Chapter 34

Macon POV

I stand behind the door, waiting for Karen to come back inside the house. I warned her only to give Kate the information I told her, or else I would kill Austin. I listen to the conversation. Kate does not want anything to do with her destiny. I need her to take her form so I can take mine. I will let her and Erick unite the packs, and then I will kill them both.

Karen comes in through the door. “I did as you asked. Do not hurt Austin. He is just a child,” Karen says.

I smile at her and grab her by the arms. I lean into her and kiss her hard on the mouth. “Thank you, sweetie,” I say to her. She pulls back from me.

“Don’t you ever fucking touch me again, you filthy bastard!” Karen screams at me.

“Oh, Karen, if I wanted you, I would take you. You have nothing I want, bitch.” Austin begins to cry as Karen and I scream at each other. “Go check on that fucking kid!” I yell at her. “I should kill him to put him out of his misery.”

Karen runs to the back to tend to Austin. I have time to kill until the Imperials make their way here. I need to convince them that I should run both packs for now. They are vulnerable and need me. Kate needs to get in line with her destiny, or I will kill her too. Poor Alexander. They will have his head soon.

There is so much going on to keep Kate in turmoil. She will never be able to listen to the wolves or communicate with Lester. If she could, she would know that I was the one who killed his sorry ass. If she happens to speak with them, I have to make sure the Imperials blame her for everything.

It is quiet. Austin has stopped crying, and Karen is not coming out. I guess I scared her good. At least that will keep her in line for the duration. Stupid bitch. Does she really think the pack gives a damn about her? They do not give a damn if she lives or dies after what she did. When my sweet wife told me what Karen did and how it resulted in the Alpha’s death, I knew it was time to act. I will be glad when all of this is over, and I can take my wife home with me. She has been here too long gathering information for me.

I hear a truck or car pull up in the driveway. I look out the window to see who it is. Erick, Kate, and Angieare back. What the hell? I go to Austin’s room to grab Karen to send her out before they can make it to the door. I push the door open, but there is no one inside Austin’s room. The window is open. That stupid bitch is trying to make a run for it. She won’t get far trying to carry Austin.

I hear screams from the front of the house. It is Karen trying to warn them. FUCK! I run back to the front of the house. Erick is putting Austin into the truck. I run up behind Karen and grab her.

“I will kill this bitch!” I scream.

“Get my son out of here, please!” Karen screams.

Erick jumps into the truck and begins to leave with Austin, Angie, and Kate. Kate is screaming for him to save Karen. What a heart, sister! I snap Karen’s neck and throw her on the ground, dead. “You are next, sister!” I yell at them as they speed away.

I run to my truck hidden behind the house. I get in, and it only takes me a moment to catch up to them. Erick is driving fast and reckless, trying to get back to his house and to safety. If he only knew that I have an ace in the hole.

Erick’s truck comes to a stop. There is fighting in the cab of the truck. I pull up to the side of the truck and see Erick slumped over against the steering wheel. I get out and open the passenger side door. I grab Angie and Kate out of the truck. Erick is unconscious behind the wheel, and Kate is screaming as I throw her into the cab of my truck. Angie jumps into the truck, holding Kate in place. I am back in my vehicle and gone before Erick has time to wake.

Angie struck him over the back of the head. Kate sits between us in the truck, not moving and in shock. “I have missed you, wife,” I say to Angie. I lean over and kiss her as Kate sits between us, not moving.

“Where are we going?” Angie asks.

“Home. Let the Moon River deal with Lester’s situation. We have to deal with this bitch,” I say to Angie.

“She is pregnant, my love,” Angie says.

“Good,” I say to her as we drive back home.
