Chapter 124

WRITER

Bradley had just left Diana's room when he heard the familiar sound ring out. They had been attacked.

Fuck, he hadn't prepared for it so soon. His troops hadn't all arrived, maybe this would have to do and this time, he would direct the charge himself.

He headed straight to the war room, specially created for moments like this, and began to speak to his two Soldiers, the heads of the main units.

“Elias, you are going to attack with Jonathan, I want you to take a few men to the north gate" he pointed at the area on the map.

“Lay in wait, I know he's going to come out this side" He ordered.

“Okay, Alpha," Elias agreed, simply noting it in his head.

“Jonathan, I want you to take as many men as you can that doesn't equate to half my army, disperse them to both sides, southern and western," he said, pointing to the places on the map.

The east was protected; there was no entrance from there, so it didn't need protection.

“If anything goes wrong, send back the signal to me, and we'll be on our way," he said.

Jonathan nodded, he agreed but he had a question, “Alpha, what about the house"

Bradley smirked, “Well I've got the house. The whothat stay back and I will be enough. There should be no breach. All underground entrances should be locked, we don't know if we've got a spy within us"

He wasn't going to risk being suddenly jumped on. He would go in himself and secure it.

“How far has the attack reached?" He asked now.

Elias looked down at his phone, “Just a yard in Alpha, they're not getting far fast enough, our men said that Loras has been crashing out too much"

Bradley nodded. That was one way, the strategy of war nobody knew, especially for hot-headed Alphas, whenever you made them so frustrated that they made mistakes.

An idea popped into his head, “Send some of our men out the pack, past the borders, make sure they're not seen, he'll have some troops coming as back up, we need to get rid of them first" Bradley ordered.

He had just thought about it, this J who had said he would be on the winning side, who knew if he had already joined the battle and Loras was definitely not planning to lay siege on his pack with such few men. It had to be a trap, or trying to create an illusion of safety.

“Take them through the underground" he turned to the third commander, Jafar.

“Yes, Alpha, I'll do that immediately," he said, bowing.

“Eliminate as many men as you can, make sure their army is reduced largely, and when we win, bring him back alive." Bradley felt the fire in his veins. What he would do when Loras was there.

Loras stood at the back of the attack, and he could hardly see any progress being made. He had expected Jael to come to his rescue.

He had taken the troops he had and attacked; he hadn't even told his mother or sisters. He had wanted the element of surprise. After all, it wasn't shocking when somehow the Blackwoods had learnt of his plotting.

He got tired of watching the slow advancements, it was time to join in.

He walked through his pack, they were in the defence, and to the front.

From their scent, he located the blackwood soldiers easily. The first man he saw, he attacked with great force. He dug his claws through his chest, slicing through it before holding his neck tight and twisting it.

The body fell onto the ground with a thud.

He turned to the second blackwood attacking, and he caught him before he made any hit. Then his hands slammed into his ribcage, where his heart lay and he pushed it in with force.

After he had fought for a while and saw there wasn't much progress, he retreated to the back of the pack. He would need to make another plan.

“There's a northern entrance, we can attack from there," Loras told his beta.

They both agreed, and Loras told the pack soldiers who were fighting, calling them slowly back towards the northern gate.

They didn't waste any time, heading directly to the gate.

Suddenly they heard footsteps approaching them, Loras was ready for the fight, if the blackwoods had come from the back but it wasn't.

Out of the darkness, a tall, dominating, dark man walked out, behind him a small army.

He headed directly to Loras, “I am Jael Cross, I promised you my assistance” he smirked.

Loras froze, Jael Cross, the name was familiar. Where had he heard it? He remembered then, his father had gone to the funeral of this man just before he died.

"Aren't you supposed to be” he didn't finish his sentence.

"Dead?” Jael finished for him, his face lit with a devious smile. "I perform miracles, boy, let's head into battle,” he patted Loras on the back and gestured for him to move ahead.

Loras almost froze, but he couldn't; he was alpha, and he had to lead his people, so he continued moving.

The fact that he was walking with a dead man was shocking, and in his wildest dreams, he wouldn't have believed it.

Soon they were at the northern gate, which looked empty. Just as he had expected.

"Scale” he ordered the soldiers.

One by one, they began to climb over into the pack's lands.

Suddenly, a roar came out of nowhere, and on the other side of the gate, he heard the slashes, gunshots, and cries of his soldiers as they were slain.

"Break down the fucking gate" he screamed at the soldiers with him in urgency.

They all joined together and began to try to break it down. Slowly, the gate began to loosen, and not long after, with the collective effort, the gate swung open.

In front of them, stood Elias with the soldiers behind him.

Loras was shocked at the numbers; he hadn't expected this much. There was even more of a chance at the other gate than here.

These soldiers also looked far more armored and stronger than the ones on the other side.

Jael stood beside Loras as they both stared at the battalion.

“My troops aren't done coming and didn't your mom promise you armies? Don't falter now, we're still in the lead," Jael said with confidence.

Loras looked at Jael in surprise. he was telling the truth; his mom and sisters had made arrangements, and once they found out he had attacked, which he was sure they had, they would send the troops.

“Attack" he cried to the soldiers with him.

They all charged forward in a frenzy, shouts and cries, they would fight to the death, just as they had been prepared to.

Elias shouted to his own men on his end, "Fight to the death you, until every man has fallen”

His men cheered, the energy inside of them sizzled and burned.

Both armies crashed into each other, their bodies slamming into each other, claws tearing and knives swiping at each other's heads.

Elias tore through the men that attacked him as easily as a butcher's knife tore through chicken.

He decided he would make Bradley proud; he would kill the man who had orchestrated everything, so he headed to him.

Through the fight, as he tore them up, he kept track of Loras Whitemore. He was ready.

His hands snapped the neck of the wolf that had attacked from the left. He could see Loras now; he was just a few steps away.

Then he lunged, he was sure he had him but a body stopped him.

A tall, dark man stepped in front of Loras, his eyes glaring at Elias with amusement.

"Did you think you were so close?" He smirked at Elias, his voice so deep that Elias heard it clearly over the cries of the soldiers.

A cry stopped both men. Someone came running in from behind both men, and he fell at Loras' feet.

“Alpha, our men have been wiped out at the other gate, and sir," he turned to the tall man now, “The army you had sent behind you has been wiped out, their bodies lie on the ground behind." he delivered the news.

Loras was slammed with shock, they were losing.

Jael's face twisted with fury and anger, those were specially trained forces and somehow they had lost to Bradley Blackwood.

He turned to Elias, taking in his scent carefully.

“You are his beta." It was a statement.

Elias didn't falter, standing tall to him and ready to talk, "I am, now who are you?” He asked.

Jael smirked, a bitter smirk full of anger and hate. "I would have wanted you to deliver this news to Bradley yourself, you will but not quite how you expect it”

Elias sneered at him, his fangs extending out of his mouth.

His claws were out and he stood in defence, ready to fight to the death.

"Let's see shan't we?” He asked.

Jael shook his head. The boldness of this generation baffled him.

He growled and attacked. Elias saw it coming, and he dodged the first attack. He might not have had as much strength but he was a skilled fighter.

They fought like that until out of nowhere, Loras attacked Elias, slashing at his chest, which had been bloodied.

Elias growled in agony, the claws had dug deep into his skin. He fell on one knee, willing himself to heal as much as he could.

“I want you to die knowing that Bradley Blackwood will lose his pack and he'll be torn apart" Jael whispered to him, his claws on his neck, ready to tear out.

“Oh and just one more secret. Your parents were just collateral

general damage"

The image of his parents' bloodied bodies flashed through Elias's eyes just as Jael tore out his throat.

His body fell on the ground with a thump
