Alisha was mad at Leonardo, since he left for the business trip, she had not taken his calls aor responded to his messages. She was giving him the well deserved silent treatment.
He had left her.
She had developed fever over the night, and all he had done was call a doctor and as soon as the doctor had arrived that morning, he had left to get to the mansion for his suit case and had left. Her dad had came to see her with Mary.
Mary had made soup for her, and when her dad had told her to speak with Leonardo that he was worried she said he didn't care enough to stay back.
She had cancelled the appointment with the event planners. She didn't care how long the wedding would take, Leonardo would spend the extra money of there would be an extension, and besides he was the one in a haste, and he had left her ill, to care for herself and prepare for the wedding.
She was going to put everything on a hold, if he was interested in getting married to her, he would leave everything aside and join her to plan the wedding.
By the third day, Alisha was feeling better, she had even gone to the bakery for a few hours to supervise, Leonardo was to return the next day, and she was looking forward to his arrival. She was going to tell him a piece of her mind.
But by the fourth day, Leonardo called and she didn't take his call as usual, only for her to receive a text message from him that his stay had been extended.
He didn't mention how long he was going to be staying, neither did he apologize for not returning as initially promised. She was hot with anger, what was wrong with him?
"We are not married and he is neglecting me already." she pouted to her dad.
"You and I know that he isn't neglecting you, you knew he was a busy man before you chose to accept him, and besides you are the one giving him the silent treatment here." her dad had said even as she laid her head on his shoulders. He loved it when she was being his little princess.
"He deserves my silence dad."
"Well, I'm tired of being the middle man here, he has made me his assistant fiancee, always calling me to check up on you now." her dad chuckled
"Stop taking his calls dad, let him pay for leaving me."
"I'm sorry dear, I wouldn't be your partner for a relationship quarrel."
"You are taking his side, dad."
"I'm not on anyone's side dear, I'm on the peace side."
"Well the next time you speak to him, tell him I don't want to get married to him anymore."
"You'll have to tell him that yourself."
It has been a week since Leonardo's trip. Alisha was worried, she hadn't heard from him in two days, he was no longer calling or texting her.
She called her dad to ask if he had heard from him, "No darling, he hasn't called in three days now, I think you should call him, you've been angry long enough." her dad had said.
She called him and wasn't getting through to him, so she went to his office to see his secretary.
She got information about the country he had travelled to and the hotel she had booked for him. Alisha called her dad to inform him that she was traveling, he has encouraged her to go and to keep on touch.
When Alisha arrived at the hotel in which Leonardo was staying at Seattle, it was quite late at night, she tried to get access to Leonardo's room explaining that she was his fiancee and was unable to reach him.
The receptionist had refused, asking her to wait until he got back in and she could notify him. Alidha was too exhausted to sit at the lobby and wait, so instead of waiting, she lodged into one of the rooms of the hotel.
She had her shower and went to sleep. The next morning, she didn't go to the reception again, instead she went to the room number the secretary had given her as Leonardo's room. It was a suite and she wondered why Leonardo would need a suit for a trip that was supposed to have lasted for four days, when he was alone on the trip.
She had pushed the thought aside and had hit the mini bell of his suite. She didn't get any response and then she gave up and went back to the reception.
When she got to the reception desk, she met a different receptionist, she explained that she had lodged last night, but needed to see her fiance in suite 2, his line wasn't connecting and he was not responding to the door bell.
"Hold on a minute while I check the system." she said nicely.
"Oh, Mr Legend checked out quite early, he said he had a flight to catch." Alisha was instantly mentally drained, she had come down to Seattle to see Leonardo and he had left right after she arrived.
There was no way she could reach him, and she was not even sure where he had travelled to, had he gone back to California?
As much as she felt she needed to return home, she decided it was best to explore and have an unplanned vacation, the wedding plans and the wedding itself could wait.
Alisha went back to her room and continued the sleep she had cut short just to see Leonardo. When she awoke later that morning, she took her bath and went for a harbor cruise.
She had breakfast on it and later that evening, she remembered she had not gotten in touch with her dad, she told him how she had missed Leonardo and how she intended to use the opportunity for a vacation.
He had told her it was well deserved. She did sight seeing in the evening sun, before having sea food dinner and then she returned to her hotel room.
Alisha was deep asleep when her phone kept ringing and bringing her back to conciousness gradually. When she finally woke up she saw that she had missed seven calls from Leonardo. She told herself she would return the call when she was fully awake, she was about to put her head back on the pillow when her phone rang again.
"What?" she said into the phone.
"Alisha, where the hell are you?" he asked her in a tone that told her he was more angry than worried.
"Not your business, I will talk to you tomorrow." she said and lay down with the phone still on her ear.
"It is my business, where are you?" he asked with a firm voice.
"Why haven't your line being reachable?" she asked back, not interested in telling him her whereabouts until he apologized for the stress he had put her through.
"I was very busy and didn't pay attention to my phone, I didn't even realize it was out of power and had gone off."
"Great, how great" she was hurt that he was too busy to not get in touch with her for a week, well four days, because he had tried reaching her for the first four days.
"Where are you?" he asked her again
"I am on vacation, see you when I get back."
"Hoe can you be on vacation when we have a wedding coming up, you could have a long vacation when we go for our honeymoon." he said trying to wrap his head around her rash decision.
"Well, you should have also thought about that when you took a week long trip, good night Leonardo Legend, and so you'll know the wedding has been moved to further notice."
She hung up before he could even say a word.
Alisha switched off her phone and continued her sleep. By the next morning she didn't bother to put her phone on, instead she wore her sports bra and pants and went for a walk. She didn't have a water bottle and as such she was dehydrated when she was walking pack to the hotel.
Glad she had some cash with her, she stopped to get water from a restaurant along the road.
"Hello, can I have a bottle of water please?" she said to the guy who had just finished attending to a customer ahead of her.
"Alisha Adams in the flesh." he said flashing her a smile, he looked so excited to see her.
She looked at him closely before she could recognize him. "Alex" she said doubting her guess.
"In flesh and blood" he said as he came out to hug her.
"It's so good to see you, it's been a long time." she said as she remembered the last time they had seen.
All she wanted to do was get her water and go, she wasn't as excited as he was to see her, she had forgiven him for what he had done in high school, but looking at him now, she felt he didn't deserve her time, and besides she was sweaty and all she wanted to do was soak in a Jacuzzi.
Alex ignored the queue of customers building up, "Alisha I need to say all I have been keeping to say for years." he started to speak.
"I don't think now is a good time, you could lose your job, there is a waiting queue, and I don't think your colleague can handle it all." she was trying to avoid the topic that had made her cry for weeks.
"My heart needs this peace, it's more important than the job." he said and she led him to a table to sit, she drank from her water, and regretted while she didn't have a face towel for the tears that will flow soon.
"Alisha, I knew you had a crush on me in high school and you were this smart nerd, but we all wanted the hot girls, and I know you were heads over heels when I asked you to go to prom with me.
To cut it all short, at the prom when I excused myself to the restroom, the guys and I were speaking and Lola, the hottest girl in school so wanted me to take her to prom was mad at me for choosing you, and when she heard the conversation I knew she told you and that was why you left prom and I never saw you again since then,
Alisha, the guys and I made a bet that we were going to have sex with the nerds at school since we were sure they were the virgins left, and we would celebrate our victories in the after party the next day after prom.
Alisha I know Lola told you I was going to take advantage of you and make fun of you to the guys, but that was never my intention, I really liked you and I didn't want any of my guys to do that to you, that was why I chose you for myself,
I wanted us to sneak on the school roof and tm hat all night, and then I would lie to the guys the next day, I know that was an insane thing, and I know Lola told you I wanted to use you and mock you, I'm so sorry." she listened to him intently.
Lola had told her that she hear Alex say he was disgusted, but he was going to have sex with her and win the bet money.
"So I was some sort of bet and cash price." she could feel the tears building up as she sat there and remembered that night.
"Alisha, I'm sorry." he said and was about to say something else but a voice interrupted.
