The drive back to Deimos's pack was neither exciting nor fun. As time crept slowly it became painful and stressed me to the point of tears. I didn't want to return. Yes, I missed my females severely yet I always found peace with Cronus. And now that I am stripped off his warmth, it frightens me. I don't know where I would run and find peace if Deimos breaks it again.
Deimos's eyes watch the tears streaming down my face softly as my eyes notice the shake of his hands and the tight clench of his jaw. He doesn't like the fact that he is the reason for my tears. He doesn't like that he is forcing his female back to the place she doesn't want to be in.
"Stop crying, mate." He whispers as I glare out the window at the passing trees.
"Does it bother you?" I ask him as I hiccup softly.
"Yes." He speaks.
"Then you should have left me at Cronus's pack." I glare at him showing my frustration as Deimos balls his fist and looks away. He doesn't speak another word. I have won this time.
Deimos neither looks at me nor sparks a conversation for the rest of our journey and it pleases me. I am not interested in anything he has to say. As I drown in my thoughts the car jerks to a stop and I wince and look around.
The driver gets off and opens Deimos's door. Deimos glides off the car stretching his limbs as he walks to my side opening the door. I don't move watching him questioningly. Where are we? What are we doing here?
Deimos smiles softly answering my questions that he didn't hear. "There's a restaurant up ahead. Let's eat, mate." He says giving me his hand to take.
I ignore his hand and walk forward leaving him behind. With my head held high, I pay him no attention as I keep walking towards the restaurant. I flinch when suddenly I am shoved back into a hard chest. Deimos crushes me tighter his large hands holding my waist.
He whispers in my ear, "Don't you know I love myself a chase, mate?" His voice husky and low.
I struggle trying to free myself as he holds me tighter. "Silent treatment? Are you not going to speak to me?" He says with a chuckle as if speaking to a pup. He teases me and my frustration creeps up to the brim. I stomp on his leg yet he makes no move.
"Okay how about this, I'll give you two options. You either speak now or I'll take you back into the car and make you scream my name. Choose wisely mate." His voice is dark as I feel his hot breath upon my neck. "I prefer you choose the second one." Deimos whispers as his teeth bite into the back of my neck. Pulling softly and sucking, he rains pleasure upon me.
I gasp as the feeling takes over me. Deimos rubs himself upon the flesh of my ass and I feel his heat through the clothes. I shift my neck to the side as he pours hot kisses and bites upon it. I don't pay attention to our environment as I enjoy the sensation and the fire between us. It has been quite a long time since he touched me.
As I come back to earth, I jerk away surprising him and look behind panting. "I choose option one." I say as Deimos smiles. No, not a kind smile but a smile that pairs with the promise of pleasure in his eyes.
Deimos takes the lead and I follow quietly not wanting to awaken his dominance and passion again. I don't want to get distracted from the heat of our bodies. As he opens the door to the restaurant the loud chattering ends to a complete pin drop silence.
The wolves get off their chairs and bow deeply to us as the waiter stumbles towards us with nervous steps. Deimos nods towards a table at the back as the waiter bows and guides us. I on the other hand smile and nod at the wolves accepting their greeting.
As we sit down, the chatter begins and the wolves go on with their conversations. As I skim through the wolves seated my eyes find a family. The parents are deep in their chatter as the pup’s stare at me with their big curious round eyes. I smile softly and chuckle when they look away quickly with red cheeks. How much warmth and happiness would a family have?
"Do you want that?" Deimos asks me calmly as I nod my head. "With me?" He asks once more, his voice strong and sharp as I look into his eyes.
"I-I... don't k-know anymore." I tell him looking away. I feel like I am doing something wrong saying this to him.
Deimos gives a sharp nod as he doesn't seem fazed by my answer. "I'll change your answer soon." His eyes hold a promise as I look out the large window. I don't want to reply to that. That would only start an argument.
The waiter brings our food quickly and I begin to sate my hunger. I feel Deimos's eyes on me throughout our dinner, yet I pay him no heed munching on my meal softly. I feel he has questions. Answers he wants from me. I don't know what they are but I am in no mood to help calm his uncertainty.
Finishing up on our meal, we continue our journey. I don't sleep a wink and neither does Deimos. He has been disturbed since our dinner. Each of us consumed by our thoughts and insecurities we forget about time and place.
Deimos shifts and stretches while the driver speaks on the phone giving me clear signs, we have reached the pack. I look up ahead to find the huge gates of Deimos's pack. The pit of my stomach turns as nervousness floods every inch of me.
As the car passes through the gates, my nervousness increases by the second giving the need to puke. I am back to the place I ran from. What new battles await me I wonder?
But everything shatters and disappears when I see my females huddled together, eagerly waiting. Their eyes searching uncertain. Scared. They think I haven't come.
Rather than feelings of pain and fear a new feeling arises within me. A feeling of home.
Getting out of the car the screams and loud wails of my females reaches my ears. It pains me to see how not being by their side has hurt them. As I open my arms wide, they run towards me surrounding me. They engulf me in warmth as they sob and hold me tight as I close my eyes and breathe in their scents.
"I am sorry for putting myself before you all. I am sorry for being selfish. I will never leave again; this is my truth. I am home." As I tell them softly, they sob harder pouring onto me how much they missed me. Actions speak louder than words.
As we all gather into the packhouse the females begin to spoil me. The pups bring me flowers as I sit upon the floor while my females surround me some platting my hair while the others brush scented oil upon my skin. This is and always has been a tradition.
There is no male in sight. It is a rule, while the Luna is with her females the males are not allowed to disturb.
"We missed you so much, Alpha." I hear Elriam's voice behind me as I swiftly turn to look straight at her. I raise my hand towards her as she takes it and sits next to me. She puts her forehead upon mine closing her eyes as I do the same. She greets me with tearful eyes as I softly smile.
"I am sorry." I tell her. "I am sorry, all of you." I tell once more looking at all the females.
"It's okay we understand. We always will." They reply with soft smiles and warm eyes as my heart calms down.
"Sometimes I wonder if I should take a female as my mate." I tell them with a teasing tone as they all look at me with widened eyes.
"Over my dead body, mate!" I hear Deimos's voice boom outside the large door.
"Alpha keeps quiet! This is not the way to spy!" Ragon hisses towards Deimos.
My females and I look at each other quietly with surprised faces and begin to laugh. We laugh from our belly. Our laughter mingling with one another dancing across the walls sparking a deep peace within us.
As the moon climbs high up the sky, we slowly bring our conversations to a stop. The female pups have cuddled up to their mother's chests deep in sleep and my females' faces are dull with tiredness.
"I think it's time to rest." I tell them softly as they all shake their heads.
"No, Alpha. We can talk more. We have a lot to say to you. A lot to ask you." They all nod agreeing with one another as I smile warmly.
"I am not going anywhere. When daylight streams through your windows tomorrow and you open your eyes, I'll still be here." I tell them softly as their lips wobble and cheeks flush. "Go to your mates and lay down your pups."
As we all prepare to leave the room, they each hug me and whisper, "See you tomorrow, Alpha."
I walk slowly from the packhouse towards Deimos's castle. As I look up at the night sky holding the bright moon, I smile. Home sweet home, yes? The trees dance softly to the music of the breeze and I close my eyes taking a deep breath filling my lungs with their scent.
"Luna." I open my eyes to see Ragon standing in front of me with a soft smile. "Welcome back." He speaks.
"Ragon. How have you been?" I ask him with a smile in return.
"Better than Alpha." He says sighing.
"What?" I question him frowning.
"I saw a new side of him for the first time in my life. When you left, he acted like it didn't faze him but his shield grew weaker day by day. We watched his frustration turn to anger. His anger turns to pain and his pain turn to fear." Ragon says looking up the sky.
"Is that so?" I question him acting like I wasn't interested. But I am. It pleases me I affect Deimos. That he is capable of missing me. Of missing us.
"Yes, Luna. I just wanted you to know. I need you to understand him." Ragon says softly as I look away from him.
Wanting to end this conversation I tell him quickly. "Right, okay. I shall leave now. I haven't slept a wink." I hug myself in response to the night's cold breeze. With one final smile of farewell to Ragon, I continue on my path to Deimos's castle.
As I open the large door of his castle, I inhale its scent as my eyes wander across the halls, up the stairs, and to the chandelier. The castle is dark. Darker than I remember. As if it has lost all its light and warmth only embracing coldness. Just like how it was when I first arrived here. But why?
Climbing up the stairs, sliding my fingertips softly up the railing I feel nostalgic. I don't quite understand my feelings yet. They are often at war.
As I open the door to my room, I smell my male before I see him. My eyes find his loose white linen shirt slowly swaying in the wind and the strands of his hair move softly upon his head. He is slouched upon the terrace railing looking farther into the pack lands. He seems to be deep in thought.
Walking slowly towards him taking soft steps I stand beside him. "What are you doing here Deimos?" I ask him curiously.
"I am here to wish you goodnight." He says still looking towards the land.
"You could have done that before. You didn't have to come to my room. You are disrupting my privacy." I tell him folding my hands across my chest.
"Do you not want me in your room, mate?" He asks me looking deep into my eyes.
"No." I tell him.
"You lie." He replies quickly. He is confident of himself and of us.
"I speak my truth, Deimos." My voice is strong and serious as I look away.
"Remember what I told you once before, mate? I can see beneath your shield. You want me here. You are happy I am here." He says taking a step towards me.
"Stop." My voice falters as I take a step backward.
"You want me by your side." He takes another step.
"Stop it." I move back as my heartbeat increases.
"You missed me terribly. You wanted to see me." He tells me unhesitant. Tears spring to my eyes. How can he see everything that I am yet I cannot see who he is? I hate this! I hate how he has the power to see through me.
"I said stop, Deimos." My lips wobble as I am backed up against the terrace wall as Deimos cages me within his arms.
"Tell me the truth, mate. I can see it but I want to hear it. I want to see the words roll off your lips." He says bringing his face close to mine as he watches my lips.
"Enough Deimos. Stop this." My voice grows louder as tears stream down my face. My cheeks flushed in frustration.
"Tell me! Tell me you want us. Tell me you want this, mate." His tone is fierce and dominant yet filled with insecurity as he pushes me deeper into the corner.
I push him away from me as hard as I can as he stumbles behind and looks at me surprised. He runs a hand through his hair frustrated.
"I don't want to do this! Don't you understand? I don't want to be alone anymore. You have caged me here, Deimos!" I scream, my chest heaving due to my loud sobs as I gasp for breath. Deimos pulls me by my arm and brings me to his chest.
"Then I will gladly come inside the cage with you, mate. There will be no wolf but us. Just you and me. I'll build you a castle in the cage. I can learn how to become a good mate. Now the question is will you let me?" I close my eyes as the sound of his heartbeat slowly transforms into the moon's song.
