Chapter 67: Anger

Swana had no idea that the situation in the palace was far worse than she thought.

'Oh my, the palace is shrouded in black clouds,' Swana thought.

The soldiers escorting her soon changed. The soldiers under Samuel left Swana and the soldiers guarding the palace came in their place.

"Your Majesty, I will return now. My duty is done," Sam excused himself.

"Yes, you did a good job."

Samuel bowed and left.

Swana looked at the soldiers currently surrounding the carriage. They were soldiers who had been in the kingdom for a long time and not Curtis' soldiers.

The soldiers from Sinclair's kingdom were trembling in fear as they reported to her.

"Your Majesty, right now Commander Curtis is like crazy. He destroyed all of his belongings in his study," reported the captain of the palace guard.

"Gosh, I guess I'll have to see for myself," Swana replied.

"Please, you are the only one who can make Commander Curtis calm down."

Swana nodded, she was about to step towards Curtis' room, but Nancy suddenly appeared.

"My Queen, thank goodness you've returned. You must calm Commander Curtis down."

Nancy appeared with wide footsteps. Just like the captain of the palace guard, her face was filled with fear.

Swana tried to calm Nancy down. Everything that happened was the result of her decision and she knew she had to take responsibility.

"I know Auntie. Now take Yerenika and Noel to the former king's room. It's the only safe place for both of them. In the meantime, I'll try to keep Curtis calm."

Nancy and the captain were surprised when Swana said that the princess and prince were with her in the chariot. Neither of them expected them to return.

"They are with you?" asked a shaken Nancy.

"Isn't the prince in poor health?" he asked again. That was also the palace captain's question.

Swana nodded, "I don't have time to explain now. I need to see Curtis or he'll go even crazier."

Nancy and the Captain pulled over as Swana passed by. The two immediately went to the carriage and helped Yerenika and Noel to pass through the palace to the room of the deceased King Damian.

"My God, those two really came here," the captain murmured.

"Princess Yerenika, Prince Noel, please follow us. We must be quick so as not to make Commander Curtis' soldiers suspicious," Nancy said slowly.

Noel was once again confronted with the fact that Curtis was powerful and feared. He was now unsure of his leadership as King. Because if everyone feared Curtis then he would be a powerless king.

"Alright, lead the way Auntie," Yerenika said.

She got off the horse and followed Nancy's footsteps. So did Noel.

For now, Noel tried to do whatever Swana planned. He will not fight or take any action. All so that he would not disrupt Swana's efforts. Noel knew that it would not be easy for Swana.

...

Meanwhile, Swana had arrived at Curtis' office. The sound of objects being smashed could still be heard from behind the door.

Now, she felt first-hand what Curtis' anger was like. Her heart even began to skip a beat as the sound of items being smashed rang out.

'No wonder everyone here is scared,' Swana thought.

Swana was about to knock, but before her hand could land on the thick oak door, it suddenly opened. Then her body was pulled inside.

"Akh!"

Swana squealed in surprise, only to find Curtis pressed against her with red, angry eyes.

Swana didn't seem to recognize Curtis who was currently crushing her body. Because the Curtis she knew never acted violently and looked at her sharply.

"Curtis, what happened to you? Why are you like this?" Asked Swana who tried to calm down. Her heart was beating brutally in her chest. For the first time after the Killian rebellion, she was afraid of Curtis.

"Why did you betray me Swana? Why did you free the men who slaughtered werewolves for research!" Curtis hissed.

Curtis did not answer Swana and went straight for the questions. The disappointment he felt was so overwhelming that he could barely control himself.

Swana ventured to look at Curtis. "No, he wasn't the one who masterminded the werewolf massacre. The ones who did it

were King Damian and the previous chief witch," Swana argued. "And you have finished them off," Swana continued.

"But he's the head witch's replacement so she's in charge!"

"Just like I replaced King Damian, I should be responsible too. Look Curtis, we don't know anything at all until we take the place of sinners like them. It's bad luck that we look like those who committed the sin."

Curtis laughed. He felt stupid for arguing with Swana. The woman he married was so intelligent that of course, he would win in an argument.

"I knew arguing with you was a mistake. "

"I gave you the highest position in the country and you defied me!"

Swana let out a long breath. "You have no idea what I want, Curtis. I don't want to be a queen at all, I want a quiet life. But you're giving me responsibilities that don't allow me to sleep well."

Curtis did not expect Swana to say that.

"Now I will return the position of king to Noel because she is the rightful one. I want to live free from political pressure, so I'm asking Eden to heal Noel. "

To Curtis, Swana had become very ungrateful.

"Go away."

"What?" Swana asked.

"I said leave!" Curtis shouted.

"All right, but in a week, the coronation will begin and I'll be out of here. I want to go to the peaceful north. If you want to stay here and become king in place of Noel, then go ahead. What is certain is that I won't be here anymore."

Swana continued her steps out of Curtis' office. She restrained herself from collapsing while all the fear was still in her mind. An angry Curtis was terrifying. Which was soon shattered when she reached his room. Swana cried.
