what?"
"For thanking my husband," SM said, looking happy. "He rarely receives thanks for what he does, so your 'thank you' means a lot to him."
Thorn couldn't imagine Knight feeling happy because of a simple thank-you, but Knight had always been an oddball. When it comes to Knight, they all learn not to rely on what they see.
"Well," Thorn said, giving SM a lopsided smile. "I really owe him and you for everything. It ended smoothly because of your help, so I really owe you two a lot."
SM shook his head. "Don't think like that. You are a friend of Knight, and Cassia is also a friend of mine. We always take care of our friends and family. If something happens, whatever it is that you think is dangerous, you can reach out to Knight and I for assistance. Keeping you all safe is one of our priorities."
Thorn looked at SM in awe. "Isn't it... burdensome? I mean, that's a huge responsibility to put on your shoulder."
SM shrugged and smiled. "If we can't protect our family and friends, then what's the use of doing what we do best?"
Thorn nodded, then asked. "Anyway, what will happen to 'him'?"
"We'll send him to Tartarus after Kratos finishes having fun with him," SM answered before a small, sweet smile appeared on her lips. "I'll make him pay on your behalf."
Thorn held back the grimace. That was one scary, sweet smile. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." SM smiled at Thorn again before going back inside Cassia's room.
That's when Cassiuz appeared out of nowhere. "She's so scary. Her sweet smile is like a warning—a death-like warning."
Thorn looked at Cassiuz flatly. "Did you just hide because you're afraid of her?"
"What?!" Cassiuz exclaimed exaggeratedly, clearly trying to hide the truth. "Why would I be scared? I'm part of the Ultor's court. Our job is to punish motherfuckers, so why would I be scared of a single woman?"
"I'll call SM-"
Cassiuz stopped Thorn by the arm. "Fine! I'm scared. Happy now?"
Thorn smiled. "Pussy."
Cassius smirked. "You are too. I heard from Zehannah that you passed out a lot."
The smile remained on Thorn's lips, but that smile was flat and emotionless. "It's because of Cinnamon's effect. Google it."
Frowning, Cassiuz actually took out his phone and googled cinnamon effect'.
A lot came out of that single search, and Cassiuz read them all before looking at Thorn with anger in his eyes. "How dare you use cinnamon oil on my sister as a sexual stimulant?
Thorn was now looking at Cassiuz like he was an idiot. "Where the hell did you get that?" Then he smiled, "but that's a good idea—cinnamon oil."
"Don't you dare-"
