Chapter 75: SHE'S BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY
**Third POV**
Wyatt's attention was completely captured by the woman in front of him. He surveyed her carefully. She bore a striking resemblance to Harper, only slightly older. Anyone who had seen these two women could easily deduce their relationship.
Her deep green eyes were a shade darker than Harper's, exuding elegance and nobility. The hushed whispers behind him grew louder. If the guests weren't as shocked as he was, they were even more astonished.
"The pleasure is all mine, Sofia," Wyatt extended his right hand to Sofia, completing the friendly handshake. He invited her to sit down and the murmur in the room grew louder.
No one could ignore an immensely powerful witch, least of all the werewolves.
When a maid approached Sofia with a cup of tea, she stumbled and almost spilled the hot tea all over Sofia's shoulder. But Sofia simply waved her hand and the cup floated back to her, defying gravity.
"I'm so sorry, Lady Sofia," the maid said nervously.
"It's all right, darling." Sofia's warm smile soothed the young girl. She bowed her head in thanks and quickly left the room.
The seated werewolf officials stared at Sofia in silence and the whispered conversations had stopped. Sofia's composed demeanor showed her confidence in her own abilities. The fact that she was able to use magic without relying on spells or wands also demonstrated the strength of her magical power.
Sofia broke the uneasy silence, "I suppose my arrival hasn't exactly been welcomed. Granted, there have been some unfortunate moments in the history between our two races."
"Therefore," Sofia took a small box from her pocket. "I bring an offering of goodwill."
Sofia opened the box to reveal an oval-shaped gem with a moonlit white glow. Its delicate workmanship made it look convincingly powerful.
She placed the box in the middle of the long table. "This is a witch's artifact, the Eye of the Moon. It has the ability to heal wounds and age. Aldricus will know how to use it."
There was a hint of disbelief in Aldricus' expression. "Sofia, this gift is too precious; I believe it may not be appropriate."
Sofia's demeanor remained relaxed. "Please take it as our apology. It can serve the wounded population of the war." Her gaze shifted to Wyatt. "But we also have conditions in return."
Wyatt's facial muscles tightened slightly. "I'm willing to hear them."
"I hope that witches can obtain legal identity within the Werewolf Kingdom. Of course, we would also extend equal rights to werewolves in witch territory. If a witch commits a crime within the Werewolf Nation, she can be punished according to the law. But I won't tolerate any unjust persecution of witches.“
Sofia's tone grew cold. "I am referring to the events of twenty years ago, the actions of your father and his subordinates."
The air became suffocatingly quiet. It was only broken by the creaking of Wyatt's chair. "Sofia, we are indeed considering this matter. However, as you've mentioned, witches becoming legal residents of the Werewolf Kingdom could be a challenge.
There are still misconceptions between werewolves and witches, and it will take time to change public perception."
Sofia replied sternly, "If you cannot guarantee the safety of witches within your jurisdiction, I will demand the evacuation of all witches, including my daughter."
Wyatt remained calm, his tone measured. "I believe this concerns the personal will of the witches. Sofia, I don't mean to challenge you. Please trust that I'm working to protect everyone on this land."
Sofia let out a soft snort, "And what's your plan?"
"I'm going to expose the government's actions. So that the mistakes made twenty years ago will finally have their rightful consequences." Wyatt's temples pulsed.
Sofia didn't answer immediately, her expression softening slightly, "Will your father agree to this plan? You're betraying him, aren't you?"
There was a hint of mockery in Sofia's tone, "Ladies and gentlemen present, aren't you afraid that such an arrangement will loosen the people's trust in you?"
No one answered directly, but the uneasy expressions on the officials' faces said it all.
Wyatt's lips formed a thin line under the pressure, "We all know this won't be an easy task. I will be adequately prepared."
Sofia nodded slightly, "Alright, I can accept your words, as they were convincing. But I have a request."
Wyatt nodded and signaled for her to continue.
"Alexander and Simon's Alpha status should be terminated. I mean, they should no longer be allowed to participate in any decisions of the Werewolf Government, along with all the officials who were involved in the Witch Hunt back then.
I can trust you, but I can't trust them anymore."
”You can be sure of that. I never harbor criminals, no matter who they are.“ Wyatt frowned and turned to his side, " Russell, how long do you think it will take the Ministry of Justice to recover? We need to make a list of the people involved in this series of events.”
Russell, an older werewolf, said in a low voice, "Your Majesty, Simon's subordinates have already been arrested and we'll resume the trials as soon as possible.
Sofia nodded and stood up, "I've finished what I wanted to say. I hope you'll do as we discussed." She looked meaningfully at Wyatt and then left the room.
Wyatt turned to his ministers, "I need to hear from each of you about your thoughts."

By the end of the meeting, almost all the werewolf leaders and officials had reached a consensus. Peace is precious. They must protect this precious thing.
After the meeting was adjourned, Wyatt walked alone towards the garden. He knew Sofia hadn't left. He could feel it. But considering Sofia's abilities, he took it as a signal.
Sure enough, Sofia was standing in the center of the garden, seemingly waiting for a while. Wyatt approached her, trying to be polite and smile.
Sofia ignored these gestures, her mind was on one thing.
"How is she?" Sofia's urgency was hidden beneath the surface calm she maintained.
"Harper is fine. She's working at the hospital." Speaking of Harper, Wyatt's expression softened and relaxed, "She loves medicine. She's a natural nurse."
Sofia's eyes glistened with tears, "Did she mention me?"
Looking at Sofia, Wyatt said firmly, "She wants to see you, Sofia. She needs you."
Sofia began to shed quiet tears.
Wyatt added gently, "Actually, Harper is in the medical station at the palace right now. You can see her when you're ready.
I'm sure she'll be thrilled; she's been waiting for this day for 18 years."
