Luca sighed and touched his nape. "This isn't enough... I don't know everything about her. I don't even know her likes and dislikes... I fell silent at what he said and looked away... It must be painful for him that he wasn't with Vanna while she was growing up.

We both just smiled and quietly waited for Vanna. Everything was ready. Cherry and Vanna were on their way home. Luca and I just chatted while waiting for them.
"I had a strong craving for corn when I was pregnant. I find it weird because Vanna doesn't like corn," I said, laughing.
Luca just smiled and looked at me. "Was it hard? I mean... being alone for three years?" he asked in a weak voice.
I smiled faintly and scratched my arm. "Well, kinda... but I won't blame anyone for it. I was the one who willingly stayed away from everyone and chose to be pregnant alone. I chose to hide from you, so I have no one else to blame for my hardships but myself... We both suffered from our recklessness before. But until now, I still regret hiding Vanna from you. You suffered too much... You don't deserve it," I muttered and smiled faintly.
"Just like you said, we both suffered from our recklessness. What's important is that we've both learned now. We became the better version of ourselves. We just have to keep on going, keep improving... for ourselves and for Vanna."
I smiled at what he said. I looked into his eyes; they are genuine. He really became a better person. I'm proud of him.

Luca and I both froze when we heard Vanna's voice. We immediately stood up and greeted our daughter.
"Congratulations, Vanna!" Luca and I greeted her at the same time, then popped the confetti.
Vanna gasped and smiled. "Oh my! What's this?" she asked, sounding excited and even jumping a little.
"We're congratulating you for being the top 4 in your class. We're so proud of you," Luca said, then immediately carried Vanna and put a party hat on her.
Vanna frowned at what Luca said. "Oh, is that all? I'm sad because my rank went down. I was Top 2 last time," Vanna said with a pout.
"So what? You still did your best, and I'm so proud of you." Luca kissed Vanna's cheek.
Vanna's cheeks turned red at what Luca said. My baby is really cute. She still can't be honest with her Daddy.

Luca just smiled and carried Vanna to the kitchen. He seemed excited to show his daughter the things we baked for her. I just smiled, shook my head, and followed them with my gaze.
"Oh, okay, ate... I'll leave first; you guys have some family bonding here," Cherry said, saying goodbye.
"Thank you," I just said to her and ignored her teasing look.
I just went to the kitchen after Cherry left. I joined Luca and Vanna, who were eating cupcakes. Luca was feeding Vanna while our daughter was busy rummaging through the toys Luca bought for her.
I just quietly watched them while smiling. They're so good to look at together. I never thought I would be able to see something like this again, them as father and daughter... together.
"Put this on me!" Vanna said happily, then handed Luca the necklace he bought for her.
"Come here," Luca said and made Vanna sit on his lap. He took the necklace and put it on Vanna.
"Wow, it looks good on you. You look like your Mommy, both of you are beautiful," Luca said with a smile, then stroked Vanna's hair.
I was stunned by what he said. I just blinked and looked away when I felt my cheeks heat up... It's normal to feel a little thrill when someone tells you you're beautiful.
Vanna giggled and hugged Luca's neck. She kissed her father's cheek and hugged him tighter. "Thank you, Daddy!"
I saw how Luca froze at what Vanna said, and I was stunned too. Luca hugged her back and kissed the top of her head. His eyes were sparkling because of the tears that were about to fall... He hugged Vanna even tighter when his tears finally fell.

I just smiled... Luca deserves it. I'm so happy for him.
"Are you still okay?" I asked, laughing, then opened a canned beer.
Luca sighed and stroked his hair. "Damn, I'm still stunned... I'm so damn happy," he bit his lower lip and chuckled.
I tapped his shoulder. "You deserve it. Obviously, Vanna saw your effort and sincerity. I'm happy for you too," I said with a smile, then drank my beer.
I just looked at the sky... Vanna is asleep now because she's tired. She played and played with Luca and me all day. Luca and I, on the other hand, couldn't sleep, so we're just hanging out here on the veranda... It has also become frequent for us to hang out here whenever we have a hard time sleeping and we just talk until we get sleepy.
"Do you want some?" I asked and offered him a beer.

Luca couldn't do anything but accept it and drink. I just stared at him and smiled... It's really comfortable being with him. I'm also slowly forgetting the bad memories I have here on the veranda.
We just quietly drank. There were a lot of canned beers on the table, which was fine since I didn't have work tomorrow and neither did Vanna.

"W-What the hell are you saying? A-Are you really drunk?!" I snapped.
Luca's head fell on the table and he buried his face there. I just blinked and peeked at him, but I immediately gasped when he looked at me. He smiled faintly at me and held my hand. I was about to pull it away, but he immediately intertwined our fingers.
He could barely open his eyes properly because of the drunkenness.
