Chapter 13 Thirteen
Elara’s POV
Silvester Hugo?
He wasn't someone I thought I would have to contented with. Silvester’s syndicate was just among the list of insignificant group I didn't care much about.
They were minor syndicate group. Groups that tore away from ours due to misunderstanding. They had their ego to tend to. They didn't want to take orders and decided to form their group.
Silvester was a part of my trusted team. He knew everything. He saw everything. Understood everything but now he decided to rebel because submission to him was like the death penalty.
Seeing how much of a wing he had grown to man up and challenge me, made my blood boil.
“How dare he? He has the guts.” Throne snapped, sneering through seethed teeth.
"How dare Silvester I'll his foolish trick on me? Deploying spies to monitor my every move?" I spat. My rage burning in my eyes.
“He thinks he can take you down? We'll crush his syndicate, and he'll come begging for your mercy." Throne vowed, his voice dripped with venom.
I looked at Throne. Our gaze locked. Throne's eyes gleamed with anticipation, ready to unleash hell.
“I always knew Silvester was up to something fishy. What does he think he is? Does he think he can outsmart you? Does he take you for a fool?”. Aria ragged, her fist clenched to her sides.
"Silvester's got nerve. I'll give him what he craves.," I sneered, my anger simmering.
"How dare he play with fire? He is definitely going to get burnt.” Aria gnarled.
Aria's words fueled my rage. I could understand her furiousness. Silvester wa as lonely wolf when he came her a year ago. We nurtured him. Sheltered him. Clothed him an now this….?
Betrayal?
“ We'll show him what it means to cross the line" I vowed, my voice cold and deadly.”
Silvester's reckoning is near," I growled, my anger boiling over. "He thinks he can spy on me, weaken me from within by manipulating my people?" My voice was a low, menacing whisper. "We'll crush his syndicate, and he will come crawl to me seeking foreignness and mercy.”
Throne nodded. A sinister grin spreading across his face.
"You gave him the grace to walk out of our syndicate alive and start his own. You didn't restrict his dreams of being a boss of his own. It's time to teach Silvester a lesson." Aria's eyes blazed with fury. "He's going down and his syndicate is going with him."
"Throne's eyes gleamed with anticipation, ready to unleash hell. He was ready to put to death anyone that threatened the peace, development and tranquility of our territory.
Aria's fists were clenched to her sides. Her face twisted in rage.
"He's a dead man walking." She buzzed.
I glared at Throne, my anger simmering. My face flushed with rage.
"Silvester's betrayal won't go unpunished." My voice was cold and very calculated.
"We'll make sure to dismantle his syndicate piece by piece."
Throne nodded, a fierce determination etched on his face
“We are so sorry for trespassing into you domain. We thought it was just some regular axis we could enter abs so out job.” A sob escaped the lips of the shortest spy.
“I have a family, ma'am. I have a daughter. She two and a half years old and my wife is pre…”
Aria hit her elbow on the mouth of the spy, silencing him while he lost a tooth to the impact of her force.
“Shut the hell up!! I don't care about your fucking life!!!.” She growled.
Aria's eyes blazed with fury. "He'll pay for his treachery. He must pay." We stood united, ready to take down Silvester and his syndicate.
I faced the spies who were now whimpering in fear. I could smell their fear. I could sense that their defiance slipping away.
“Finish them!.” I ordered, my voice a mix of command and control.
Throne nodded, stepping forward, his gun trained at the spies.
“Please…. please…. Please do not kill us. We could be of help you.…you.” the oldest looking spy uttered, suddenly trying to strick a deal with us.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips in a slept second, vanishing the same way it came.
“So now you think you are in a position to have a deal with me?
“No Boss. But we could be of help. We could help you take revenge on Silvester. But you'll have to spare us. We will help you.” The tallest promised, his voice laced with determination.
The tallest spy's smile faltered, is eyes darting nervously between me and Throne.
"P-please, Boss. Please you have to hear us out. We have all the information on Silvester's plans we know his weaknesses. We will help you bring him down from the inside." His voice trembled, but I can bet I saw a glimmer of desperation spark in his eyes.
"Spare our lives. Show us mercy and we'll tell you everything we know."
Throne's gaze locked onto mine, awaiting my response. I sighed, my gaze darting between the spies.
The spies held their breath, their fate hanging precariously in the balance. I raised an eyebrow, intrigued despite myself. "Go on," I ordered, my voice cold and calculating.
“.... Silvester is a cunny man. He has his men…” The oldest amongst them began narrating. His voice is shaky like he was afraid I wouldn't believe his words as the truth.
I listened attentively. Paying close attention to his words. He revealed that Silvester claims we have a misunderstanding that yet to be resolved.
I found this strange. Silvester had always been challenging but never have we been in a serious beef that would warrant him to desecrate my territory.
“Are you sure everything you told me here is the truth?”. I inquired, my voice cold and menacing.
“If I find out you all are lying to me. I'll give you a punishment worse than death.
The shortest one shivered, nodding vehemently.
“It's the truth. I swear on my unborn pub.”
