Chapter 266 146| Oh, Sister.
DAISY
Mom, Lila, and I teleported the rest to the academy’s woods and we soon started the search for Zara. I allowed my magic to sense the presence of another’s magic within the woods. But it kept leading me to Mom and Lila, who were also trying to use their magic to search for Zara.
“I think we have to allow only one person to use their magic,” Lila sighed frustratedly.
“I want to do it,” I quickly blurted.
“Daisy, it’s—” my mom started, but I interjected.
“Mom, I trust myself. Please allow me to prove myself to you.”
“I don’t doubt your magic. It’s just that...” she trailed off and sighed. “Okay. Go on then.”
A wide smile spread on my lips. “Thank you.”
Turning away from them, I pushed my hands forward and started reciting spells that would lead me to the powerful use of magic within the woods. The magic started to pull me towards a path, and I followed it, with the others following right behind me, on alert, ready to fight whatever threat came our way.
After a while, I finally arrived at the spot where I felt the strongest pull. But nothing was visible. I was so sure that this was the place.
“They are here,” Lila said. “I can feel her. I can feel them.”
“Let’s join hands. I know a spell we can use to reveal them,” Mother said, stretching out her hands.
Lila and I joined her, and she started chanting the spell. Lila and I quickly picked up, reciting it with her. Our voices grew louder and louder until a gust of wind erupted between us, pulling us apart until we landed on the floor.
I lifted my head to see that the people within the magic borders were now visible. There were a lot of girls lying there, unconscious, with Zara standing in the middle, an evil smirk on her face as she stared at us.
“You were able to find this place despite it being cloaked. And even managed to make us visible. I am impressed,” she said with an amused smile. “But, as you may see, you are a little bit late. The process has already begun.”
“Last I checked, not this many girls were missing. Where did you get all these girls from?” the Alpha King growled.
“Oh,” she gasped exaggeratedly, placing her palm over her lips, “you weren’t informed? A lot of girls have gone missing from the academy. It was quite easy actually, because they all trusted me to follow me here since I am a familiar face.”
Alpha King Maximus bared his canines, claws sprouting out as he tried to pounce on Zara, only to collide with an invisible barrier that sent him flying backwards.
“I will fucking kill you!” the Alpha King growled as he got back on his feet.
“And yet you cannot reach me!” she smirked.
“He can’t. But I can,” Lila groaned as she lifted her hand and cast a spell to break the barrier, but it didn’t work and only left her feeling frustrated.
“Sister, oh, sister,” Zara shook her head and clicked her tongue, “so many things we could have achieved together, but you chose to turn me into your enemy instead.”
“First off, I am not your sister. And secondly, go fuck yourself, Nina!” Lila growled with so much rage as she tried once again to break the barrier, and failed miserably.
“Release those girls now. And I might make your death an easy one!” Alpha Maximus growled.
“Bold of you to assume you have the power to kill me.” A hard frown formed on her face. “You should be saying your last prayers, Alpha. Because once I am done with this spell, once I have acquired the power the Olga gives, I will come for you. I will destroy you slowly and kill you before your son. Just like you made me watch my father get killed.”
“I’ll have your head hung on a spike before you can even attempt to do that!” he growled in response.
“Nina. Do not do this!” Lila yelled. “I know you want power. I know you want to avenge our father’s death, and—”
“I thought you said we weren’t sisters? How do we now suddenly have the same father?” Zara interjected.
Ignoring what she said, Lila continued anyway. “Trust me, I also coveted the power the Olga could give. But I did thorough research and realized the Olga could kill you. You may think you can control it, but it could erase you from your own body and push you to the deepest part of your mind. Nina, it could not only destroy you, it could destroy the world.”
“Then let the world be destroyed!” Zara retorted. “Don’t waste your spit. You cannot talk me out of it. The deed has already been done.” She spread her arms wide. “Soon, I’ll become the most powerful creature on earth.”
“Not on my watch!” I screamed.
“Especially on your watch, my darling.” She crouched down and picked up a dagger from the floor.
An evil smirk played on her lips as she played with the dagger in her hand.
“Damn. She has already completed the process. All she has to do is kill herself to be reborn!” Lila screamed, fear evident in her voice.
What? We had to stop her from taking her life.
Rage blasted through me as I stretched my arms forward and screamed out spells, hoping it would work. And it did. The barrier broke down.
“The barrier is broken!” I screamed, and the Alpha King didn’t even waste a second before jumping in and trying to stop her from slitting her throat with the dagger.
But before he could reach her, she had already slit a part of her throat and then teleported before she could die.
“No!” Axel roared so loudly the trees around us shook.
