Chapter 15

Emily POV

Today has been a great day once again. Jason and I have been becoming closer every day that we spent together. He has been the best uncle that Madison could ask for.

Jason and I have plans to go to the park with Madi once we finish our dinner.

I see Jason at the entrance of the lobby. He has already gone and got Madi from the daycare centre.

"Are you ready?" Jason asks me while twirling Madi around.

"Yes, let's go." We chatted and laughed all the way to the car. I haven't driven home in a long time. Jason told me that he would take me home since he goes to the apartment every evening.

We walked into the apartment and could already smell the aroma of the food which Becca is cooking for us.

"Honey, I am home," Jason called out. I giggled at Jason's silliness. Jason and Becca have become my best friends in this world. I see the love between them, but I guess they have been oblivious to it. I think it is time for me to have a serious talk with both of them.

There is a knock at the door. I walked to open it since Jason and Becca is busy. On the other side is Mason looking as sinful as ever. I look at him in surprise. I didn't think he would find me. I hope that Jason didn't tell him where I lived. Perhaps he changed his mind and would like to be in Madison's life.

"Pack your bags you're coming with me." He gives me a menacing smile that makes me scared. My surprise gave way to anger. Who does he think he is? He doesn't own me, so why is he telling me what to do? I stood blocking the door. I hear footsteps behind me. I hear Madison cry, so I guess that Jason is behind me.

"No, I am not going anywhere with you." Mason push past me and rushed towards Jason. He took her out of Jason's arms. Madison did not like this. She kept trying to go back to Jason.

"Well,l the way I see it, you have two options. I will leave here with Madison since I am her father, or you pack your bags and come with me. Just remember, if I file for custody, I will win. I will give you ten minutes and then I am leaving. With or without you." Mason walked out with Madi in his arms. She kept wailing. I look over at Jason with shock.

"Did you have anything to do with this?" My tears start falling while I look at Jason with hate.

"No, I promise you. I sent a few pictures here and there, but I didn't tell him where you live. I promise."

"Well, it is still your fault. I told you not to tell him about Madi, but you still did it. Get out of my house. I can lose my baby girl and it will be on your conscious."

I turned around and went into my room. I quickly packed a bag for Madi and me. I think it is time for me to admit defeat. There is no way that I will be able to win in a court battle against the mighty Mason Turner.

I walk to the car and see Jason talking to Mason, I ignore them and get into the car. I look over to see Madi sleeping in Mason's arms. The sight warms my heart only for a moment before anger takes over again. I take Madison from his arms.

I sit there in silence. Mason keeps asking me questions, but I keep ignoring him. We stopped in front of a shop. There was baby stuff in the window.

"Will you please help me pick some baby stuff for Madison?" He asks me in a commanding tone.

"There is no way I am helping you. She can sleep in my room." I glare at him. This man is busy making me angry all over again. Why does he suddenly want to do everything for Madi. I can do it on my own.

"The only way we can make this work is if we work together. We are both going to be in Madison's life. You might as well embrace it. I can buy her anything that she needs, all you have to do is tell me what she needs." I can see that he is getting angry with me. I guess he does have a point.
