Chapter 5: Sports Event

Stella's POV

There is a sports event taking place today at our university. Of course there are other universities invited for this day. From badminton, soccer, basketball, running sports at marami pang iba. Malawak kasi itong university kaya dito napiling ganapin ang sports event.

Papatalo ba kami? I am also participating in a taekwondo tournament today. I'm back training for the past 2 weeks. Now I can test whether I am returning to my previous agility and fighting skills.

"And the winner is..."

Napapikit ako sa sobrang kaba at ang lakas ng tibok ng puso ko.

"BLUE TEAM! Congrats!"

"OMG! Me? Yehey!"

I got off the mat and Hazel happily greeted me. I jump while clapping with super fun.

"Congrats, Stella. Ang galing-galing mo at proud ako na kaibigan kita."

Gumuhit ang matamis na ngiti sa aking mga labi. Siyempre papalampasin ko bang hindi mapanuod ang crush ko? That won’t happen, I have to watch the game Sevi will fight.

Hazel immediately accompanied me to the cr and I quickly took off my taekwondo uniform. Nagbihis at nagpahid ng kaunting kolorete para fresh.

"Nakita ko si Sevi kanina." usal ni Hazel na ikinalingon ko.

"Really? Saan naman?"

"I don't know if he really meant to watch your game or he just passed by the court earlier. But I saw he watched your game."

Napangiti ako.

"Huwag kang umasa. I'm not sure if–"

"Sapat na iyon. Don't ruin my mood, okay? Tara na!"

Napailing na lang siya kaya inakbayan ko na at sabay kaming pumunta sa open ground. I adjusted the banner I was carrying.

"GO SEVI!!!"

I don't know if he heard me or not. Or he heard me but chooses to ignore me. What matters is that I fully support him. I still have enough energy to cheer him up now.

Sa huli ay nanalo si Sevi at sobrang tiliian ang natanggap niya hindi lang mula sakin pero mula sa schoolmates namin na karamihan ay mga babaeng humahanga rin sa kanya.

The ground was a bit wet because it was raining a little. When he was about to run to get his belongings, he suddenly slipped and fell into the mud. I was shocked and worried about him. I got up immediately and was about to approach him. The crowd was so surprised. Some felt sorry for him but most laughed at him.

"Ay nadulas!"

"Bakla na nga lampa pa."

"Really? He's gay? Sayang naman."

"Guwapo nga. Bakla naman at lampa."

There are just some of the bad comments I heard from students of other universities at maging schoolmates namin. I wanted to shout and hit them but I didn’t. It's useless. I turned my gaze to the group of women who had a banner for Sevi but even they were hesitant to help him.

Parang walang may balak na tulungan siya. I didn't notice my feet move it's own way to approach him.

"Sevi! Ayos ka lang ba at may masakit ba sa iyo?"

I offered my hand to help him stand but he just rebuffed it and he voluntarily stood up and quickly ran towards their building.

"If I'm not mistaken, you are Stella. Tama ba?"

Napalingon ako sa nagsalita. He is Sevi's teammate and he is one year ahead of us.

"Caiden ang pangalan ko. Hindi kami close ni Sevi pero medyo kilala ko na ang galawan ng lalaking iyon. He really just chooses who he talks to. Can you please give him a hand? Because he won't listen and will receive help from us."

"Baka hindi din siya makinig sa akin at ipagtabuyan pa ako." saad ko.

"No! I think mas kakausapin ka pa niya kaysa sa amin. He doesn't have an extra shirt but I have one and it's in our room. It's next to Sevi's room. My bag is color black. Just take it there but don't tell him it's mine. Naiintindihan mo ba?"

"Sige! Naiintindihan ko. Maraming salamat."

Tipid siyang ngumiti sa akin.

I went to the room that Caiden said earlier. After I took the shirt, I borrowed my classmate's jogging pants. I immediately went to the cr where Sevi was. I also borrowed the key of that cr from the staff room in case Sevi doesn't open it for me.

"Sevi! Si Stella ito. Buksan mo naman ang pinto."

I knocked on the door several times but he did not open it.

"Leave me alone. Wala akong ganang makipag-usap kahit na kanino."

"Please, Sevi–"

"I don't need your pity. Umalis ka na!"

He really had no intention of opening me so I used the key.

"I'm sorry, I'm just really worried about you so–"

Nabitawan ko ang susing hawak ko at nanlaki ang aking mga mata sa nakita.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH"

We both screamed in panic. I immediately closed my eyes.

"Umalis ka! You pervert!" Natatarantang sigaw niya.

"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to."

I immediately picked up the key that was on the floor and went out.

I sat down on the floor. I fanned myself with my hand because of the extreme nervousness. I saw him naked. As in I saw the hidden part of his body. The part of the body I shouldn’t have seen.

Namumula na ang buong mukha ko. Bakit ba siya nakahubad? Nakakahiya talaga!

I took a deep breath. I got up and knocked on the door again.

"What else do you want?!"

"Sorry na nga. Hindi ko iyon sinasadya. Oh, may dala akong pagpapalitang damit mo at magbihis ka na."

Binuksan ko ng kaunti ang pinto at inabot ang damit.

"Subukan mo lang sumilip and I won't hesitate to pluck those eyes of yours."

Kinuha niya agad sa kamay ko ang damit at sinarado ang pinto. Makalipas ang ilang minuto ay narinig kong tinawag ako ni Sevi.

"Stella?"

"What?" I put my ear to the door.

"Why are there no boxers here?" he whispered that I could barely hear.

"Ha?"

"Why don't you bring any undergarments? Are you st*pid!" sigaw niya.

Napaatras ako ng ilang hakbang mula sa pinto sa lakas ng boses niya. Nakakagulat naman.

"Why? Did your underwear get wet?" tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Nevermind! Nakainis kang babae ka."

I waited for him to finish and it only took a few minutes for it to come out. Tinatabunan niya ang harapan niya gamit ang dalawang kamay niya.

Pinipigilan kong matawa. He glared at me.

"Why are you covering the middle of you?"

"It's uncomfortable. Pakiramdan ko ay bumabakat." bulong niya na ikinatawa ko.

I looked down the hallway and there was no one else except the two of us. They all seem to be on open ground.

"Hindi naman halata, Sevi. You're just making it obvious by doing that. Itigil mo nga iyan!"

Nauna na akong maglakad sa hallway. Ang bagal niyang maglakad.

"Stella! Did you really see it?"

"Which one? Nakita ang alin?" Nagmamaang-maangan kong sabi habang nakasunod siya sakin.

"My... my private part."

I stopped walking and looked at him while smiling.

"Of course not."

He breathed a sigh of relief.

"I mean, I haven't seen much. Why? Do you have any plans to show it again?" Dugtong ko at mapang-asar ko siyang nginitian.

Namula ang mukha niya at binigyan ako ng masamang titig.

"You! Napakamanyak mo talaga!" sigaw niya.

"Did that make you feel better?" tanong ko sa kaniya.

He was going to hit me but he suddenly stopped. Then he realized I did that so he can forget what happened a while ago.

"Hindi mo naman kailangang gawin iyon." Napakamot siya sa likod ng ulo niya.

"Kunwari ka pa. You don't have to thank me. I'm glad I helped you. Tara na!" Ikinawit ko ang kamay ko sa braso niya.

"What are you doing? Sinasamantala mo ang pagkakataon ah. Alisin mo nga iyang kamay mo!" He said annoyed and he tried to remove my hand but I tightened it even more. Isiniksik ko pa ang ulo ko sa balikat niya.

"Can you leave without the students noticing your presence?"

Sandali siyang natigilan at napaisip.

"See? You can not. Kaya nga nandito ako. Nandito ako umiibig sayo~" pagkanta ko na wala sa tono.

"Itigil mo nga iyan. Nakakarindi yang boses mo." reklamo niya.

Huminto ako sa paglalakad at pinaharap siya sakin. I removed the cap I was wearing and put it on him.

"What are you doing—"

"Relax ka lang. So that others don't recognize you."

Inayos ko ang cap sa ulo niya at ang kunting bangs niya pero tinabig niya lang ang kamay ko. He rolled his eyes and gave me a bad look.

I smiled sweetly and winked at him.

"Sinasamantala mo talaga ang pagkakataon na kasama mo ako. Don't seduce me anymore, Stella. Hindi iyan gagana sa akin."

"Ang ganda ko, diba?"

He averted his eyes from me as if disgusted.

Nauna akong sumilip sa dadaanan namin. Kung sa likod kami dadaan ay hindi kami mahahalata at walang makakakita sa amin.

Ngunit napahinto ako nang may maalala.

"Wait a minute. Paano pala yung award mo?" tanong ko.

I almost forgot about his awarding. He was the one who won earlier.

"Hindi na mahalaga iyon. I just need to get out of here. They might even laugh at me and make fun of me when I go there to get my award. I don't want to be embarrassed again."

His eyes are emotionless.

"Are you sure?"

Nagkibit-balikat lang siya.

"Let's go! Ako ang bahala sa iyo."

Mabilis kong hinila ang kamay niya at sabay kaming tumakbo. Sevi almost stumbled at the speed of my run.

"Hoy! Sandali nga. Saan mo ba ako dadalhin?"

We reached the back of the building. I turned to look at him.

"What are we going to do here?"

"Nakikita mo iyan?" I pointed to the high wall.

"Malamang kasi may dalawang mata ako." Masungit niyang saad at inirapan ako. Ang hilig ng baklang ito na umirap. Dukutin ko kaya mga mata nito.

"You want to go home when they can't see and notice you? This is the solution to your problem. This is where we will pass." sambit ko habang may mapaglarong ngisi.
