Chapter 64: Chapter Sixty-Four: Rogues.
EVERYONE inside the palace is worried about the Princesses.
“Elen! Selina!”
Shiloh was crying while shouting their names as if they already know their names and will answer her if she called them out. Even though she was nervous and her body is trembling in fear that her daughters might be in danger, she insisted to find them with the Royal Guards and Maidservants.
“My Queen…”
She turned her head to Loki. He was still panting after running.
“Where is Jean? Did you already find her?” she asked.
Loki let out a heavy sigh. “I’m sorry but we couldn’t find her. I will post her illustration in every corner in and outside of the palace.”
Shiloh closed her eyes as tears started to fall off her cheeks. She couldn’t believe that this is happening right! All she thought was Jean was just trying to seduce Loki but now? How could he abduct their daughters?
“I didn’t see this coming. I thought it was me, who she wants to ruin…” Loki said. “This is my fault. I should’ve been more cautious…”
“You can’t blame yourself now, your highness,” she said. “It’s already done.”
“I’m sorry…” Loki sighed.
“Just… go find our daughters.”
Loki brushed his hair with his fingers as he frustratedly sighed once more. He didn’t expect that this would happen. He was determined that he was the one that Jean was trying to persuade. When he was so determined, Jean has another plan.
Outside the palace, Lincoln was already waiting for him with the car.
“Where are we going now, your highness?” Lincoln asked.
Loki showed him the paper that he was holding. It is the portrait of Jean.
“But what if she’s a shapeshifter and she has already shifted into her original physical feature?” Lincoln asked.
“We will post her Jean’s face but we will secretly find Amanda.”
“Are you sure it was her?”
He nodded. “Yes, I saw it in her eyes when she looked at me.”
“Alright, then, let’s go and find her.”
Loki and Lincoln had already found where Amanda went after Arnold was held in prison. She escaped before she could receive her punishment.
They are now going to their enemy’s lair to see if she’s in there. Even though it’s risky, they will try to negotiate with them. Those Rogues are strong, they are runaway Lycans and Werewolves who are against the government. Especially to Roosevelts.
After the long drive to the deep forest of North Verlice, they finally found the lair of Rogues.
But then, as soon as they went out of the car. Their wolf warriors quickly blocked their way!
“Who are you? And what are you doing here?!” The wolf who they think has a higher rank among these Rogues stepped forward to ask.
“We are here to talk to your leader. I am the King Alpha,” Loki replied.
“The King Alpha?” His eyes looked surprised. He looked behind him and then nodded. “Call our Lord.”
Loki looked around the forest. He has been here before when he was still a child and his father tried to negotiate with the Leader of the Rogues too. It isn’t the first time that they negotiate, his father had done it before…
He was expecting the old leader of their group, however, he was surprised when a Lycan with long hair went out of the tropical house. His eyes were blue, his skin was dark and he has a muscular body.
“What are you doing here?” The Lycan in front of them asked.
He was so tall that Loki has to raise his head to look at him.
“I heard that a criminal from the palace is hiding here, she’s a she-wolf and has the ability to shapeshift into another face.”
The Lycan held his hand. “I didn’t know that you’re rude, your highness. I’ve seen your father before when I was still young. And he’s polite and respectful. However, you’re far from him. You didn’t even tell me your name.”
Lincoln quickly bowed his head. “We apologize. I am Lincoln, the Beta of South Verlice and this is Loki, our King Alpha…”
He smirked. “Do you know how dangerous it is to come over here without backup?”
He looked around and see if they have someone else with them. “I can’t see Royal Guards…”
“I didn’t go here with my Royal Guards to prove that I am not here to declare war. I want to negotiate with you. This she-wolf took my daughters and I badly needed to get them.”
“No one came here from the palace,” he replied. “And if ever she came here, I won’t let her join us. Everyone here is male. We don’t allow women in our tribe.”
“What?” he asked in confusion. “I remember when I came here before, there are women.”
“Yes, but we didn’t allow them now.”
“Since when?”
“Since women betray us.”
His heart sank upon hearing that from the leader of Rogues. He thought Amanda is here. If she’s not hiding in this tribe, then where is she?
“I’m sure that you got it wrong. There’s another Rogue Wolves who started an organization in the South. I heard it. Maybe she’s in there.”
“What? Tell me where it is?” he asked.
The leader smirked and crossed his arms in his chest. “What about negotiating with me? I can also help you find that she-wolf you are looking for…”
His lips pursed. “What do you want in exchange?”
“That woman. I want her. We need a woman to continue our tribe so you have to give her to me.”
He was surprised by what the leader asked for. “What are you going to do with her, then? You’ll make her your wife?”
The leader nodded. “No, she will just be my breeder. It doesn’t matter to me if she’s ugly or beautiful. I just need someone to bear my child. Once she gave birth to a girl. I will send her back to you.”
“Why do you need a girl?”
“To continue our tribe. If it’s my daughter then I can trust her. But that woman committed a crime so I can’t trust that she won’t betray me.”
Loki glanced at Lincoln. He didn’t know, but it’s kind of unfair for Amanda…
