Web Of Lies
“I... I want to leave,” she said, her voice breaking. “Please... just let me go...”
He looked at her for a long moment, his eyes searching hers, his jaw tightening. “Fine. If that’s what you really want... I won’t stop you.”
Ella’s heart sank, her chest tightening. He was letting her go... just like that.
But then he leaned in, his eyes burning with intensity. “But if you leave... you’re on your own. I won’t come to your rescue again.”
His words cut through her, sharp and cold. He was giving her a choice... but he was also warning her. She was weak. Vulnerable. Alone.
And out there... she wouldn’t survive.
Ella’s shoulders sagged, her body trembling. She was trapped. Trapped between her fear of staying... and her fear of dying.
And for the first time since her banishment... she didn’t know what to do....
\------
Caught Between Fear and Hope
Ella sat on the edge of the bed, her body aching, her mind spinning with confusion. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the faces of the rogues who attacked her... their cruel smiles, their hungry eyes. She shuddered, wrapping her arms around herself as a chill ran down her spine.
She shouldn’t be here. She didn’t belong here.
The Shadow Fang Alpha had saved her... for reasons she didn’t understand. But his kindness terrified her. No Alpha had ever shown her compassion before. Not Kaden. Not his father. Not anyone.
They only saw her as weak. Worthless. Disposable.
She had spent her life being rejected, abused, treated like dirt. Why should this Alpha be any different?
She stood up, her legs trembling beneath her as she staggered toward the window. Outside, the sun was setting, the sky painted in shades of gold and crimson. The air was cold, crisp... unforgiving.
But it was better than staying here. Better than getting her hopes up, only to be crushed again.
She couldn’t afford to trust him. She couldn’t afford to believe his words.
“I won’t come to your rescue again.”
His voice echoed in her mind, sharp and cold, warning her of the harsh reality awaiting her outside these walls.
He was right. She was weak. Useless. Unable to protect herself.
But she had survived this long, hadn’t she? She had endured the pain, the humiliation, the loneliness. She had survived banishment, starvation, attacks...
She could survive this too....
Her chest tightened, tears burning in her eyes as she made her decision. She would leave. Before she grew too attached. Before she let herself believe that she could be safe... that she could be happy.
She had to leave. Before it was too late.
Ella grabbed a cloak from the chair, pulling it tightly around her shoulders. Her body ached with every step, her ribs throbbing with pain. But she gritted her teeth, her eyes blazing with determination.
She would run. She would escape. She would survive.
Even if it killed her...

A Web of Lies
Lila leaned back in her chair, a sly smile curling on her lips as she read the forged letter once more. Every word was dripping with venom, crafted with meticulous care to turn the Shadow Fang Alpha against that wretched orphan.
She could almost see it now... Ella being thrown out of his pack, hunted, alone, and vulnerable once more.
But just in case that wasn’t enough... Lila had another plan.
She pulled out a second parchment, her eyes gleaming with malice as she wrote another one, again:
To the honorable Alpha of the Shadow Fang Pack,
It has come to my attention that a rogue girl with treacherous intentions is hiding within your territory. She is dangerous, cunning, and manipulative. She is known to use her beauty and feigned innocence to deceive even the most powerful men.
She tried to murder the Luna of our pack, a crime that nearly destroyed our Alpha. I fear she may try to do the same to you.
Please... be wary of her charms. Do not let her lies taint your honor. She is nothing but a viper, waiting to strike.
With deepest respect,
Lila, Heir to the Blood Moon Pack
Lila laughed softly, sealing the letter with her insignia. If she couldn’t kill Ella, she would destroy her reputation. She would turn her savior against her, poison him with lies, make him see her as the monster Lila wanted her to be.
All she had to do was plant the seed of doubt.
And when Ella was betrayed once more... when she was abandoned, broken, and alone... Lila would be there to watch her fall.
She called for her spy, her voice cold and commanding. “Deliver this to the Shadow Fang Alpha. Make sure he reads it. And if anyone asks where it came from...”
The spy bowed, his eyes gleaming with loyalty. “They’ll never trace it back to you, my lady.”
Lila’s smile widened, her heart racing with anticipation. It was perfect. Ella would be turned away. Discarded. And once she was out of the Alpha’s protection... Lila would strike again.
This time, she wouldn’t fail.

The Escape Attempt
The moon hung high in the sky, its pale light illuminating the forest as Ella stumbled through the shadows, her breath ragged, her heart pounding. Every step sent pain shooting through her body, her wounds burning, her legs trembling beneath her.
But she kept moving. She couldn’t stop. She couldn’t look back.
She didn’t know where she was going. She didn’t care. As long as she was far away from him... far away from the fear clawing at her heart.
The trees loomed around her, their branches like skeletal hands reaching out to drag her back. The cold wind howled, chilling her to the bone, biting at her exposed skin.
But she kept running. Desperation driving her forward.
She was almost free... almost out of his territory...
A growl echoed through the darkness, low and menacing, sending a shiver down her spine. Her heart stopped, terror flooding through her....
