Terminal cancer 80

Chapter 7

Blake left with them while I stood frozen.

My friend patted my shoulder.

“Aria, if you want to cry, just cry. When you’re done, forget him.”

I tilted my head, still smiling.

“Who says I want to cry? I’m not sad at all.”

But somehow, tears just started falling.

The delayed shock of Blake’s abandonment was finally hitting me.

I really was heartbroken.

I couldn’t understand it.

Was he really going to destroy everything he’d built with his own hands for Celeste?

3lake was smart enough to know that only pleasing me, calming me down, could get the Reed family’s backing-

hat was his only option now.

I was still waiting for him to come crawling back so I could humiliate him to the rot.

Losing that land put Blake’s position at the company in jeopardy.

That day, Dad called me into his study.

‘Aria, think carefully. Do you really want to watch him fall from grace?”

didn’t know.

just felt this relationship ended too unfairly.

Like I had this suffocating weight in my chest with nowhere to go.

desperately needed to do something, to make him remember I existed.

When I stayed silent, Dad handed me a plane ticket.

The overseas branch is finally stable. Go travel, see the world!”

What Dad didn’t say was Blake was getting married soon.

He’d even willing to lose his CEO position just in order to giving that mother and daughter a real family.

The night I was leaving, Blake somehow heard and rushed to the airport.

Honestly, I didn’t want to see him.

“I’m sorry about that day. I hurt you, but I had no choice.”

He went on explaining, as if perhaps this would make him feel better.

“I have a daughter now. I can’t let her go through what I did-being called a bastard hurts.”

I stood up, turning away from him.

“Blake, I don’t accept your apology, and I won’t love you anymore.”

Maybe I wasn’t over him yet.

But I didn’t believe that in three years, five years, ten years, I’d still be hung up on him.
