Chapter 11 ELEVEN
Raven parked the car in front of Brienne's place and hurriedly opened the door for her. Brienne went out of the car and grabbed her bag.
"Let me take the food we bought," he said. Brienne's forehead creased.
"I thought that wasn't food?" she asked. Raven closed the door and locked his car. He went to Brienne's side and put his arm on her waist.
"I saw you checking out the food earlier; that's why I bought it," he said.
"What? Are you crazy? You didn't have too!" she said, but her heart melted at the gesture because Raven was observing her.
"It's alright. As long as you are satisfied and full," he said. They headed inside the building, and Brienne greeted the owner, who in return nodded her head.
"I heard the news about your ex-boyfriend," Raven began as they climbed the stairs. Brienne heaved a sigh.
"I heard it too. It was horrible. God, I didn't know he was that kind of man. I felt sorry for the poor victims," she said, shaking her head in disbelief. "Good thing he was arrested. I hope he rots in jail," she added. They arrived at her floor, and they saw a man about the same build as Raven. In fear, Brienne instinctively held Raven's hand. The man slightly bowed at Raven. Brienne quickly unlocked her room and pulled Raven in.
"Do you know that guy? He looks a bit scary," she said. Raven sat on the bed and pulled her onto his lap.
"I don't know him, but he seems like a nice guy," he said. "If you're worried, I will talk to him," he added. Of course, Raven knew the guy. It was Flint, one of his warriors, who he ordered to guard Brienne while he's away.
"What if he wanted to fight you?" Brienne inquired, worry etched in her face.
"I can manage. You saw how I punched your pathetic ex-boyfriend in the face. I can handle that guy," Raven confidently said. Brienne rolled her eyes and stood up.
"You should go home. It's already late," Brienne said. Raven followed her, hugging her from behind.
"Can I stay for an hour?" he asked, putting his head on her shoulder.
"No, I want to sleep early," Brienne said, her heart beating loudly in her chest. Raven heaved a sigh and made her turned around.
"Can I at least get a kiss?" he asked. Brienne nodded her head. Before claiming her lips, Raven cupped her face and planted a kiss on her cheeks. Raven pulled her closer, his hand rubbing her back and cupping her butt cheeks. Brienne gasped and moaned.
"R-Raven..."
"Sorry, baby. I just fcking miss you so much," he said and lifted her up. He continued kissing her, pinning her against the wall. Brienne wrapped her arms around his neck and moaned.
Raven kissed her neck, going down to her chest. Unconsciously, Brienne started grinding on Raven, making the latter grumble as he could feel his dck getting hard.
Raven went back to kiss her lips, seeking entrance, which Brienne gladly gave. His tongue gently brushed against hers, and she responded in kind, their movements slow and tender, exploring each other with passion and care, but Raven had to stop. He let go of Brienne, putting his forehead against her.
"Sorry, baby. I have to stop here, or I might take you in this creaky bed," he seductively said, making Brienne blush. Raven slowly put her down, and Brienne immediately fixed her dress.
"Are you going now?" she tenderly asked.
"Yes," Raven answered. "See you tomorrow, baby. Don't forget to lock your door and windows," he added and kissed Brienne's forehead. Brienne nodded and waved her hand goodbye as she watched Raven go out of her room. Brienne slumped on her bed, clutching her chest.
"That was close," she whispered.
Raven, on the other hand, knocked on the door where Flint was staying. The door opened, revealing his warrior.
"Alpha," Flint greeted.
"Flint, where's Dex?" Raven asked.
"He's outside, Alpha," Flint answered.
"Come out, let's talk outside with Dex," Raven said. Flint nodded his head, shut the door behind him, and followed the Alpha.
They went out of the building, and Raven immediately saw Dex across the street. They crossed the road and gathered.
"Dex, what did you find?" Raven asked.
"Nothing suspicious, Alpha. Just a bunch of troublemakers around which I can deal with," Dex replied.
"Good, what else?" Raven asked.
"I found a small pack nearby and had a conversation with the Alpha. They were also willing to help guard the area," he said.
"That's good; I might visit them soon to give my thanks," Raven said. "What about you, Flint? Any suspicious on the building?" he added and turned toward Flint.
"I found two on the next floor and one on the same floor as Miss Brienne," Flint said. "I'll have Siv find their details, as I've already sent him the photos. So far, the three had never seen Miss Brienne coming in and out of her room. I will continuously guard her," he added.
"That's good, Flint. Thank you, guys," Raven said and tapped his warriors' shoulders. "Don't worry, I will give you rewards once Bree decides to stay with us," he added.
"It was our honor to serve you and the pack, Alpha," Dex said.
"Before I send you back, I have to say something to you, Flint," he said. "Brienne got scared of you earlier, so make sure to approach her carefully," he added.
"I understand, Alpha," Flint said.
"I will see you tomorrow," Raven said and crossed the road. He entered his car and started the engine. Raven looked at the second floor of the building before driving back to the pack.
When he arrived, he parked the car in his garage and went straight to his office. Raven reviewed a few documents and rewatched the news about Jasper. He smirked when he remembered Jasper's reaction earlier. He was frustrated and confused, but it was just right. Jasper has to pay the price for his crimes.
Raven's phone rang, and he saw Carter's name flash on the screen.
"What do you want?" Raven asked.
"Are you back?" Carter asked.
"Yes, mom," Raven teasingly said and heard Carter curse on the other line.
"I'm going to see your Brienne and tell her you stink," Carter said. Raven chuckled.
"She liked my smell, idiot. Now, what do you want?" Raven asked.
"Come out and let's hang out. I brought beer from Mike's," Carter said.
"Fine, I'll be there," Raven said. His beta, Carter, has been with him since he inherited the pack from his deceased father. Since they grew up together, Carter has been like a brother to him, and he is grateful that Carter is with the pack, serving as his right hand man.
