Chapter 18: EIGHTEEN

...

Just before I could open my eyes, his body was on me and his arms pinned mine to the bed. I opened my eyes and struggled to wriggle free from Derek's hold. His lips came on mine and I forced my mouth shut, shaking my head violently, but his force was too powerful for me. His lips kept moving on mine as he raised my hands above my head and pinned them both with one arm while the other began roaming my body.

My scream and yell all fell into his mouth like forced moans, his body trapping mine from moving. I moved my eyes to the dial but I couldn't reach it. Under him, I was helpless.

His hand reached underneath my dress and began going into my underwear. Amy struggled with me, and with a few more trials, she unleashed, tearing Derek off me. As soon as he released me a little, I quickly crawled away from him and slapped him hard across the face, reflexively. He didn't touch the spot but he paused for a minute out of petrification.

When he regained himself, I moved to the edge of the bed quickly, struggling to regain my breath.

Derek didn't charge at me, instead, he threw several punches in the air, grumbling heavily in anger. His eyes rested on me, his breathing pouring from his mouth.

"I just fucking want you goddammit!" He groaned. "You're mine, Ellen. No one has the right to have you but me!"

"I'm not yours."

"You're making me crazy, do you know that? I'm fucking losing my mind because of how much I want you. I can't control it, I can't fucking help it. You're all I think about and I can't even focus! It's killing me!"

He kept growling but I remained mute, watching him.

"Please don't leave me, Ellen. Don't go with him. You're mine, I'm the only one who can make you happy. I can't survive without you, Ellen. I cannot allow him to take you away from me..."

I wasn't sure if it was the mate bond acting up and I couldn't figure out what Derek was up to. Hearing him talk about how much he needed me left me flabbergasted.

Derek never said these words to me. The only thing he felt towards me was contempt, he only used me to his satisfaction and never cared about my feelings.

And wanting to make me happy? How was I supposed to believe that when he was my full-time oppressor? The murderer of my best friend? His possessiveness befuddled me.

"I don't want you, Derek. I'm just an Omega, worthless and cursed. You can't be with a wolf like me, I'm too weak for you. That's why you rejected me anyway."

"No, you're not," he took a gentle step towards me, "you're not weak, Ellen."

"What are you talking about?" I asked suspiciously.

"Yesterday, my warriors saw you heal a wolf in the jungle. And today, your burns are completely gone. I heard it was severe, but now.." he tilted my face to view my neck, "it's all gone. Every scar on your body is not there anymore. You have the powers of the moon goddess, Ellen. You are the legendary healer, you are a direct descendant of the moon goddess."

At this stage, I realized what Derek was up to. What game he was playing, and why he had been so calm with me all day? He knew of my new identity and now wanted me all to himself. He didn't want me to leave the pack because he wanted my powers for his own selfishness.

He never treated me fairly but he wanted me to be considerate with him?

"What do you want Derek?" I asked. "Why exactly are you doing this?"

"I want you. Let's start all over, Ellen," he took my palm in his, staring into my eyes with a glint of concern that I knew was faux, "reject Ace as your mate and become mine. I want to make you my Luna."

I tore my hands off his as soon as the words left his mouth, "No. I accepted your rejection already and I have no intention of refuting it. Please leave."

"You don't mean that, right? I'm Derek, your Alpha. You're going to pick that jerk over me? Do you think he cares about you as I do? Do you think his motives towards you are sincere? Do you even know the kind of wolf that he is--

"I know he's not someone like you and that is better than anything!"

"What?"

"As long as he is not you, Derek, I'll pick him a thousand times. I don't care if he's an Alpha or not. I might not know him so well, but the fact that he is not like you keeps me very much at ease."

The faux soft look in Derek's eyes immediately gave way to a deep frown, one that brought wrinkles to his brows.

"You will not be mated with him. I will make sure that mateship doesn't happen. Not when I'm alive. You are mine and mine alone!"

"I am not yours!" I said, returning his fiery stare, "Not anymore. I am Ace's and he loves me."

"Ace loves no one but himself," Derek scoffed, "you really don't know shit about the wolf you call your mate. Ace never takes anything that doesn't benefit him, all he thinks about is himself! Once he realizes that you have nothing to offer, he'll discard you like the bag of trash you are and you will come crawling back to me."

"That's not true. He cares about me," I said, forcing myself to believe my words without a single doubt.

"No, he doesn't. If he truly wanted you, he would have marked you the moment he found you, but he didn't. And that's because he doesn't give a damn about you!"

"Yes, he does!" I yelled, "Now leave before I call the warriors on you," I threatened, holding my finger over the dial.

Derek stared from my face to my hand on the dial and smirked even more.

"We'll see who laughs last, Ellen. And I will make sure that person is me. As long as you are in my territory, you remain my subject and I will make sure that never changes for the rest of your fucking life!"

He threatened, blew me a mockery kiss, and stormed out of the room.
