Chapter 32 Thirty Two

Chapter 32 Thirty Two
Elara's POV

Allan snorted, slamming his hand on the table. The sound echoed off, his glass shattering on the floor.
“I didn't bring you all the way here for this crap.”

I didn’t flinch. I took a sip from my glass. Remaining calm while I slowly took in Allan's reaction.

How dare he?

I stayed still, my eyes locked on him.
“You were the one who invited me, Allan. I didn’t beg for this meeting. I didn't ask to see you, your fool.” I sneered and took a deep breath. I closed my eyes and tried to remain calm while wiping my hand on a napkin.

He stood up,his jaw clenched. I could feel his anger rising. He shot a cold glare at me, biting on his lower lip.

“Just because I offered you praises, you think you’re untouchable? You think no one can meddle with you."

I leaned back in my chair. My aura is cool and steady. I wasn't scared by Allan's empty threats at all and even if I was scared, I dare not show it.

“Untouvhable?. I am not someone you can scare easily. You should know that by now. You of all people?”

I scoffed and smiled, a mocking expression on my face.

“You can't scare me, Allan. Not even in your next life.”

Allan's nostrils flared. His face burned with anger. He pulled out his gun, training it at me.

“And what if you shoot you? What if I kill the almighty Elara here in this dead zone? No one would really care about you would they?”

I walked closer to him. I leaned in, my breath hot against his ear.
“You wouldn't dare. You don't have the gut. My men would hunt you and wipe y'all out of existence. You know that.” I threatened, my voice laced with venom.

“Are you alright, Boss? Do you feel compromised? Give us your permission.” Darius' concerned tone rang through the ear chip.

I tapped twice on the table, sighing deeply to calm my storm while signaling Darius to stay put.
“No, not yet,” I whispered under my breath, loud enough for the chip to catch.

“Alright, Boss. We will be on the look out.” Aria's voice sounded from the background.
Allan’s hand trembled slightly around the gun. He chewed inner cheeks. His eyes turned red. He had a look of shock on his face. He expects me to stay calm in a situation like this.

“Go ahead, Mr Allan. Go on. Pull the fucking trigger.,” I said, voice low and dangerous. “Pull it!! Pull the trigger. Let's see how far your audacity can get you.” I dared, leaning closer to Allan, making sure he captures my smirk. My mocking smirk.
He didn’t move. The gun remained pointed at me, his finger clutching tightly to the gun but he didn't dare to squeeze its trigger.
I stared at him before picking up my wine glass. I twirled it around my finger.
“What were you thinking? Huh? That if you brought me here, you could scare me into having a deal with you? You think I would be afraid of you empty threats. This is your first mistake, Allan. You are foolish to think triking me with sweet words would make me hear you out.”
I took a slow sip of my wine, letting the silence stretch between us like a noose.
“Your first mistake is pointing a gun at me.”
“Don't you dare try to talk me out of this Elera! I am going for this for my pack. I can't face Kordova alone.” he uttered with sheer desperation.
“You’re not as smart as you pretend to be, Allan,” I said softly, tapping the rim of my glass.

“You think that fear equals power. But real power doesn’t need to shout. Real power doesn't pull out a gun when words fail to control. Real power controls the room without needing to lift a finger. Real power controls the air in the room.”

His lips pressed into a thin line, hand shaking slightly.

I leaned back. “I’ll let this slide. The next time you try to threaten me again, Allan, I will make sure you’re ready to face the consequences. This meeting is over.” I picked up my purse, shot him a last glare before walking away. My head held high. My mind made up.
Allan lowered the gun slowly, breathing hard like he had just ran a marathon racein his head.

I didn’t bother to look back. I had no reason to. I knew I had won him. I knew I had done what was right. Threatened him and warned him to be wary of me. His silence said it all.

I walked out of that room with steady steps, each one echoing behind as I walked away. My heels clicked sharply on the tiled floor. I didn’t bother to rush. I wasn't scared. Power didn't rush. It did things on its accord.
I traced my way back through the tunnel. The female guards escorting me out.
Outside, the cool night air hit my skin. I inhaled deeply, letting it calm the heat in my chest.
“Throne, Cyric?.” I whispered into the chip, “we’re done here. You all should fall back. Keep your eyes on me as I exit. I don't trust Allan.”
I stepped into my car. I fastened my seatbelt and started the engine. My hands were steady on the wheel. I revved into the highway, driving out of Allan’s territory, my eyes focused on the dark road ahead. The evening sun was up, casting a warm glow around.

As I passed the hill near the west border, I looked through and caught sight of Throne’s headlights in the rearview mirror. Just behind him, Cyric’s black SUV rolled behind at snail speed.
Both of them had parked a mile away, just as we had planned waiting for my signal. Now, they followed behind me on alert. Looking out for any signs of danger.
“Boss, we’ve got eyes on you,” Throne’s voice crackled through the chip.

“Keep your distance,” I replied softly. “Don’t make it obvious that you are tailing me.”

“Yes, Boss.”
