Chapter 192: Full Circle
Chapter 192: Full Circle
Sierra's POV
The letter came on a Tuesday morning.
I read it once then again. The words didn't seem real. "They want me to lead the Luna Council. They're offering me the head position."
Adrian's grip tightened. "That's... Sierra that's incredible." I looked up at him. My eyes were wet. "I'm twenty-eight years old. I'll be the youngest Luna Council head in history."
The ceremony was held in the Grand Hall. Every Luna from the surrounding packs attended. I wore a simple white dress.
Elder Maya placed the Council medallion around my neck. It was heavy. Gold with silver wolves etched into the surface.
"Luna Sierra Hale. You are now head of the Luna Council. Your voice will shape policy across all packs. Your decisions will protect the vulnerable, your reforms will create lasting change."
The room erupted in applause. But all I could think about was the responsibility. Every decision I made would affect thousands of wolves, women and children.
The first year was hard. I traveled between packs, met with Lunas, listened to their concerns and implemented new protection laws.
By year three, I could see the difference. Women walked taller, spoke louder and demanded
respect.
Now it was year five. Five years since my memories returned.
I stood in the nursery watching my children sleep. Esme was five now. Her dark hair spread across her pillow. She looked like me but had Adrian's strength. Ethan slept with his arm thrown over his head. Five years old and already protective of his sister. Alexander was in his own room now. Growing so fast it hurt.
Three healthy children, a thriving pack, a strong marriage. This was the life I'd dreamed of. The life I'd fought for and it was real and mine.
Adrian wrapped his arms around me from behind. "Thinking about the past?" I shook my head. "No. The future. What comes next." He kissed my neck. "Whatever comes next, we'll face it together." I leaned back against him. "Five years Adrian. Five years since everything changed." He turned me to face him. "Best five years of my life."
The next morning, Maria called me to the front door. "Luna. You have a visitor." I wasn't expecting anyone. I walked to the foyer and stopped cold.
Evelyn stood on the porch. Her blonde hair was longer now. She looked healthy, strong. Her eyes were clear. No pain in them or anger. Just peace.
"Sierra." she said. Her voice was soft. "I hope this is okay. I should have called but I wanted to see you."
The last time I'd seen her, she'd been broken and now here she was whole.
I stepped aside. "Come in." She walked past me. Her movements were careful like she was afraid of taking up too much space. We sat in the living room. Maria brought tea then left us alone.
"You look good." I said. She looked better than I'd ever seen her.
Evelyn smiled.
"I feel good. It took time. A lot of therapy and a lot of healing but I'm okay now.."
I set down my cup. "I'm glad. I've thought about you and wondered how you were."
She looked at her hands. "I came because I owed you an apology for everything. For the pain I caused, for the role I played in..."
I cut her off. "You don't owe me anything. Marcus used you just like he used everyone."
She shook her head. "No. I let myself be used. I made choices. Bad ones and I'm sorry for that. Truly sorry."
Alexander ran into the room chasing a ball. He stopped when he saw Evelyn.
"Mama who's that?" I smiled. "This is Miss Evelyn. An old friend." He stared at her for a moment then ran back out. His laughter echoed through the house.
Evelyn's eyes filled with tears. "That’s Alexander?"
I nodded. "I have two more. Twins. Ethan and Esme." She wiped her eyes. "You have the family you always wanted." Her voice broke. "I'm so happy for you, Sierra. So genuinely happy."
We talked for hours. She told me about her life now. How she’s given birth to a girl and is living fine back in the Southern Pack"
When it was time for her to leave, we stood on the porch.
"Thank you." she said. "For forgiving me and giving me closure." I took her hand. "We both needed closure. Now we have it."
She hugged me full of warmth and healing.
"You're an amazing Luna Sierra. The pack is lucky to have you." I watched her walk to her car. Drive away and felt something lift from my chest. The last piece of the past finally gone.
That night at dinner, Adrian asked about Evelyn's visit. "How was it?" I cut Esme's chicken into small pieces. "It was good. Really good. She's healed, happy and now so am I."
He reached across the table, took my hand. "No more ghosts?" I shook my head. "No more ghosts."
Alexander looked up from his plate. "Dada what's a ghost?" Adrian laughed. "Just old memories buddy. Things from the past." Alexander thought about this. "But the past is over right?" I smiled. "Yes baby. The past is over."
After the kids were in bed, Adrian and I sat on the porch. The stars were out, bright and clear. "Five years." I said. "Five years and look where we are."
He pulled me close. "Where do you want to be in five more?" I thought about it, about the Council, my children and the pack. "Right here. Exactly here but better, stronger and more."
He kissed my forehead. "Then that's where we'll be." I closed my eyes. Breathed in the night air, felt the peace settle over me like a blanket. This was my life now. My reality, my future.
And it was beautiful.
Esme cried out from inside. A nightmare. I started to get up but Adrian stopped me. "I'll go." He kissed me once more then went inside. I heard his footsteps on the stairs. His soft voice calmed her. "Daddy's here. You're safe."
Safe. That word meant everything. I'd fought to make us safe, to make the pack safe. And I'd done it. Not perfectly, not without scars. But I'd done it.
The future stretched out before me. Full of possibility, hope and love.
And I was ready for it.
