Ciao, Italia
The days fly past me in waves as Deimos fills up every part of my being. He empties his cup into me and I drink it all up not leaving a single drop. I am overflowing. With love, warmth, and happiness. When he told me, soul, before body I blindly accepted not thinking twice about it. But lately, I have been understanding the real meaning.
When you are with someone having nothing that connects you both but a pull or a physical attraction, the thread that links you both rots and dies with time. But if your souls are connected the thread grows stronger. It creates something. An unbreakable bond.
Yes, Deimos and I still feel the pull, and some nights when the moon is full, we cannot stop ourselves reaching the limit. Teeth biting. Hips grinding. We take what the other can give. But I learned not to take advantage of the situation. Our time is nearing so why rush.
"Lumina." Deimos calls out walking inside the room as the females' bow greeting him.
I put down the papers I was holding in my hands as I look up at him with a smile. "Yes, my male." I say softly.
"Leave." One word and the obedient females scurry out the room eyes glued to the floor.
He walks towards me with a gentle smile. "How are you today?" He asks me bending down giving me a soft kiss on my lips. I haven't seen him today at all.
"I need more coffee." I say lifting my mug and he chuckles until a frown takes over his face.
His thumb softly slides across my eyes. He looks worried as he speaks. "Am I overworking you, my female? Are you sleeping well?" His voice holds a gentle tone as he checks up on me.
Holding his wrist in my hand I kiss his pulse softly closing my eyes. "Don't worry too much." I reply.
He kneels putting his hands on my knees. "You need to tell me if you need a break. Don't push yourself." He says.
I smile as I run my fingers through his thick hair. "You will be the first to know, I promise." I tell him as he closes his eyes finding pleasure in the feeling.
"I need to talk to you about something." He says as I nod for him to continue. "Do you like it here, Lumina?" He asks me as I frown.
"Of course, I do. I love it here. I have my females... I have this wonderful place and I have... you." I say placing my palm across his cheek. Is he insecure? But why now after all this time together?
"Do you love it so much that you wouldn't be able to bear being apart from it for a while?" He questions me and I tilt my head to the side confused. What is this male poking at?
"Deimos, just tell me." I push him as he gets up and walks to the window.
With a sigh, he answers me, "This will be sudden but we have to leave for a while." He says short and straight to the point. What? Leave? Where? Why? So many questions flood my mind.
"I... But...So-." As my mind jumbles about to find the right question to ask him his fingers brush through his hair frustrated.
"I know you have a lot of questions; I will answer them with time but for now this is all I can tell you." He says as I stare at the floor deep in thought.
"All right at least answer me these. Where and is it just us?" I ask him.
"Italy. No, Ragon and Elriam will accompany us." He replies. My eyes widen when he said Italy. I thought it would be somewhere like a nearby town but a different country? I didn't even think about it.
Being an Alpha has its perks and one of the prime ones being travel. But I never had that opportunity as I could never leave my pack alone since no one was capable to look after it if I left.
"Can I be excited? Or should I be the serious Luna?" I ask him as I chew on my lower lip.
His lips curve up into a deep grin as he replies, "You can be excited. Very excited." He says emphasizing on 'very' and when I finally understand the meaning, he is implying my cheeks burn as I look down at my hands placed on my lap while my heart pounds.
"S-So when are we leaving?" I ask him so I can prepare my things.
"Tonight." He replies as the sound of my chair screeching back across the tile’s envelopes the room. Tonight? As in a few hours?
"Deimos, why have you told me so late? I need to go pack! For how many days must I p-" I move quickly towards the door mid-question as he holds my wrist and pulls me to his chest. He sniffs my scent as his lips make contact with the nape of my neck.
"It just got confirmed now. I didn't want to disappoint you if you knew before and it didn't happen." He whispers. I shift in his arms so that I am face to face with him. He holds my hips gently as I hold his shoulders.
"Thank you for thinking of me." I told him as he tilts' his head to the side.
"You know what I was thinking of?" He asks while he pulls me closer into him. He brings his mouth to my ear and whispers, "I was thinking of how we will finally have some 'alone time'." His mouth latches on to my neck once more as I gasp and tilt my head back giving him more access.
My hands find themselves deep in his hair and a loud moan escapes my lips. Holding my hips tighter Deimos begins to softly thrust himself on me. "The thought of it drives me wild." He grunts into my neck.
My lips attack his as he gulps down my loud moans and I swallow his growls. His hands fist my hair pushing his lips deeper into mine. I open my mouth and our tongues battle and make love. Teeth bite onto my lower lip. Pulling. Sucking. Tasting.
He pulls my hair backward forcing my eyes to meet his. His eyes wander around looking at my swollen lips to my hooded eyes. "Fuck." Is all that he says. I move towards his lips for another taste but he pulls my hair again to stop me. "Soon." He whispers.
Giving me one last kiss, he leaves the room indirectly telling me I am free to begin my packing. Rushing upstairs taking two steps at a time like an excited pup I barge into my room only to find Elriam calmly folding my clothes.
"Elriam?" I call out to her as she stands to hold up two dresses in the air.
"Which one do you prefer? The yellow or red?" She asks wishing me to choose one.
"What are you doing?" I ask her as she puts the yellow floral dress on my body analyzing me head to toe.
"Packing. Alpha Deimos already informed me about the trip earlier this morning whilst you were working." She calmly replies nodding and putting the yellow dress in the suitcase.
I stride towards the bed seeing piles of my clothes folded neatly waiting to be kept in the suitcase. "Why are you packing so much? This is nearly all of my closet!" I ask her frowning. I don't need to take these many clothes. It's merely just a trip.
"Didn't Alpha Deimos tell you?" She questions me picking up my undergarments.
"Tell me what?" I ask her confused.
"From what I know this isn't a small trip. We will be staying there for a while. I know you are confused but so am I. But how about you get ready as quickly as possible so we can head to the airport for our flight?" She replies closing the suitcase and taking it downstairs with her leaving me to get ready.
Excitement pools deeply within me. This could be a serious situation but I am excited as a pup getting ice cream for dinner. I look around the room and somehow it appears empty. This is so sudden. I should be upset or scared or even uncomfortable. But I am not.
I rush into the shower scrubbing my hair, brushing my teeth and as quickly as I went in, I scramble out. Elriam has already set out my clothes and shoes for the journey and I wear them without a doubt. I want to dance and jump around with this feeling erupting in the depths of my stomach.
Clearing up the room I give it one last look and head down the stairs. Large two shiny black jeeps are parked outside the castle's door so there will be no need to walk to the pack gates making it easier to load the suitcases.
I see Deimos in a serious conversation with two male wolves as he hands them some papers. The wolves stand tall hands behind their backs nodding to every word Deimos says. But what catches my attention is how their appearance. Their heads are shaved but not to the skin. Their bulky structure is enveloped in thick woolen cloaks while the right ear is adorned with a golden earpiece. They look.... different.
As I walk towards them, their striking eyes turn towards me. The wolf with the dark skin steps forward. I stare into his eyes as they catch me off guard. His eyes possess deep swirls of gold with a pitch-black rim whilst he had a tattoo of blazing gold that strikes down from the tip of his hairline to his nose. All I can think of is the word exotic.
"Luna Lumina." He bows deeply as I smile in greeting. "It's an honor to meet you." He says respectfully as my smile deepens.
"It's a pleasure to meet you...?" I ask for his name indirectly.
"Darko." He finishes as I nod in response. I look behind at the other wolf with skin the tone of fresh snow. Darko turns around and understands the situation.
"Oh, please excuse Awan. He cannot speak." Darko says as Awan's eyes widen as if a pup in trouble, he steps forward and bows deeply with respect.
"Oh no, it's okay... I was just... intrigued." I smile at Awan and he smiles back.
"Since the introductions are over, we should leave now. If there are any problems tell him to call me." Deimos speaks to the two wolves as they nod and stand up straighter, heads high.
I don't bother asking who these wolves were or why they were here. I know Deimos will tell me soon and I am not that impatient.
The sound of hushed whispers and whimpers call out to me as I find my females huddled together wary of the situation. I walk towards them with softness in my eyes.
"I will return soon. Will you all stay strong and wait for me?" I say gently as my females nod eagerly. The youngest one rushes toward me putting her arms around my hips as she still hasn't grown tall enough to reach my shoulders.
I hug her back tightly, looking down at her I wipe the tears that fall uncontrollably. "I'll be back soon. Remember your duties?" I ask her putting a strand of hair behind her ear.
"H-Help the elders a-and b-behave w-well." She says in between hiccups as I put my forehead upon hers.
"Good." I whisper letting her go. As she reaches the rest of the females, I give them one last encouraging look as I walk into the jeep through the door Deimos kept holding open patiently for me.
The ride to the airport was quick with Deimos on a call while I finished up the leftover papers I had to read and sign and within an hour and a half we boarded and settled down in the airplane.
Deimos sits next to me as Elriam and Ragon sit opposite us. My eyes wander around. I never thought airplanes had actual seats. I thought wolves sit on the ground. This airplane is quite big for just the four of us. Are more wolves coming? Are we waiting?
"Deimos." I softly call out to him.
"Hmm." He replies his eyes glued to his laptop.
"When are the others coming?" I whisper as he looks at me from beneath his black-rimmed glasses.
"Who?" He asks frowning.
"You know who. The other wolves who will be flying with us." I reply. He frowns further in confusion until a look of understanding crosses his face.
"This is my jet, Lumina. That means it's only for my use." He explains as my eyes widen.
"You own this? This large... bird? And I didn't know?" I ask him as he chuckles.
"I didn't think it was important. I don't own it anymore. We own it. Now if you don't have other questions may I continue my work?" He asks playfully.
"You may." I smile and look out the window.
As the airplane starts to move. I look forward to Elriam and she looks at me. We both understood each other's anxiety. I look at Ragon seated to her left as he calmly sips on his tea flipping through the magazine in hand.
The airplane starts to pick up the pace and my eyes widen. "D-Deimos it's going too fast." I whisper looking at him. He frowns in reply.
"Lumina it's just about to take off. That's all." He explains. Ragon looks between Elriam and me confused.
The jet begins to shake violently forcing out a loud sound. My body shakes up and down as I am thrown about by the force. "Deimos! What's happening?" My hand shoots out and clutches onto his arm. My stomach turns and I feel like puking. I am scared.
I look at Elriam her eyes are squeezed shut as she clutches the armrests tightly. Ragon has his hand on her shoulder telling her something. The shaking gets worse and I let out a small scream.
"Lumina calm down. We are almost there okay. It's okay, I am here. Shhhh." Deimos lifts the armrest bringing me to his chest as I squeeze my eyes shut clutching onto his shirt. His hand softly slides across my hair.
The shaking stops and I feel like my body are being lifted into the air. I feel weightless as though I am floating. Deimos doesn't let go of me still keeping me in his arms.
After a while, he finally whispers, "Lumina, look. Look out the window." I shake my head no and snuggle deeper into him. He softly pushes me away as I protest against his arms. "Trust me." He says and I finally open my eyes.
Looking out the window my eyes widen at the view of the clouds. "Elriam, are you looking at this?" I ask her my mouth wide open eyes glued at the puffy white clouds.
"I am." She replies perhaps in the same position I am in.
The sound of Ragon's laughter disrupts me as I stare at him. "You both looked like pups just then. Luna, you were screaming Deimos! Deimos! on one side and....." Ragon stops as laughter erupts from deep within his belly. "And Elriam was praying to the goddess to spare her life and forgive her sins."
Elriam smacks the back of his head as a deep blush envelope my face. I don't look at Deimos. I am embarrassed. Very embarrassed.
Deimos softly kisses my left cheek as I quickly turn my head to face him. His lips meet mine kissing my lips softly. "I am glad you are feeling better now." He whispers and I nod smiling.
Ragon continues laughing his head pushed back, hands and legs failing around. I glare at Deimos as he clears his throat. "Okay, that's enough." Deimos says to Ragon in response to my glare.
"Come on, Alpha tell me you didn't find that funny. Just a little bit." Ragon asks Deimos.
Deimos's stern and calm face slowly twists showing a hint of a smirk as I scoff. Ragon picks up his laughter once more.
"Come Elriam, let's go sit elsewhere leaving these useless males alone!" I huff and walk away to the other seats with Elriam hot on my trail.
"Lumina, we are just messing around. Come back." Deimos calls after me. "Ragon stop getting me into trouble." He says as Ragon chuckles in response.
The rest of the journey was beautiful. I was surrounded by music and laughter. We played cards, talked about our dreams and our pack's future. Deimos taught me some basic Italian words and Elriam even took her revenge by mixing salt in Ragon's cup of water. And as he choked and spit it out Elriam and I laughed and laughed. I didn't even know how much time passed.
"Elriam remember that one time when you-." Our conversation halted when Deimos uttered the words, "We have arrived." I look out the window and my mouth open wide a little. The twinkling lights seem like stars from above. The sea meets the land like art and I cannot help but be overwhelmed from the view that blesses my eyes.
A new place. For the first time, I have arrived in a new country. A beautiful country. I am happy. Putting my palm on the surface of the window I whisper smiling softly,
"Ciao, Italia."
("Hello, Italy.")
