Chapter 167
Raymond grabbed Amelia's wrist and placed her hand on his erection.
The moment she felt the heat, Amelia's mind snapped back to clarity, her heart racing even faster than when they were on the bed.
What had just happened was a mutual release, but now with her hand on Raymond, what was this supposed to mean?
Amelia desperately wanted to pull her hand back, but Raymond held her wrist, kissing the corner of her mouth.
"Help me, please."
Raymond's eyes were red, like a pitiful puppy, pleading with her.
Amelia tentatively pushed Raymond to the edge of the pool, and with a slight movement, Raymond couldn't help but moan.
The experience was so novel that Amelia couldn't stop herself from moving.
She couldn't remember how they ended up back in bed, but when she woke up, it was already the next morning.
Raymond held Amelia in his arms, kissing the corner of her mouth. Seeing her awake, he spoke in a hoarse voice.
"You're awake. Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"
Despite his words, Raymond didn't move, becoming even more audacious.
Forcing his hands away from her body, Amelia sat up.
"Stop it, I'm really hungry."
Seeing the genuine hunger on Amelia's face, Raymond didn't push further. He got up and lifted her.
"Go freshen up, breakfast will be here soon."
Raymond carried her to the bathroom, squeezed toothpaste onto her brush, and handed it to her.
Amelia brushed her teeth mechanically, and Raymond, finding her more endearing, kissed her cheek before returning to the room to arrange breakfast.
Amelia stared blankly at herself in the mirror.
Her face showed signs of indulgence, covered in kiss marks.
She clearly remembered what happened last night and her intentions.
But looking at how things were unfolding today, it didn't seem to match her plans.
When Amelia returned to the room after freshening up, breakfast had already arrived. Raymond sat at the table, setting up the utensils and pouring her a glass of warm water.
"I know you didn't sleep well and might not have much of an appetite, so I ordered something light."
"Once you feel better, we can go out and see what you want to eat."
Amelia nodded. Just as she sat down, the doorbell rang, accompanied by Zoey's voice.
"Mom, are you awake?"
"Mom!"
Zoey burst in, followed by Noah.
They hadn't seen Amelia for a day and missed her terribly.
After comforting them for a while, Amelia thought about taking them out to play.
As they reached downstairs, they ran into Dean and Isaiah. It was unclear how these two met, but Cecil was with them too.
Amelia gave them a complicated look and tried to leave with the kids, but Dean blocked their way, inviting them to a gathering.
Amelia didn't want to go, but there were clearly people hiding around. Refusing now might lead to unforeseen consequences, so she decided to agree and see what they were up to. She glanced at Raymond for his opinion. Seeing him agree, Amelia nodded.
Dean led them to a secluded villa. Just when Amelia thought they would put on a show, they pulled out a contract, forcing Raymond to sign it. If he didn't, they threatened to kill Amelia, Noah, and Zoey. The contract demanded Raymond give up the Adams family.
Amelia was shocked by their blatant approach and didn't know how to react. But Raymond seemed prepared, tearing up the contract.
"Did you think I'd come without any preparation?"
More people emerged, surrounding them. The guns initially pointed at Amelia, Noah, and Zoey were now aimed at Isaiah and Cecil. It turned out Dean had secretly allied with Raymond to force Isaiah's hand. Unexpectedly, Cecil got involved too.
Isaiah's face turned pale. As he tried to resist, Dean shot him in the head. Cecil tried to escape but was caught.
Facing Amelia's questioning gaze, Cecil just smiled.
"Amelia, I treated you so well, and now you betray me for a man. Shouldn't I do this?"
Amelia didn't bother looking at Cecil anymore. She hugged the distressed Zoey, avoiding his eyes.
In the end, Isaiah and Cecil's men were taken away, along with the Powell family members. Raymond took Amelia, Noah, and Zoey back to the villa.
Amelia wanted to live her life with Noah and Zoey, but Raymond pulled out a ring he had prepared, kneeling before her in front of everyone.
"Amelia, will you marry me?"
It was Raymond's first proposal, the one she had always dreamed of. Thinking of the past, Amelia didn't want to agree, but Noah and Zoey clung to her legs, crying.
"Mom, please say yes to Dad!"
"We finally have a family, please say yes!"
Seeing Noah and Zoey's tearful faces, Amelia had no choice but to agree. Raymond smiled, slipping the ring onto her finger.
That month, he arranged a grand wedding for her. People who didn't know the details wondered why they were having another wedding since they were already married. But only Raymond and Amelia knew this was their first real wedding.
