Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Emily Pov

The evening finally came to an end. I am tired to the core. I'm honestly so glad that Mason's mom offered to take Madi. I can't remember if I was this tired at my first wedding. Honestly, I did not have this much fun at my first wedding. I also wasn't pregnant when I went through with my first wedding.

We walk into the room that Mason rented for us for the night. He explained to me that he had rented the whole floor for us. I don't care. All I want is a place to lay my head.

I lie down on the bed and feel myself falling asleep. Mason came and sat next to me. I feel him rubbing his hand up and down my arm.

"Come now, my wife. You can't sleep now. I can't imagine that dress could be comfortable." I open my eyes to see that he has the biggest grin. I will never get tired of hearing him call me his wife.

Mason started pulling me up by my hand. He stands behind me and leads me towards the bathroom. My eyes lit up when I saw the bathtub. It was a corner tub. It looked more like a hot tub than a bathtub.

It is filled to the top with bubbles. There were also small lit candles in the bathroom.

Mason helped me out of my wedding gown. He placed my gown inside a plastic cover and joined me inside the tub. He pulled me closer until I was lying on his chest.

"Thank you, Em." I groggily opened my eyes.

"Why are you thanking me?"

"Today, you gave me the best present I could have ever asked for." Mason starts washing my hair it's becoming harder for me to keep my eyes open.

"I didn't do anything. I just married you as we planned."

"You gave me a second chance at the family that I wanted. You gave me Madi, now your giving me the new baby. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know I was horrible to you in the past, but I do want you to know that I will do anything to do it the right way this time. If I do anything wrong, I want you to tell me immediately. I would rather fix what I did instead of losing you again."

We finished our bath and made our way to the room. I was way too tired to worry about my hair, so Mason took the time to dry my hair.

We lay down to go to sleep. I snuggled up to Mason and drifted off to sleep.

I woke up and felt no one next to me. I listen intently to see if I can hear Mason somewhere.

In the distance, I hear Mason's voice. He is talking to a man but I can't place his voice.

I get up and put on my gown.

I didn't even make it to the door, when I heard glass shattering against the wall. I run to the living room. I see the glass lying diagonally behind the man.

The fear in the man's face almost scares me. I've never seen Mason this mad in my life.

I walked over to Mason and put my hand on his arm.

"Richard here just informed me that I lost a half-built hotel in a flood."

I look at the man. The fear in his eyes also disappeared.

"Richard, you can go." Mason opens his mouth to say something, but I hold my hand up. Richard quickly made himself out from underfoot.

I walk closer and sit on Mason's lap.

"How much damage is there?"

"Three million." I gasp for air. I know Mason has money, but I think losing that much money, is still bad.

"Let's take the time off our honeymoon and forget about everything. As soon as we get back, we can go to see what the damage is. After that, we can decide what we're going to do next. If we have to bulldoze now and start from scratch, then we do it." As I speak, I see the smile on Mason's face.

"I love that you keep talking about 'us'. I agree. I don't know why I called Richard anyway. This was supposed to be my time off." Mason kissed me on the cheek.

"Me neither. I went in and told everyone at the office not to bother you with anything for the next few days, but yes, if the boss speaks, everyone jumps." I roll my eyes and stood up. "We need to get ready. Our plane leaves in six hours."

"I had food delivered just before Richard came. I just ordered bacon and eggs for us." Mason walked over to the table and lifted the lid. It didn't take long for the smell to get to me. I feel my stomach turn and I have to run to get to the bathroom in time.

Mason is behind me. I feel him lift my hair and hold it behind my head.

"Is everything okay? What happened?" I look up at him and almost want to laugh when I see the worry in his eyes.

I sat in the back and looked at him.

"Well, let's say that eggs are out in our house during the pregnancy."

Mason helps me up. I brush my teeth. By the time I finnish and come back into the living room, the eggs have been removed and Mason has sprayed air freshener.

"You are aware that you could have just eaten the bacon and eggs?"

"How can I eat it if you can't stand the smell? I'll just eat what you eat the whole pregnancy. Even if it's fruit." Mason wrinkled his nose. This man has a strong dislike for anything healthy. That includes fruits and vegetables.

"I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but you have to start eating vegetables and fruits. I can't force Madi to eat them if her father doesn't do it first."

There is a knock at the door. Mason opens the door and the food is pushed inside. Mason tips the bell boy.

The time in there are two bowls with fruit in them and eight different bowls with yogurt. There are also a few slices of toast.

"I don't know what yogurt you want to eat with your fruit, so I just get everything on the menu. I also read that toast can help with morning sickness."

I walk to him and give him a kiss. The man is so sweaty. I'm glad he's mine for the rest of my life.
