"I don't want to talk to you, I'm heading out to get food." she said and started walking towards the door. Leonardo held her back and pulled her into a hug, "I'm sorry my love" he apologized even if he didn't know what he had done to her.
Alisha broke into tears which confused him the more, "what was wrong with her?" he asked himself.
"Alisha, are you okay?" Leonardo asked confused
"I don't know, I feel something is wrong with me." she sobbed.
"I think you need some sun, I got food but let's head out catch some sun and fun and maybe you will feel better." he suggested.
Alisha dried her tears and she and Leonardo headed out. They had a short walk, and when they came to a corner, Alisha perceived the aroma of freshly cooked soup, and without saying a word to Leonardo she located the restaurant and went in.
"Chicken soup and coconut bread" she told the waiter as soon as he got to her table. Leonardo watched her in amazement as she devoured the meal, not paying attention to him. She finished her meal before finally looking up.
"Wow, that was amazing" she smiled. Leonardo paid for the meal and asked her if she was ready to leave.
"I can't move an inch just yet, I feel so heavy." she lamented.
"That's what happens when you eat a large soup plate of soup and a big load." he chuckled, he was glad that she ate well, he had never seen her eat so much before.
"Are you calling me a glutton?" Alisha frowned
"No, why would I say such a thing" Leonardo laughed in hope that she would laugh with him, but instead she got up angrily and walked out of the restaurant.
Leonardo decided not to make a scene, so he allowed her go. Alishas anger fuelled the moment she noticed that Leonardo was not following her. She boarded a cab and went to the suite.
When Leonardo arrived, the door was locked and he could not get into the suite. He knocked gently as he pleaded with Alisha to open the door. Go away she said.
He decided to give her some time alone, so he took a walk. Alisha drifted to sleep and the ringing of her phone woke her up.
Hey dad, whats up? she asked with a sleepy voice.
Alisha and Leonardo were in an accident. Their plane crashed baby, I would not have called you but they are at the state hospital in Paris, and I thought you might need to see them to know how they are faring before I get a flight there. Her dad explained
Alisha jumped up from the bed and started wearing her dress, I will be there shortly dad, Ill let you know when Ive seen her.
Alisha, I know you said you have forgiven Anna, and I dont doubt that, but when you see her, you will remember the betrayal and hurt, I need you to be her ever loving big sister, look beyond the hurt and help her.
I will do what I can dad she said and ended the call after saying her goodbye.
Anna was in the theatre when Alisha arrived. She went to see Alfonso in his ward, he was injured in his legs, and the doctor said he would be on wheel chair for a few days. He was on sedative and was sleeping, she left his side a while later and went to wait upon Anna.
Her phone rang while she sat waiting to hear news on Anna. It was only when she looked at the caller did she realize that Leonardo will be super worried as she left without informing him.
Im at the state hospital was all she said before she saw a doctor coming out of the theatre and she had to drop the call to speak with him.
Family or friend? the doctor asked
Im family, her eldest sister Alisha replied with urgency, the doctor was wearing a long face and she could perceive that all was not well.
Lets talk in my office the doctor said and she nodded and followed him.
She is two months pregnant, but I am afraid we will need to take away the baby to save her life, there are some complications. The doctor said with a gentle voice.
Alisha nodded as tears dropped from her eyes while the doctor went ahead to give instructions to prepare the paper Alisha was to sign.
Dad, I dont think I am strong to sign it, or maybe I am just worried that if she wakes up and realize that I approved of them to get rid of her 9 weeks baby she would think it is vengeance for her supposed betrayal. Alisha said over the phone, she had decided to call her dad before she signed the document.
Come on Alisha, we dont have a choice I am sure Anna will understand and would not hold it against you. Her dad encouraged. She signed the document and allowed the doctor to go do his job on Anna.
Alisha was feeling suffocated and decided to head out for air when she saw a commotion at the receptionist desk, she was going to pass and ignore the commotion when she recognized Leonardos voice in the midst of the commotion.
Leo, what is it? she asked him surprised to see him exchanging words with the lady at the desk. Alisha pulled him by his hands until they were outside and out of sight.
What is wrong with you? Alisha asked him
What is wrong with me? You have been acting strange all morning, I looked for you only for you to tell me you were at the hospital, with no reason you ended the call, I have been calling you back but you wont take my calls, I arrived here and the receptionist kept telling me there was no patient named Alisha Legend here. Leonardo said in one breath
Sorry I dont know where I currently left my phone, and I am Alisha Adams and not Alisha Legend, and I am not even the patient, its Anna and Alfonso, they were involved in a plane crash. Alisha explained.
Leonardo was going to argue about the last name later, but for now he needed to be sure Anna was fine.
How are they? he asked worried
I dont know, dad called me to inform me, Alfonso will be on a wheel chair for a while, Anna is undergoing surgery, the baby will be taken out.
The child could be put in an incubator, she will survive. Leonardo was optimistic
"There is no she or he Leo, the baby was just 9 weeks, there is no way it could make it in an incubator. Alisha sobbed and Leonardo held her close.
They stood there in a heavy silence for a while until Alisha suggested they go check on Anna. She was awake and they allowed them into the ICU for five minutes.
Hi Alisha said to her.
Heard you signed to have my baby out. Anna said with no emotion
It was needed to save you.
That was what you wanted all along right, why do you hate me so much Alisha? You have everything you want, but then you take the little ones I have. Anna said staring deep into her soul through her eyes.
I think its time you heard this Anna, I got married to Leonardo because of you, it wasnt even a real marriage, it was a contract marriage, just so I could get money for your brain surgery, everything I did was for you, you think I just let Alfonso go because I had Leonardo as a second choice? No, Anna, he was going to get married to Ema, if I didnt want to be alone, or I didnt care I would have insisted I got married to Alfonso and you would have gotten rid of the child a long time ago, but instead I chose to be a big sister, to look after you and make you happy, and this is what I get? Alisha lashed out on her.
Anna looked pale, she was speechless to what Alisha had just said, she was filled with regret for every time she had thought Alisha had the best things and didnt want any good for her.
I think you need a moment Leonardo whispered into Alishas ear and pulled her gently out of the ICU. Tears fl
flowed down Alishas face as she and Leonardo walked down the hallway. The tears blinded her eyes, she felt dizzy all at once and she stopped walking.
Alisha, are you alight? Leonardo asked as he stopped moving too, and turned to face her. She tried to speak but instead she slumped and was about to drop to the ground when Leonardo caught her and held her close.
Call a doctor he screamed to a nurse that was approaching them. The nurse ignored him and came to be sure if she needed to administer first aid before leaving, carry her and follow me the nurse instructed and she led them to an empty ward before leaving to get a doctor.
The doctor arrived immediately and carried out some tests, while he administered basic treatment, the test result came out shortly later, but Alisha was already awake, while Leonardo was patting her hair.
Mr. Legend, mind if I have a word with you outside? the doctor said and excused himself while Leonardo gave Alisha a quick kiss on her forehead and followed the doctor.
With her present state, she shouldnt be exposed to stress, she could lose the bay. The doctor said
Baby? What present state, what baby? Leonardo asked confused
Shes a month gone, she is pregnant. The doctor announced
But she did a pregnancy test few days back and it came out negative. Leonardo was still confused
A few reasons could be responsible for that, but I did a blood test, and it is the most accurate test of all, either ways, I need you to make sure she feeds well, and I recommend bed rest. The doctor said and then he prescribed some vitamins he needed Leonardo to get for her.
We are pregnant baby Leonardo said excitedly as he came into the room, hoping he would brighten her spirit. Alisha was quiet, she didnt know how to react, she didn't know if she should be happy or sad, how would Anna feel if she found out that Alisha was pregnant when she had just lost her baby?
"I don't know Leo, I'm scared" she opened up
"Don't be scared baby, you have all the right to be happy, don't let the issue with Anna ruin this goodnews for you, and stop worrying it's bad for the baby. As selfish as this might sound, I am happy to have a second chance to be part of your pregnancy journey, maybe now I can forgive myself for missing out on Ina's early days."
"I just hope Anna will see that I love her and care about her." Alisha lamented
"She will baby, in no time, she's just hurting now but she will be fine." Leonardo encouraged.
"Lisha" her dad said coming into the ward the next morning
"Dad, I'm so sorry. I know you told me not to let me emotions get the better of me, but I think I lashed out too much on her." Alisha apologised
"No baby, it's fine, she told me what happened, I think it's right about time, you should have told her about the sacrifice you did for her long ago. I know she is sorry now, although she is still hurt about the loss of her baby, but she'll be fine."
"Dad, I didn't want to sign it, but I had to choose her over the baby, if she was not fine there was no chance for the baby at all." Alisha sobbed
"I know baby, don't beat yourself to it." her dad consoled while Leonardo stood quiet holding her hand.
"I don't know how she will feel when she finds out I am pregnant" Alisha still panicked
"Wow, you are expecting a baby, while I just lost mine. Isn't that wonderful?" Anna smiled and was clapping as she entered into Alisha's ward.
