Chapter 26

After being satisfied playing and watching the sunset, now Ace invites Theresia to go home. He won't let Theresia get cold if she's on the beach at night, but it's different from Theresia who doesn't want to go home yet.

"Theresia, let's go home. Look, the sky is getting darker," said Ace gently.

Theresia who was originally crouched playing in the sand, now looks up at the sky. Sure enough, the sky had turned dark. But he still wants to play and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of the beach. "But, I still want to play here," said Theresia pouting her lips, like a child who was sulking.

Ace wanted to be angry, but how could he be angry with the adorable woman in front of him? Ace's hand reached out to ruffle Theresia's hair affectionately, then said, "I'll take you here another time, I promise."

Theresia's eyes lit up hearing that, that place will be her favorite place after the lake in Draciana. Theresia really likes to see water, it feels like her soul is calm when she sees puddles. Theresia rose from her place. "Do you promise?" he asked holding out his tiny little finger.

Ace quickly linked his finger to Theresia's. "Yes, I promise, honey," he answered with a big smile.

Theresia looked away suddenly, then walked away just past Ace. "Let's go home! Do you want to stay there?" he shouted after they were far enough apart.

Ace could only shake his head in response to Theresia's behavior, he jogged after Theresia. "Why is he so adorable, gosh," he muttered with a light laugh.

The two of them walked together towards the car, occasionally joking and laughing together. But everything had to stop when Ace's cell phone rang. The owner of the cellphone immediately checked it.

"Theresia, I'll pick up the cellphone for a moment," said Ace asking for permission. After getting approval from Theresia, Ace immediately picked up a call from Gerry who is a beta pack.

"Hello, what's wrong?" asked Ace with a straight face.

"What! How did that happen, Gerry? Didn't I ask you to take care of the pack while I wasn't there? You incompetent!" Ace looked very angry at that time, his face suddenly turned red with anger. His neck muscles seemed to want to come out, his hands clenched into perfect fists. After being satisfied nagging Gerry, Ace ended the call unilaterally.

"What's wrong, Ace?" Theresia asked because she saw Ace who seemed very angry.

Ace chuckled, then gave the car keys to Theresia. While Theresia frowned, not understanding what Ace meant. What are the car keys for?

"Why did you give me these keys?" asked Theresia confused.

"You go home first, take this car. I have to go, I have business that I can't leave," said Ace still in a deep voice, because his anger had not subsided.

"Where are you going? Is that important of your business that you tell me to go home alone? I..." Theresia struggled, she didn't want to go home alone without Ace.

"Can't you just shut up!" Ace snapped at Theresia unconsciously. Realizing this, he ruffled his hair in frustration, then said again, "I'm sorry, Theresia. Go home first, I have to go." After saying that, Ace darted away from there leaving Theresia alone in the dark night.

Theresia froze in place, tears welling up in her eyes. Theresia didn't think that Ace could yell at her, even though she had just put her trust in the man and now look how he behaves? Even Theresia was speechless, she had only been close to a man in her entire life. But why did Ace act like that to Theresia? What's wrong?

Theresia looked at the car keys in her hands, not long after she threw the keys in any direction. "I don't need this key! You damn man!" she shouted in annoyance, she wiped her tears that had started to fall. She didn't want to look weak, just because of a man.

Theresia stomped on the car keys, channeling her annoyance. Then walked away from there, he really didn't need the car keys. How could Ace give the car keys to Theresia who can't drive a car? Really, Theresia was furious and annoyed.

"Huh, I have to go home alone now. Why would she take me to the beach if she doesn't want to take me home! Why do I trust that guy so easily!" Theresia grumbled all the way, "argh... I'm so stupid."

Theresia decided to go home soon, she walked down the quite dark street. There weren't many vehicles passing by, it made Theresia feel scared. Moreover, the road passes through a deserted forest area. He was cursing and nagging all the way, he was in a very bad mood. How could he not, he just felt happy. Now that happiness was instantly lost when Ace snapped at her, It felt like Theresia wanted to cry. But she didn't want to look weak.

"Which way should I go now? Right or left?" Theresia muttered in deep thought as she faced two different paths, she didn't remember the way home at all. Because it was the first time he had gone to the beach, because Theresia had only been there for a few months.

"Gosh, I forgot my way home! Should I use my magic power?" Theresia took a deep breath, there was no other choice but to create a portal to return home. Otherwise, she will be lost even more.

A sound from behind the bushes made Theresia suddenly open her eyes, she turned towards the source of the sound. His heart beat instantly accelerated, how could it not? She felt an air of unfamiliarity as well as a negative aura.

"Anyone following me? I have to get out of here now," Theresia muttered closing her eyes for a moment, then she ran away from the place. Creating a teleportation portal took a while, and Theresia couldn't stay there too long because she felt someone was following her. Thus she decided to go find a safe place, to create a teleportation portal.

Sure enough, Theresia looked back. Two people in black robes were chasing after him. Theresia's eyes widened perfectly, when she recognized one of the black-robed men. He kept running away from the both of them.

"Hope he can't catch up to me," said Theresia after successfully getting away from them, she crouched behind a big tree while trying to catch her breath.

"Are they still chasing me?" Theresia turned around, peering from the big tree. She breathed a sigh of relief when she didn't see the two black robed men, does that mean they're gone?

"Thank God, they're gone. I..." Theresia's words trailed off, "mmph, let me go!"

Theresia thought she was safe, but she was wrong, the two men were behind her. They covered Theresia's mouth, then took her away from there.
