Chapter 4: Uncertainty!
Carl was now harboring anger in his heart, and he huddled in a corner with his shoulders in his hands, looking angry.
"Kindness is considered to be an ill intention. I'll chase her away tomorrow, and this time I'll show no mercy."
He wanted to make a phone call to Edward and go to Edward's place to sleep for the night. But he remembered that Edward and his girlfriend had been living together for more than a year, so it wasn't appropriate to do so. Finally he silently put the phone in his pants pocket again.
He was starting to get annoyed at himself for not being cruel to her, or he wouldn't be hiding out in the cold wind and suffering in the night alone.
In the middle of the night, Carl was curled up in a corner asleep, and the door quietly opened. Paisley carefully peeked out and quietly covered the two cotton blankets over him. Looking at him sleeping, she giggled, and slipped back into the house.
The next day, Carl was awakened by a cell phone ringing, rubbed his eyes, immediately touched the blanket on his body, and he felt warmed, thinking that this girl was somewhat loving.
But he immediately thought that he slept outside the door was due to her, he then became annoyed, picked up the phone and shouted, "Damn, what's with the early morning phone calls."
There was a growl from Edward on the other end of the phone, "Look at what fucking time it is and you're not coming to work. Can't we just set the word credibility into the alarm clock? Your new boss is arriving soon. Don't be late.
Hearing Edward's words, Carl bounced up from the ground with a sudden jolt, and looked at the time to see that it was already 8:15, only fifteen minutes from work. Instantly, his hazy drowsiness like a tidal wave receded. He shouted to the phone, "Edward, help me hold back. I will be there in five minutes."
After hanging up the phone, he started kicking in the door and shouting, "Paisley, open the door, I have to change for work."
There was silent in the house, as if no one was there.
"Hurry up and open the door, or I'll be late."
There was still dead silence in the house.
Carl looked at the time, biting his teeth and cursed that it was too late. He thought that in the headquarters, Edward should have clothes left inside. So he immediately stepped on flip-flops, wearing big pants and a small vest, and rushed towards the headquarters in a hurry.
Carl took a taxi to the headquarters and clocked in on time. There was no time to flirt with the girl at the front desk, so he rushed to Edward's conference room, but there was no one inside.
He hurriedly turned around and rushed toward the planning department, but as soon as he reached the hallway, he collided with a person with a thud and a stack of papers flew off the person's arms and scattered across the floor.
Carl was sweating profusely, just wanted to say sorry to that person, but he immediately looked stunned and stared at the person, "It's you, fuck! I can't believe you've followed me here."
This was the same woman who Carl slept with when he entered the wrong room. She was locked up by him on the rooftop.
Today was Amina's first day at work at the branch headquarters, she had a hard time calming down her anger yesterday and prepared a bunch of information for a meeting at the planning department this morning.
But she didn't expect to be hit by someone just as she entered the headquarters, and papers were scattered all over the floor. And this was the same bad guy who had slept with her yesterday and locked her up on the rooftop.
If the worker from the wedding headquarter hadn't come up to open the door, she wasn't sure how long she would have been trapped.
They were more furious when they met. If anger could burn the earth, the rage in Amina's eyes would be able to sweep through the entire headquarter.
However, Carl didn't have time to observe the anger in Amina's eyes at the moment, and said irritably to her, "Why are you endlessly chasing me? Haven't I return your phone? You've come to my headquarters. I'm telling you, you just want to blackmail me for some money, don't you? Wait for me in the lobby at noon, I'll pay you, and we'll be done from then on, so don't pester me."
After saying that, he hurried towards the planning department, not even looking at the woman behind him.
"Scum!"
Amina blew a raspberry at him and sneered, "So you work here. You're in deep shit!"
......
He rushed to the planning department, where Mr. Lau was dressed formally for a meeting and the rest of his colleagues were all standing below him.
He squeezed into the crowd and wiped the cold sweat from his head, thinking it was fortunate that his new boss hadn't arrived yet.
Mr. Lau of the Planning Department turned pale and looked at Carl with a particularly strange gaze, and the rest of his colleagues did the same, staring at him like watching monkey in the zoo. Carl was a bit depressed, looking around immediately and knowing what was wrong, and then he quickly broke out in cold sweat.
He saw more than a dozen colleagues standing in the planning department, and everyone was wearing a suit and tie, and polished leather shoes. At a glance, all look like elites.
And only he was wearing a tank top, big pants, and flip-flops, standing in the crowd, looking very awkward, like the rising sun dazzling to the extreme, making all his colleagues shocked.
At this moment, Carl wanted to dig a hole and bury himself to hibernate, because it was so damn humiliating.
Mr. Lau hurriedly winked at Carl, indicating that Carl should hide first. Carl immediately knew what he meant and was just about to turn around and leave when a staccato sound of high heels came into the planning department's conference room.
Carl turned pale and hastily shrank up to hide in the crowd, standing behind his two colleagues with his legs apart, only a gap showing. He hoped his new boss would just drop by for a casual visit and turn around right away, so he could still get away with it.
A woman in a professional suit walked into the conference room with high heels. She was tall, had long hair, and looked beautiful. Especially under the backdrop of the high heels, this woman looked even taller with her long legs. And she looked very attractive with a feminine unique noble temperament!
Mr. Lau stood on the stage and applauded, "Everyone, welcome our new boss, Miss Amina."
Under the stage, applause rang out. Carl curiously looked up, then he was totally shocked. He was stunned and a cold feeling was from the soles of the feet straight to the top of the head. He goggled at her, and almost jumped to his feet.
"How could it be her? Wasn't she a bar girl at the hotel? Damn, no matter how good Edward is this time, he won't be able to save me. I am in deep shit!"
What Carl never expected was that the woman who shared his bed with him was the new boss, and he actually slept with her and locked her up on the roof. He seemed to have offended her again just now, and it seemed that this time he was going to be punished hard.
He began to feel very unlucky. At first, he met a woman for no reason at all and she was at his home all day for freeloading on him, then he finally decided to get back to work, but inadvertently "slept" with the new female boss. He completely screwed up this time.
He was a little guilty, intentionally hiding himself at the end of the crowd, and now he really hoped that his female boss hadn't seen him and God help him for letting him get away with it.
Amina smiled and coldly glanced at Carl, but she hated him in her heart, and she saw that scum enter the planning department with her own eyes.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Mr. Lau began to report the sales results of the past few months. After Amina listened absent-mindedly, she walked around all the crowd and saw that Carl had hidden himself at the end.
Mr. Lau held a breath and knew something bad was going to happen.
All colleagues laughed him in their hearts, gloating.
"What do you do, the one hiding at the end of the line?"
Amina endured anger and pointed at Carl, but scolded a hundred times in her heart. He dared to come to work in casual dresses.
Carl knew that eventually he couldn't avoid it and felt so aggrieved. He stood out silently in his flip-flops.
"Mr. Lau!"
Amina immediately shouted angrily, "Headquarter is a solemn and serious place. Especially the planning department should pay attention to appearances. How can such a person still set foot in the headquarters?"
Mr. Lau looked embarrassed and explained, "Chairman, he is a newcomer and may not understand many things, when I go back, I will definitely discipline him well."
......
Amina tapped the list of headquarters layoffs on her desk with her index finger, making a thumping sound.
"Scum, you're in my hands now."
