Chapter 11: ELEVEN
Lost in my world of fantasy, I didn't notice my father storming towards us until Alpha Ace stopped walking. I noticed him in front of us, his gaze flashing past me without an iota of care for my burns.
"Alpha Ace, I heard what happened. I'm sorry for whatever trouble she must have caused you, I will ensure she is punished to whatever length you might desire." He apologized, his eyes blazing with fury.
"Allow me to take her from here."
"Step away," Alpha Ace thundered.
"W-what?" My father stuttered. Ace said nothing, so he continued and lowered his hands, "My daughter is irresponsible, I'll understand if you choose to punish her yourself. Please, do whatever you want with her."
"Your daughter?" He glanced at me, as though seeking confirmation.
I nodded once, "he's my father."
"I see," he eyed him briefly, "the wolf who did this to you, do you know who she is?"
I gulped before speaking. "Yes."
"What's her name?"
"Mira. Mira Tate. She is Alpha Derek's Luna."
He turned to my father, "Find her."
"What?" My father was stunned.
"Find me Mira Tate and bring her to me!"
"M.. may I ask why Alpha?" My father questioned. It was the first time I had heard him stutter so many times.
"She hurt my mate." He revealed coldly and with an air of finality. I gulped heavily.
His mate. Me?
Still confused, my father curtsied in a low bow and stepped away, clearing the path for us. I tried to tell Ace that I wanted to get down, that I could walk just fine on my own but I couldn't find my voice anymore. It was as though I hadn't just talked with him a second ago.
As soon as he had stepped out of the hotel and walked a few steps towards his ride, Damien- the one who was taking over my father's position as Beta and Derek's best friend, rushed up to us. Ace cussed under his breath at the interruption but didn't stop walking.
"Alpha Ace, are you leaving?"
"Is it not obvious?"
"Did something happen?" He asked, glaring at me.
"What do you want?"
Damien gulped before speaking, "The ceremony is almost over, and everyone is waiting for you to give the closing speech and an official congratulatory message to the new Alpha. Also, Alpha Derek looks forward to a private meeting with you. He sent his pleas and hope you honor it."
"Crescent Hospital, tell your Alpha to meet me there in an hour. It's an order."
Ace put me into the car and hopped in afterward, yelling at the chauffeur to take off.
The ride was silent but my throat was clogged with worry, and my head was sweaty from perspiration. Ace was seated beside me, his arms wrapped around me but his eyes darkened with something I couldn't explain.
I pursed my lips, shutting my eyes in his embrace as the ride heightened. soon, the car stopped, and health workers filed out. Even though I could walk perfectly well, Ace pulled me into his arms again and dashed into the hospital. He kicked open a ward door and laid me gently on the bed, stepping aside for the doctor to do their work, while he stood across the room, his eyes never leaving me.
The doctors immediately set to work, but before they could touch me, I touched the area mildly to ease the burn, and I instantly felt a refreshing sensation. It was similar to the one I felt when the dying wolf in the woods was getting healed. Slowly, I felt the burning tingles starting to disappear until I no longer felt pain.
The doctors moved away from me in shock, my jaw dropped as I stared at my body and saw the skin peels coming back to normal.
My brows furrowed. Now, I doubted this was the moon goddess's handwork as Amy predicted. It was me. I was healing myself and I had healed that dying wolf last night.
I couldn't believe it. I was just an Omega, how could I have the ability to heal so extraordinarily, talk more of having a power that only the moon goddess possesses?
Shakily, my arms reached and I touched my flesh, the exact spot that had been ripped open in burns. It was now perfectly closed, even clearer than my former scarred skin. I stared at my hands, my jaw still dropped in disbelief.
If I possessed this power then I was the legendary healer of the moon goddess. And if I was the healer, I had a prolific kind of strength. A kind of power that could blossom one's life into greatness and tear you out of whatever miseries you might have originated from.
If I possessed this power, I would be a free wolf.
I was still lost in thoughts when I felt my hands being encircled by larger ones; I looked up to find Alpha Ace staring down at me with squinted brows.
"T-this was bleeding just now.." he stuttered in disbelief, running his finger around the area.
"How did it heal up so fast?"
"I- I don't know," I replied in a stutter, returning his gaze as our eyes locked.
He opened my palm and stared into it, as though trying to read my mind like a psychic.
"You're her." His eyes brightened up with an emotion that I couldn't describe. "It's you," he rang out, a hefty smile building across his lips.
"W-what are you talking about?" I asked, trying to pull away, but he held me close.
His hand found my face and he gently stroked my cheek, wiping the tears in my eyes that I was clueless of.
"You're the healer and my mate." Saying that fondly, he pulled me into his arms, hugging me so tenderly like I was his most fragile yet precious possession.
It was my first time feeling that way, and even though it felt weird and I still had a lot of questions lingering in my mind, I enjoyed his warmth, the mate bond fully kicking in.
