Chapter 1108: I'm His Fiancée
"Let's eat. Aunt Emma will take you to school soon."
Victor didn't give Sophia a chance to ask more questions and quickly diverted his gaze from her.
Although Sophia was filled with confusion, she noticed her dad's sour expression and didn't dare to press further. She obediently sat down and began to eat her breakfast.
After finishing breakfast, Emma planned to take Sophia to school.
Watching their backs, Victor furrowed his brows and suddenly called out, "Wait a moment!"
At his words, Emma halted abruptly, her heart tightening.
Could it be that Victor changed his mind?
Though she thought this internally, Emma maintained a smiling facade. "Victor, is there anything else?"
Sophia looked up at her dad with bright eyes, thinking that maybe he had changed his mind and would let her skip school.
Meeting their gazes, Victor hesitated for a moment. After a few seconds, as if he had made a decision, his brow began to relax.
"Sophia, don't resist your teacher or new classmates like last time. Daddy will check in with your new teacher regularly to know how you're doing in school."
The little one puffed up her cheeks reluctantly. "Got it."
Emma let out a sigh of relief internally, her smile becoming more genuine.
"I'll go talk to the teachers. Is there anything else? If not, I'll take Sophia to school now. She's going to be late."
Victor nodded noncommittally.
Emma smiled and turned to lead the little one away.
Once in the car, Sophia sat in the back seat, noticeably tense, her lips pressed together in silence.
Emma tried to start a conversation to lighten things up. "Sophia, do you remember what your new teacher looks like? I haven't met her yet."
The little one nodded silently.
Seeing that Sophia responded to her, Emma felt a thrill of joy.
"Have you Sophia made any new friends in the new class?"
Sophia shook her head.
The last time she was at school, she only thought about Sebastian and Ethan and didn't pay attention to her classmates at all.
She only remembered how scared she was.
Those classmates must think she's a weirdo now, right?
But that was fine. After all, she didn't plan to stay at that preschool for long.
Once her daddy and Aunt Olivia made up, she would go back to the preschool where Sebastian and Ethan were!
Throughout the ride, Emma chatted casually with Sophia, and to her surprise, the little one responded to nearly every comment.
Emma was overjoyed.
After the car came to a stop, Emma helped Sophia out of the car.
Just as she was about to ask Sophia to point out who her new teacher was, the teacher recognized Sophia first.
"Sophia, you're here!"
The teacher smiled and approached them, greeting Sophia before looking at the person beside her. "And who is this lady?"
Emma smiled and nodded at the teacher. "Hello, I'm Victor's fiancée, Emma Thornton."
The marriage between the Leer family and the Thornton family was well-known in Seacrest, and the teachers at this preschool were aware of it.
Without Emma needing to elaborate, the teacher could guess that Emma's implication was that she would be Sophia's future mother.
The teacher's demeanor immediately became much more respectful. "Miss Thornton, nice to meet you. You can just call me Miss Collings."
