Chapter 13 THIRTEEN

Chapter 13 THIRTEEN
"They haven't talked yet?" Carter asked and handed Raven the bottled water. They were currently inside the prison, interrogating the rogues the warriors caught last night.
Raven removed his gloves and took the water. "Not yet," he said. Carter peeked and shook his head.
"You've already killed them all, Alpha," he said, seeing all the dead bodies piled up inside the room.
"No, there's still another one I have left alive," Raven said. "But he may soon be dead if he won't start answering my question," he added, anger rising within him. He's been in the prison for hours questioning the rogues but didn't get any answers, which irritated him.
"Want me to switch with you?" Carter asked.
"What time is it?" Raven asked.
"Almost lunch break," Carter replied.
"Shit!" Raven cursed. "I have to go to Brienne's office. Make sure the fcking rogue spills some answers, because if not, I will make him pay for making me almost late for my appointment," Raven said, glaring at the room where the remaining rogue was.
"Alright, I got this," Carter said. Raven thanked his beta and hurriedly left the prison. He went back to the packhouse and showered. Raven took the keys and went out, driving to Brienne's office. Half an hour after his arrival, the employees were leaving for lunch. Raven checked his watch, messaged Brienne, and drove to the entrance where they were meeting.
"Hey, baby," Raven said upon seeing Brienne look at her and put his hand on her waist, but Brienne stayed silent. Raven's forehead creased.
"What is it? Did something happen?" he asked.
"They knew," Brienne whispered.
"What?" Raven asked.
"They knew about us. They were talking about it earlier. They saw us eating outside," Brienne said, removing his hand.
"And? Does it matter? I'm not hiding us," he said. Brienne glared at him.
"Of course, it does matter. They were saying things about me," she answered. Raven's eye darkened, and he held Brienne's hand.
"What is it? Tell me what they were saying about you," he said, sounding serious, which actually scared Brienne for a second.
"N-Nothing," she lied. Raven gritted his teeth.
"What is it, Bree?" he asked once again. Brienne gulped and bowed her head.
"They said I slept with you and that I seduced you, so that I won't lose my job in the company," she said.
"How dare they malign you?! Wait, I will fcking show them how ruthless I can be," Raven angrily said and walked towards the elevator, but Brienne stopped him.
"Raven, no!" Brienne said.
"No, Bree. We have to teach them a lesson!" Raven said.
"Please, Raven," Brienne begged while holding onto Raven's shirt. With a sigh, Raven cupped Brienne's face, leaned forward, and kissed her forehead.
"Fine, I won't take actions personally," he said. Brienne was about to ask him what it meant, but Raven had already pulled her out of the building.
"Raven, I can't go with you today," Brienne said. "I don't want to add another topic to their gossip," she added, but when she saw Raven's smile drop, Brienne felt something tug in her heart.
"But we can still see each other after work hours," she said, which lit up Raven's mood.
"Okay, but what about lunch?" Raven asked.
"I'll just eat with my friend, Janice. See you later," she said and went out of the car. Raven heaved a sigh and tapped the wheel. Seeing that Brienne was already gone, he parked the car and went inside the building.
Raven pushed the button to reach Johnson's floor. He may not respond to the rumor-spreader, but Johnson will.
Raven arrived on Johnson's floor. His secretary immediately acknowledged his presence and knocked on the Johnson's office.
"Sir J, Sir Raven is here," she said.
"Send him in," Johnson replied. Raven thanked the secretary and went inside Johnson's office. On his table, papers were stacked.
"Hey, what's up?" Johnson said and removed his eyeglasses.
"I have a report to make," Raven said. "And this is important. I will double the investment," he added. Johnson straightened his back and clasped his hands together.
"Let us hear it," Johnson said, and Raven began to tell him everything Brienne told him earlier.
"So, what do you want as their punishment?" Johnson asked.
"Fire them," he said. "I don't want to see their faces in here because instead of minding their own business and focusing on work, they were out there maligning Brienne," he added.
Johnson, shaking his head internally, said, "Okay, fine, I will have Sasha investigate it to see who was involved and have them fired." The unfortunate individuals must confront the fury of the Crescent Stone pack's Alpha.
"Thanks, man!" Raven said. "Anyway, how's your pack? Any rogue attacks?" he asked. Johnson is the Alpha of the Luminous Pack, as well as their allied pack.
"Fortunately, my pack wasn't attacked. We've been peaceful for awhile, though I always made sure to tell my warriors not to let their guards down because it was rogues we were talking about," Johnson replied. "Unpredictable bastards," he added.
"We've been attacked twice for the past week," Raven said, which surprised Johnson. "I ordered Carter to investigate because their attacks were unusual. Not that my pack can't fend them off, but they attack in groups now," he added. The Crescent Stone pack was one of the largest and most active on the continent.
"Damn, what are those bastards brewing?" Johnson asked. "Have you reported this to the council?" he added. The Council of Werewolves consists of elder wolves, who gather to make decisions for the community. They set rules for each pack, make safety decisions, and govern how their groups interact with humans.
"Yes, and they said they'd look into it," Raven said, shrugging his shoulders. "I just wanted you to watch out. Have the word spread to your allied packs," he added.
"Alright, I will do that," Johnson said. "Anyways, do you need more? I have a meeting in about an hour, so I can cancel if you have something else to say," he added.
"No, I'm good. That's all," Raven said and stood up. "I'll deposit the money in your bank account. Have the contract revised and send it to my beta. Thanks, Johnson," he added.
"Got it, thanks man!" Johnson said so and shook Raven's hand. His investment was beneficial for his company; it wouldn't hurt to fire a few employees for this.
As Raven exited the office, he saw the secretary bow her head at him. He exited the building and went back to the pack.
