Chapter 54 Ashley

Chapter 54 Ashley
Elena’s POV

The hall was filled with pack members eating, it was usually nice to see all of them but I just felt uncomfortable.

I was reacting to every sound that was made and I could hear everything.

Was it because of the dream?

I shook my head and went to Liam to sit.

“Luna,” Scott said as he greeted me.

“Scott.” Ever since Liam had officially made me Luna of the pack, Scott has been a lot more formal and I didn’t know if I liked that.

“Hey, where’s Clara?” I said as I sat down, noticing that Clara wasn’t with us.

“She’s on duty,” Scott said.

Liam had still not told what had happened when they rescued Sarah, but it seemed to have him on the edge.

When we were done, I headed to the training rounds. I was getting better and my moves had improved.

“Do you wanna spar with me, Josh?” I asked as I saw him walking by.

“Oh no Luna?” he said quickly as he walked past me.

He was too quiet, I wondered if he had friends apart from Liam.

Since Clara wasn’t here, I made use of the punching bag.

My head finally cleared out but I still felt that anger and it was like my hearing had increased. Everything still felt too loud but at least I was better now.

I was about to head to the orphanage to visit Jane and Grace when Clara walked up to me.

“Finally, they let you off,” I said as I smiled and walked to her.

She scoffed. “No, not exactly, I’m here because someone came to the pack to see you,” she said.

I had a feeling I knew who it was, but I still asked her. “Who?”

“Your sister.”

“Did she say why she was here?” I asked.

“No, she said she just wanted to see you.”

I really wanted to forget all of Silver lake and everyone there but it all just keeps coming back.

I sighed. “Let’s go then.”

“Are you sure?” Clara asked looking concerned.

I nodded as Clara took me to where she was.

I took a long look at her as we got closer, she really looked different now, thinner than the last time I saw her.

Was it because of me? I felt horrible if it was because of me.

Ashley saw us coming and she gave me a weak smile.

But I didn’t smile back.

“Hey,” she said but I didn’t say anything back.

“How have you been?” she asked but I still gave her the silent treatment.

She didn’t say anything and I didn’t either.

After a while, I spoke. “Clara, it will okay, I want to talk to Ashley alone,”

Clara nodded and left.

“Why do you keep coming back here?” I snapped immediately.

“Because I’m sorry Elena,” she muttered.

“But you weren’t sorry when I was flogged and dragged because of your lie,” I said, trying to hold my anger back.

“I know, and I know what I did to you was horrible but please you have to believe me Elena, I’m really sorry.”

I said nothing.

“Please just one more chance, please, I don’t have anyone else,” she cried as she fell to the ground.

“What about your parents?” I said.

“Mom and Dad are acting like dead people after what they heard Alpha Derrick did.”

Of course they were, they were always acting like slaves for Alpha Derrick and doing everything he wanted even if it was to throw out their adopted daughter.

I looked down at Ashley. She had betrayed me more than anybody else and it still hurt but she was my sister.

My eyes burned. “You hurt me, Ashley.”

“I know El and I will always be sorry for what I did. But please just let me make it up to you.”

I nodded feeling like if I said anything else I would start crying.

She smiled then she got up and hugged me.

I hugged her back and I felt a little better.

“So I was thinking that we can go to the mall and talk and then get some drinks or coffee, just like old times,” she said as she gave me a nervous smile.

I wanted to say yes but I knew Liam would never let me go out on my own and especially not with my sister.

I was about to say no when I thought of something.

“Okay, but it will be somewhere close by in town, not too far from the pack,” I said.

“Oh okay, but I don’t really know much about this place.”

“It’s okay,” I said.

After a while, we got ready to go. I had asked two guards to follow us because I knew Liam would be mad at me if I left without protection.

We drove to town but we didn’t talk much and I was happy that Ashley wasn’t trying to force me to.

“So where do we go first,” Ashley asked as she looked around. She had the same look I had when I first came here.

“First let’s get some coffee,” I said as I walked to where I saw the store.

“Wait outside, we will be back,” I said to the guards as Ashely and I went upstairs.

I remember when Clara, Sarah and I came here I thought it was so cool how the coffee shop was made.

They had taken our orders and we were about to leave when Ashley started acting weird.

“What’s wrong?”

“Well, it’s just that I need to use the bathroom,” she said as she went downstairs to the restroom.

I paid for the coffee and was waiting for Ashley.

I was worried when it was ten minutes later and she wasn’t back yet.

I left my seat and went downstairs to look for her.

It was quiet. That’s weird I thought.

Stop Elena. I heard my wolf say. She hadn’t spoken to me for days now so I was shocked but I stopped.

Why? I asked.

Because someone is watching us.
